the hard boiled egg reminds me of the story our family loves to laugh about. In the late 1800s my ancestors moved from a very small village in Germany to the United States. They boarded a train from NY to Wisconsin, and as a part of their fare they were given oranges as a snack along the way. Having never seen an orange, they promptly bit into them like an apple and were horrified at the bitter taste. They threw their oranges out of the train window at the next stop because they considered them inedible... Only to see children outside the train pick them up, peel them, and thoroughly enjoy them. Yeah... They felt dumb 😂

Exactly, if a person dies at and equal rate of birth our population would have achieved homeostasis and be a stable constant. But our birth rate has been greater than our death rate for quite a while now and has been in a state of exponential growth. To the point where some doomsayers say the overpopulation of the world will bring about a global crisis with in our lifetime.

Wouldn't it count as A Statue of Liberty? Due to it being made as commemoration for the hundredth anniversary of the French Revolution. It does stand for Liberty just not the way they thought lol

I watched a video here, on RUclips, where a mother almost lost custody of her children because she failed a DNA test. Turned out she, the mother, was a chimera. So yes, to receive social assistance in some jurisdictions, mothers do have to submit to DNA testing.
The mother was pregnant with her third child at the time. A member of the court was in the delivery room. They swabbed the baby right away and got the same results.
If I remember correctly, chimeras are people who absorbed their twins so have two sets of DNA.
I read the article about that. Very interesting, but craxy that they still almost didn’t believe she was the mother.

Since I have been to Paris, I can tell you that there is in fact a smaller "Statue of Liberty" in Paris.

I found out at a party one time that I was the only one I knew who ate the shrimp tails. No one ever told me not to! But...I looked it up online and apparently eating or not eating shrimp tails varies by region. So, at least it wasn't going to kill me.
I also eat the tails, but my husband doesn’t. I also will eat the potato skins when we have baked potatoes.

Fun Fact: There are 3 babies born verses 1 dead person; every second. Therefore the population cannot cancel itself out.
Even if one baby was born for every person that dies, that just means the population would stay the same. Not grow and not decrease, just stay the same.

Fun fact, there is a small replica of the Statue of Liberty not far from the Eiffel Tower. The statue in New York was a gift from the people of France and the internal structure was built by Gustave Eiffel, who designed...you got it, the Eiffel Tower.
Fun fact: while triplets are only in the womb for 9 months, not 27, elephants actually carry their babies for 22 months! The reason for such a long gestation is to allow the baby elephant's brain to develop enough that it can survive on it's own if need be. Thanks to the social setting of elephants a baby rarely has to face life alone cuz if something happens to mama, their are plenty of "aunties" waiting to help raise the babies.

The one about why don't women take dna tests reminded me of a story: sorry random. I get it after they born in case there is a theft sure. But this woman had already had a few children and was pregnant when another when the government was called because the children looked nothing like her. They took her babies put her in jail, because the dna did not match. After her next one was born they did a test and found out the baby shared the same dna as its siblings. She found out she had chimerism(one twin absorbed the other). Where part of her body had a different dna strand as the rest. Turns out other women have had this since. Crazy.
Yes, chimerism is very rare but I have heard of several cases like this. I've heard of it happening to men as well.

At the same time Da Vinci was working for the governor Charles d'Amboise, and was pretty busy in Milan. They didn't like each other just because they had very little in common (and apparently because old Mickey was a bit of a dick XD)

@@thepeddler9226 All correct, but this has nothing to do with the Sistine Chapel: The event you're describing happened in Florence, four years before Michelangelo got the commission by the Pope in Rome. As I've already said, by then Da Vinci was working full time in Milan. He couldn't have been less involved with the Vatican at the time. As a matter of fact, he didn't even set foot in Rome until the 1514, two years later the completion of the Sistine Chapel.
