It was so nice to see Jon walking up the sidewalk and not knowing he was being filmed paying attention to the cat and giving it a little rub behind the ears. You can tell he’s an animal person! This garden just takes my breath away... the levels and stone paths, waterfalls, birds chirping,expanses of beautiful lawn surrounded by all the gorgeous plants and flowers . I just want to walk down that grass, in the early morning with no shoes down to that pond.... and talk to God. Amazing... you are blessed.

John is such a careful mulch-layer! I'm impressed as my husband will dump a wheelbarrowl load in one spot & that is as far as he goes. It is lovely to see you two working together so well. What a blessing and the day was so pretty to work outside!

Ohhhh how beautiful! Your gardens are breathtaking. My father was an horticulturist and owned a landscaping business for almost 40 years. I grew up loving the smell of fresh dirt and greenhouses. Your lavender needs 8 hours of sunshine, and not much moisture. Off season, cut back one/third. Thank you so much for this wonderful tour! Blessings! 🌷🌿❣️

I was using a tarp to move some hostas just before watching this video. I thought I was the only one who did that, too.
My tarps are a gardening essential, too. Dragging things is often easier on my back than using a wheelbarrow.
I love to watch you and John work together to beautify your home. Your relationship is so nice to see.

Mary, everything looks beautiful. I too live on a hill filled with rocks that my family has owned since 1973. I’ve lived here since 1981, it takes years but the soil has become better and easier to plant now. You inspire me with ideas for some of my areas remaining to be worked. Very pretty garden. Your son did a great job with his drone too! I tried to grow lavender and after trying for three years gave up. I found it does not like “wet feet” and loves dry, sunny, forget it’s there conditions. Mine are wet and humid thus the fail year after year. I did however find “cats pajamas” or Nepeta which has a beautiful purple blue flower. It might work for you.

I felt I was in another world watching this video. I can see why you love Spring. When all the trees start blooming with different colors. Your garden is so beautiful. I envy you n others as you can grow so many different perennials n annuals in the north. In Florida you don’t have much of a choice unfortunately.
On your lavender, they don’t look to good. They like a dry soil n full sun. My son lives in California n you see just about everyone has lavender in their yard. They do so well in their climate. Mary you are so blessed to wake each morning n see all that beauty. Even your birds are wonderful to watch n so many different kinds n there color. I realize it’s a lot of work to keep everything up but what a beautiful reward it is. I have to comment on the aerial shots of your home n yard they we’re so awesome. It puts everything in perspective. Didn’t know you had a balcony on the second floor. How nice is that.
All I can say is I loved every minute of this video n didn’t want it to end. It was so refreshing n beautiful.

Wonderful video. For your lavender, they need good drainage. They are a Mediterranean Plant. Pull them up & add pea gravel & a little sand to their planting area & then put them back in. I'd use a light liquid fertilizer like a booster after they're back in the ground.

The kitties were a treat (and seeing John give Twinkle some lovies). The birds blew me away! All the flowers and the pond looks so healthy and the drone footage (kuddos to your son!). By far I think this is one of the best I have seen with nature. They are all beautiful but I love Nature. I love watching the beauty of the land and the sound the birds make.
