Like the new cabin and the new safety video is brilliant, but same problem with BA cabin crew certainly in world traveller a don't care about providing good customer poor service seems to be the norm, 2nd meal service is grim, as you mentioned it makes you wonder if any of the top management have tasted what's on offer.
Yeah I think that’s fair for sure! I flew with Etihad last night out of Heathrow and was woken up from a sleep to find one of those pastries being offered to me by the crew, I thought I was having a nightmare! 🤣
great review as always. seat looked nice. i love doing the 4 seat sleep trick where possible. managed to bag myself a whole row to los angeles last time i went on virgin economy. managed to sleep nicely.
I can’t see what control mechanisms they’ve got in place for maintaining consistent service levels at all, wonder if they could do with some outside help in the form of a senior hire from the likes of Qatar Airways or Singapore Airlines on this front…
@@Travelsbydreamer The UK isn't exactly short of people. It's got to be the hiring practices, which I can't understand. A professional Organisational Psychologist can easily put together a testing program to find the right people for the right jobs.
I think you forget BA doesn’t really care about service to the same extent as SQ or QR sadly. Everything at BA is done to a cost. Look at the downgrades to the business catering with brunchgate and late night flights. Unfortunately being London based it’s just very convenient to fly them just don’t expect to eat on board
@@Travelsbydreamer Many years ago there was a TV documentary about BA and a couple of episodes featured cabin crew training, with the amount of criticism BA CC receives training standards have certainly dropped since then particularly in economy. Easyjet CC have been better on a majority of the flights I've taken with them.
@ yeah, I seem to remember something similar, I think since then the amount of investment into it has declined one would assume and standards have very much followed…
Decent video. The 777-200 (Gatwick Fleet) are all recently refurbished in the Y/W cabins but Club World (old) will remain likely until the aircraft are retired - and get replaced by older Heathrow aircraft which will have Club Suite (new) by the end of 2026. Flying out of LGW - BA’s best cabin overall is Premium Economy, I’d say, given the 3-4-3 default config for Economy. Also Given the increased Tier Points the comparatively cheaper fares for Premium Economy (vs heathrow, and on leisure routes). Schweppes is fine for tonic water. I don’t get the snobbishness about tonic waters. BA’s catering (ex-Gatwick) is pretty good, but Do&Co out of LHR (especially in Club Europe) is better. BA crew is very hit or miss. But a natural consequence of being so awful to their crew over the years.
Thank you! Would agree with so much of that, great info on the LGW fleet, that’s spot on. Premium economy for me over the years has been such a sweet spot for the exact reasons you state. Tonic wise, try Schweppes and fever tree back to back, you’ll soon join the tonic alliance! 😊 Thanks for watching ✈️
@ yeah, I’ve found club Europe to be pretty good. Goodness knows what they’re thinking with CW at the moment, it was never an especially strong suit for them when compared to Qatar etc but this new brunch offering looks dire…
Having had a rubbish first longhaul Economy experience with BA to their flagship US network last year, I was hoping to see something amazing. Sad to see that there are still zero amenities outside the standard pillow/blanket, the catering is so so, cabin appearance and legroom is the only plus point. As for the tired, aged and bored crew with attitudes, they are a huge let down to the Airline. My friend, if you feel your flight was better than before then my God am I glad I did not fly that version of BA ! An Airline that needs fixing on many many levels.
It’s a fairly average offering just now. That said, you’d be hard pressed to find much in the way of amenities in the modern day economy cabin outside perhaps a very select few carriers such as Etihad etc. Tricky when going west from the UK, perhaps JetBlue/Virgin currently the best offering…

2nd meal service is also grim in business from my experience. It’s not Top management’s priority
2nd meal service should be better .
Did long haul 1 time with BA, never again. Cabin crew showed poor training and 0 customer service skills
Management do not care and staff morale is below zero.
Another great, informative, and honest review. Top marks, as always!
Thank you so much!
Great video as always. Totally agree with you about some of the BA staff being rude its ridiculous that this is often the case
Thank you! Yeah, something which needs looking at as service consistency has long been an issue.

Thank you! Ohhh it’s glorious isn’t it, that was a great flight to get that on too!
Nice surprise, indeed (both new product and an empty cabin). Great job TbD, as always.
Thank you! Yeah great to have both, for sure lucked out that day!
Were your seats able to recline?
Yeah no issues :)
BA needs to keep firing sub-par cabin crew, and keep hiring, until the rubbish ones are all gone.

What airline is your favorite 😍
I’d say Qatar just now…close between them and Singapore airlines though!
Have you tried Thai airways
I have indeed, video featuring their A350 business class upcoming!
Decent video.

And catering out of LHR for club world is too often quite dire tbh. Club Europe is great on the other hand though

And you should try out airasia
They’re on the channel :)
Economy is terrible.
I find it ok but, it’s not the best way to travel for sure but fits a purpose…
777 are getting tired
Yeah, they’re old birds for sure. I’m not a huge fan of travelling on them. Noisy and dry…
