Booked as a return, flown earlier in the month, they do seem to have upped the pricing a bit. Would recommend doing first one was and back another cabin to manage costs if you’re keen to experience it!

There have been lots of RUclips videos about this ticket - maybe Emirates are doing some cashing in? I've seen some Google Flights screen shots from late July and the the prices then for BKK-HKG in First in October/November ranged from £688 to £789.

@@peterhastings703 I feel as though there may have been a price movement potentially on the route as it has gained a lot of interest since I booked it. It’s still remarkably good value especially when compared to searches I’ve done say Dubai - Muscat (their shortest) but the non flex cheaper first tickets will be tricky to get now. One to consider getting using a few EK points also…

Would recommend doing one way in first and going for a cheaper cabin on the return, a quick search just now based on dates next year highlights fares around £500 each way for first and around £250 for business. Only flex available however so would look out for any sale prices. May just have been I was lucky as did book a long time in advance 👍

For sure was! Hahahah glad that bit came through on the video. For me, I’d actually put the Qatar product ever so slightly ahead when I experienced it as preferred the cabin but for an outgoing product my goodness it’s good. Didn’t feel in any way tired in the cabin, everything so so well maintained and presented. They can cut me a flight if they’d like aboard their newer cabins so I can compare and contrast…hint hint anyone from Dubai listening hahaha

Great looking experience and great video and commentary but you were rather vague about the best French white wine that you have ever tasted. What was it? Grape at least?

@@DavidPurser-u3c thank you! Indeed, I didn’t feature that one as much as I should have given how well it went down, it was the wine which appeared at the top left of the menu, it was a 2015 Pessac-Léognan from France :)

Not the ones shown in this flight, these were up against the bulk head as it’s sort of 2 mini cabins. The rear most seats on the upper deck are nearest the bathrooms though. Having sat in the window seat there a few times, I haven’t been bothered by them however 😊

Second service often overlaps with economy in my experience which is a real shame. Main service however is a significant enhancement in my experience on the economy offering, I’ve had some really super meals on BA premium economy. Do feel that Virgin are ahead in this area however…

Hmmm, if you get B satellite departure gates for sure one as it’s shared with first class and has recently been renovated. Otherwise however, north and south galleries lounge in the main terminal are much of a muchness 😊

Thanks so much! It was a few years ago now but I’d say probably 15A or 16A looking at the position. I’d avoid 14A however as looks as though that seat is missing a window…according to seat guru. Have an amazing trip!

Thank you! BA premium economy for sure larger, largely thanks to the wider seat and also more leg room. So whilst the Qatar seat is very impressive for an economy seat, if you can get BA PE at a similar price I’d for sure go for it. Noise wise however, I didn’t notice anything in terms of disruption coming through from the lounge 😊

Ohhh tricky one, I can’t say I tried, sorry. The 380’s with premium economy are by their very nature the most up to date ones thus that would give you the best possible chance of having the feature. I’m not sure however what other factors could be in play so hard one to make a call on…

Haha I see what you mean for sure, the WAG comparison did make me laugh. For me, whilst they’re still going for the bling type look, they’ve dialled it down nicely and now used more brushed metals in the bathroom etc which is fare more tasteful. I’d say the BA cabin in the right lighting looks classy with quite a warm/cozy colour palette. Very much a case of personal preference though which is why I love making these videos and not casting too much of my own opinion as always interested to see what others think

@Travelsbydreamer I am old and recall a time when you got meals and included drink on flights within Europe even on package holiday flights. Non smoking at the front smoking in the rea, but as nearly every smoked, the non-smoking section of the plane was often only a couple of rows. No one large carry-on bags the overhead lockers were full of duty free bought in airport which was considerably cheaper. Those days Pan Am and BA (along with it predecessors BEA and BOAC) were the airlines to fly on. The best flight I ever took for the experience and service was on a BA concorde London to New York.

@@old.not.too.grumpy. the golden days for sure! I can do without the smoking but all other aspects were fab. Some of the European carriers slowly returning to that model F&B wise but the offering is generally in the gutter at the moment in that regard :(

@Travelsbydreamer BA European flights are dreadful. I don't understand why people would pay for the business class. You sit in the same seat as economy even if the central one is left empty. Basically, you are paying much more just get an M&S ready meal and free drinks.🤣

@@old.not.too.grumpy. yeah I do get you, if you get the emergency exit seat in economy and some nice food it’s as good a experience onboarding however, without status it’s the off aircraft benefits which people largely pay for such as priority choking in, security and boarding, more luggage allowance and of course, the all important lounge access :)

Thank you! Great point about the BA mattress it’s so thin to the point of wondering why they bother, perhaps more just of a seat covering than a mattress. Shame because as you so rightly say, the rest of the bedding especially that big plush pillow is rather amazing.

Agreed 100%, I think the 30% premium is fair, especially when you factor the additional tier points. Like you say, if BA F sneaks in around the same price then that makes excellent sense 😊

There would never have been a better time to have renovated them, air travel was down, doing so now will be an operational nightmare. Sympathise with their position given governmental policy at the time however.

@@karlp8484 oh no worries, there’s so much going on in these vids destination wise! Incheon was with KLM but flew onwards with them from Amsterdam so got to show their flagship lounge also!

Didn’t do either sadly on this flight as I was sat well behind but typically, in these types of cabins the first seat does have more room when converted into a bed with thanks to no seat in front. The noise from the galley can be an issue though free dependant and also traffic heading to the loos. If it was me though and it was available, I think I’d go for it 😊

That’s a fantastic point, indeed. BA does benefit greatly from blind loyalty in my eyes as so many national carriers do to be fair. That must’ve been incredibly eye opening for people, especially pre club suites!
