My first born was lactose intolerant when he was born. I couldn’t breastfeed because I didn’t produce enough milk, but his pediatrician gave us some formula that was made for children like him. It was a huge relief!

Mom (a teacher, and at the time, a preschool director we lived on property for) had me go "make him another one. As a lactation counselor, statistically, very few babies are unable to handle their own mother’s milk. When there are issues, it is usually due to the food the mother has eaten, but not actual milk. But being unable to handle the lactose of HUMAN milk is a very rare thing. It is MUCH more common to be “lack toast and tall of rent” in milk from OTHER mammals. : )

The breastmilk one has an easy answer, the natural developement of a mammal is that they tolerate milk until they get weaned, then the enzymes in the gut starts changing and they become lactose intolerant. In humans, mostly in the west, we have mutated into that step not happening. So lactose intolerant children are actually lactose tolerant until weaned.

@@fabplays6559 Actually it depends on where you are viewing the Earth *falling* from since the Earth is always *falling* towards the sun. The Earth's sidways momentum prevents it from completing that fall.
The Earth is constantly falling towards the Sun, but moving fast enough to miss. So, sunward is down, anti-sunward is up. Like a ball on a string being spun around. Speed keeps it from falling, the string (gravity) keeps it from flying away. Since actual gravity isn't a physical connection, the speed and gravitational force need to be balanced just right for a stable orbit, and the path is elliptic rather than circular.
It's the same with people who write hollywood scifi movies, where spaceships that take damage start falling down suddenly. In space, not in an orbit, and not even towards any closeby planet. Simply down from the viewpoint of the camera.

The breastmilk one has an easy answer, the natural developement of a mammal is that they tolerate milk until they get weaned, then the enzymes in the gut starts changing and they become lactose intolerant. In humans, mostly in the west, we have mutated into that step not happening. So lactose intolerant children are actually lactose tolerant until weaned.
