These two actors both are incredible. Doesn't matter if you're straight or gay. And beautifully told tragic love story.
So, not credible? That's too bad.
I love how natural they are with each other. Perfect chemistry. Straight men that can inhabit a gay persona with no shame, are so attractive to me. So confident and compassionate.
I read that they are really good friends and have known each other for a long time, so I'm guessing that helps the chemistry between them on screen.
So why can't they cast real gay actors instead of straight actors? Gay actors need a big break too.
@@iloveplumpgrannies174 I feel like they should hire regardless of the actor’s sexuality. I think that Neil Patrick Harris and Jim Parsons (among MANY other openly gay actors) have proven that gay actors can become very popular and they don't have to play gay characters to do that. It’s just a shame that a lot of straight actors feel uncomfortable playing gay roles when it’s literally their job to show/act fake feelings.

I've just finished watching the movie and WOW. WOW. I've cried way too many times in this movie than in any other full-length film. And it's only 1 1/2 hours long! Acting is outstanding, soundtrack is phenomenal. This is no doubt one of the best movies I've seen in the past few years. It's a beautiful, sad love story that makes you think of mortality, relationship, and emotional strength. Amazing film.
I took care of my dad for the last two years of his life as he suffered from Alzheimer's and while I can appreciate the quality and tenderness of this film, having watched the trailer, I'm going to have to miss it. It would be too much.
It's time for mr. Tucci for his first Oscar.

I work in memory care watching the trailer with all my nurse friends tonight we all choked up
I don't know if my heart could stand the pain this story will portray, but how could I stand not watching it at all.
I saw it and it contains the three things that art needs: the good, the true, and the beautiful.
If there's any justice, there will be Oscars for this film, the actors & production crew. Poignant scene wherein Tucci told Firth he wanted to be remembered for who he was brought some tears to my eyes. I'm the sole caregiver for my 86 yo mother w/dementia so this hit home today. Be safe, all, and protect yourself/your loved ones.

In what way are they underrated? Colin Firth won an Academy Award for "The King's Speech" in 2011 and Tucci has been nominated. They're highly recognizable actors; some might say famous. Are you making a distinction between recognition for their work and some other kind of rating?

This film is about my life, I am glad to see I have been portrayed by the talented Mr Firth. I hope that I will learn something about noble response to difficult circumstances, if I can bear to watch. Stanley is brilliantly cast as my handsome and sweet husband.

I actually saw this movie and understand the compassionate message in the storyline as would anyone who truly loves someone would not want to abandon their loved one if they knew their loved one was diagnosed with a degenerative disease. I believe that's the focus of this movie.
Saw this last weekend. Incredible performances by both Firth and Tucci. I really want to see it once more on the big screen. It's a riveting film.
I've watched and I do not regret it. I've cried a couple times. This movie is beautiful. Totally recommend to watch it if you didn't. Colin and Stanley wonderully portraited a gay couple, you could feel the chemistry between them. I will remember this film for a very long time.

Немного грустно было читать глупые и совершенно не оригинальные комментарии от соотечественников, а ещё грустнее, что от ровесников, глядя на календарь, и тем не менее, вижу мудрых ребят с красивыми сердцами среди молодёжи, оставивших отличные отзывы, это радует, прогресс положительный, и он, несомненно, есть.

Stanley just revealed that he had a cancer diagnosis a few years ago. It makes so much sense now why he did such a brilliant performance in this film but also heartbreaking. Especially since he lost his wife to cancer in 2009.
With my grandma's dementia diagnosis a few months ago I can see I'ma cry my eyes out with this

@@Kimber88LP indeed. I went to see her a few days ago back in my hometown. Luckily she still recognizes me, but it's so heartbreaking seeing her like that. She went through so much in her life and was such a strong woman up until less than a year ago

My mom had vascular dementia and she knew all of us till her passing . She couldn't be left alone, we had to take care of her as if she were a toddler. She grew weaker and weaker in and out of hospitals due to lack of oxygen coupled with her COPD. She was so weak to feed herself and then could no longer do anything but lie there being injected with morphine and into hospice into a nursing home where she passed away peacefully
