I am Franco-Portuguese, so I am European, and I would like to share my opinion on "Geography Club". It's a good film, but it portrays a very American perspective on homosexuality, characterized by fear and division. In Europe, we approach this topic with more inclusivity and tolerance. This film is clearly aimed at an American audience and might seem unlikely to Europeans, where acceptance is generally higher. 🌈❤
While I understand your comment re Europeans v people from US, it is a film filmed in US, with US characters and actors, therefore it's natural that it represents US "values".
It seems to me just yet another american stereotyped coming-out film. ( i liked it a lot though). I wish there were more EU productions to have another standpoint

The main character, Russell, is definitely mean! Regardless he wants to be in closet forever or coming out, he certainly not worth to be a friend!! Truly!!!

C'est mignon tout plein. C'est encore difficile d'être gay dans les années 2020 quand on est adolescent. Il faut apprendre aux ados hétéros qu'être gay ne s'attrape pas. On préfère les filles ou les garçons mais on peut aimer les 2. C'est con de grandir avec cette idée limitante qu'il faut absolument être hétéro sinon on n'est pas "normal". Joli film en tout cas.
