    The trackpad stuttering is actually a well-known issue with all T460s, and it’s a driver issue so don’t waste your money on a new trackpad. The solution is quite simple: just disable the trackpoint and the trackpad will work just fine.

    • @MacintoshMen
      @MacintoshMen  3 года назад +9

      HUGE THANKS to you! Man, nobody could tell me that anywhere. I ended up replacing the trackpad anyway because I found a cheap one. Now it's at least not worn anymore.

      @@MacintoshMen Glad I could help. It's a shame Lenovo and Synaptics don't seem to address this issue after countless reports on their support forum. Luckily I turn mine into a hackintosh so I don't have to deal with that. What's funny is a driver made for a non-native OS and developed by some random guy actually works 10x better than the native driver developed by Lenovo themselves.

    I am so glad to see someone appreciating something they have. Most people nowadays dont appreciate shit anymore.. but anyways.. I just bought the same laptop you have and I truly love it very much. I bought it used for 200 bucks with 16 gigs of ram ( I never had that in my life before ) ! its super fast and super clean. I did however have an issue with the touchpad when I first got it .. it had a generic driver installed.. so I randomly installed a third party driver so I could get all the functions of the touchpad .. but it used to get stuck and would stop working altogether!! I ended up going to the original website of Lenovo and downloaded the proper driver for it.. its working (almost) perfectly .. the only thing I cant figure out is that sometimes when I wanna right click.. I would just touch the pad with two fingers and it would work fine .. other times it wouldnt .. I would have to actually press with two fingers to get it to right click.
    I am not complaining here .. not at all .. I am very happy with it ... it does everything I need it to.
    Thank you for sharing this.

      I'm glad you liked the video; for the touchpad I actually got mine dialed in to work perfectly now; I still replaced the original worn out one with a new one, now it looks even better. I still like this laptop a lot and use it eveywhere I go. I might look into replacing the battery because it is getting a bit weaker now but still not terrible.

    This was the very transparent and honest review I was looking for. I am currently using a T420 and looking for a long-term upgrade, been eyeing the T470s but I think it's not much of a big upgrade than the T460s. In short, I am sold mister.

    The physical mouse keys are useful when you use the track point. You use your thumbs on them while you use the trackpoint or the keyboard. This way you dont have to move your hands away from the keyboard.
    If you hold the the middle mouse key down with your thumb you can scroll through a web page or a document with the trackpoint.

    About the sound, and if it is not about your taste, make sure you don't have on any effects. I recently bought this wonderful notebook (with touch screen) and i had a few issues with the sound. In the beginning, i believed the speakers were problematic but then it hit me and i open the sound card options. I found that some echo and other effects were on. Since i turn them off the sound was back to normal! Also the speakers are loud enough in my opinion!
    Also, just in case, something else that i had issue with was the bluetooth. Device manager couldn't find the hardware! Even when i run the test on Lenovo website the result was that my notebook doesn't support bluetooth. After some search i found that there is an option in bios that activates your bluetooth hardware.

    I've got an X260, i7, 16GB, 512GB SSD, 1080p Screen, I agree on the disappointing brightness. Battery life is decent (X260 has dual hot swappable batteries). @hoppysport2872 2 года назад

      I bought a pre-owned T470s a few weeks ago in pristine condition for $175 and absolutely love it! It's basically my road notebook, with my T430s as my home computer.
      The 470s has the i5 6300U, 20 gb of RAM and a 256 NVMe SSD. It's really fast. That said, I'm not a gamer, but is fast for Photoshop and video editing. I wanted the T470s for battery life, something that my T430s lacks.
      My cousin has had the T430 i5 for almost 9 years, connected to the dock, and he runs it 14 hours a day without any issues. What a beast!
      I can't own anything but a ThinkPad because of the TrackPoint mouse. There's nothing like it. I know people with ThinkPads who never use it, not investing the 2 hours of learning curve.
      Back to the T470s...it came with 8gb of RAM and I did the 16 gb upgrade when Crucial had it on sale for $58. Frankly, I haven't noticed a difference between the current 20 gb and 8 gb.
      I've always coveted the X1 Carbon but couldn't justify the price. Then I came upon the almost-as-thin T470s, which weighs 2.9 pounds vs the X1 Carbon's 2.4 pounds. The T460s is the same form factor as the T470s, so it's an either/or scenario.

      In my opinion it is better because the Latitude 7000s have a cooling flaw.

    Hello All I had a T450s Loved it so much super nice in all senses ,, even if is from 2015 was stolen and dont know how hurt ,, and now might buy a T450s or T560s not sure which one Can anybody Help me Please ...l.....

    • @MacintoshMen

      I think T560S is a good choice if you liked the T450s. A 460s is also still good but they are getting a bit older now and if you want native Win11 Support you are out of luck.

      @@MacintoshMen Good for you if like big laptops ,,, enjoy ...what matters is to have a good one for what you do and work and in what, if you want one "with latest Win, graph, SSD etc etc"so basically what you want to show off to others ,,, that is your thing then get a yoga or alike ,,, and about tech gets old before start selling, and after a extremely short time "buy the new model"then enjoy it

      I used Linux Mint years ago and I liked it, however now I'm very happy with Ubuntu. I still like Mint though.

    Would windows 11 run well on this?

    • @MacintoshMen
      @MacintoshMen  Год назад

      It's not officially supported. I ran Win11 on it anyway and it ran OK. Not super great, not slow either. I went back to Win10 because it felt a tad faster than on Win11 (and I also didn't like some changes, first and foremost the stupid new context menu with half the stuff missing).

      Yes, it's work 100% perfect. i use T460s with Windows 11 Pri activated.
      Use a Rufus to create USB Installer and disable Windows 11 processor minimal requirement.

    I don't really know if I can live with dual cores only. I have one nearby to me for 270€ i7-6600u, 20GB ram

    • @MacintoshMen
      @MacintoshMen  2 года назад

      I understand your concern, it really depens what you are doing with it. In my case, Dual Core is just fine, but if it was my primary sytem it would be too slow (there I have a Quad core and it is already pushing it a bit).

      @@MacintoshMen Yeah i am currently trying to hunt for used Dell Latitude 7490s or a T480 in a fairly ok condition. But it is hard to find those in Germany in a higher quantity in comparison to the USA etc.
      Plus people really list the T480/s overpriced on eBay etc. I see prices where I could easily buy myself a budget premium notebook new or a Dell XPS 13 9370 with the same specs but more premium built quality and Infinity Edge Display.

    • @MacintoshMen
      @MacintoshMen  3 года назад

      Yeah that could very well be. I bought it refurbished and I think they fitted a different keyboard because of the keyboard layout (in my case German). Often those laptops come from different countries.

    your accent sounds a little bit german.
    Am i right ?
    It os only a bit in combination with an usa accent.
    And it is your first language now with perfect grammer.
    But there is this little zzz ts you know.
    Irish accent has the german influence but we can hear you live in us.
    Maybe us cititen say,of course german accent.

      I'm actually from Austria, so my native language is German. I've never been to the US (would like to visit though some day). I learned my English mostly by listening to American movies/youtubers/shows, you name it. So that's why I tend to speak more the American English.
