- There are some moments in life you just can't prepare for, and this comical video shows a man experiencing one such moment.
It unfolded at his friend's wedding while he was eagerly looking forward to being served a slice of cake, as he had at countless weddings before.
However, to his bewilderment, instead of the usual graceful vertical cut, he witnessed the top half of the cake being mercilessly yanked off.
"It was originally a three-layer cake and all three layers were real," the filmer, Breann, revealed to WooGlobe. "The top layer of the cake was saved for the bride and groom and was removed in a similar way, which led me to start recording."

"Dismantled" is right! And in front of the groom? No they should've been sent home without pay; I dont know if that would've been possible. Ugh😮
Dismantled? The right word is butchered cake.
😂😂😂😂❤ever
Maybe they wanted to save the top layer to freeze & eat later (after a year) it’s actually a wedding tradition..
That's not a great wedding cake.
It is tradition to remove the first layer of cake, freeze and eat on on wedding anniversary.
Most wedding cakes have a smaller tier for this.
I've seen cakes taken away to a kitchen for cutting and pieces brought out. I've never seen someone handle a cake like that in the open.
I was about to say that.
I was a cake baker/decorator for over 25 years, made them delivered them, and some were even cut by myself. I'm sure this was a joke for youboob, but I'm telling you, some brides wanted "DUMMY" cakes just for show, not having to worry about anything dropping off from inclement weather inside the hall, or outside for that matter, the cake was wheeled into the kitchen where an exact replica of the flavors of the cake were made in sheet cake form, and the brides first anniversary cake was already boxed and kept in the refrigerator so no fingers or near-do-wells tore it apart. Some brides even opted for the baker to make a fresh cake for their first anniversary, and let me tell you one thing, brides RAVED about this. I retired now, and just make them for friends and family

She doesn't care is exactly what's going on! I wouldn't want her at my wedding!
More like a single mom 😂
She was wearing gloves. And the top layer needs to come off so that the bride and groom can share it on their first anniversary. And the lower layers need to be separated so they can be cut in such a way that the entire cake will be utilized. It's like no one's ever worked for a catering company for a wedding. They run those layers to the back so they can get on plates and tables and I'm bellies.
That’s the loudest silent “WTF!?…. WTF IS GOING ON!?…. WHAT!?” 😂

As a baker myself I can tell you, she's not doing it wrong... but there are better ways. It's a tall and wide cake so usually it has a cardboard in the middle of the layers so it doesn't collapse because of the weight. It was easier to just cutting it while assembled instead of separate it.

You’re supposed to present the cake, then take it in the back and cut it or cut it very professionally. Sometimes you have to take the cake apart because it has tubes or wooden dowels in it and too many layers to cut whole. I’ve had to cut some really terrible wedding cakes in my time. She's saving the top tier for there 1st Anniversary, alot of weddings do this.
People use to freeze the top layer. My husbands brothers wife had cleaned out their freezer, when we went back to retrieve my cake and bouquet, she had thrown everything away without telling us. We were thoroughly pissed off. Bakeries statarted sending out cirtificates to couples to pick up their first Anniversary cakes.
Pro tip for wedding planning. Dont tell a single catering person that it's a wedding. Call it a party or something, otherwise they jack up the price by many magnitudes
That price hike is necessary to:
1. Deal with your insufferable attitude because people don't take kindly to working for next to nothing and being treated like garbage
2. Make sure your food comes out perfectly without any hiccups by making sure we have enough wait staff, cooks and food to prepare or can go and quickly source a replacement
And then you get THIS! 🤣👏🏽👏🏽
Lmao. Tell me your poor without telling me you are poor.
@@marmitaa8619 I do catering, everyone always wants a lavish wedding but on a unrealistic budget. If you can't afford it then you better make some quick choices in your budget and get over yourself or postpone your wedding until you can afford it
Im new to the north americas about to marry. How many dollars is 1 magnitude so i know the savings?

She ripped that cake apart like about to serve a brisket
They’ve payment didn’t go through and she wasn’t tugging it back to the bakery bc she can’t resale it nor can they sue her for not showing up 😂😂😂😂😂
When you invite a butcher instead of a cake cutter 😂
Most butchers are a lot more precise.
bro really stole the top comment and acted like we wouldn’t notice
Reminds me of my aunt in my birthday, she cut small pieces for the guests and took the whole cake and wrapped it in plastic bag then went home with it. 😂
Sounds like my aunt. When having a party she makes small portions bcz she needs all food incl cake, pies etc. to be left over for tomorrow. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
She sounds like a selfish dumb person
Boss aunt
😂
I have family like that. I can’t stand that sort of behavior.
Dude was rendered speechless but that was quite possibly the easiest lip reading I've ever needed to do 😆🤣
She was making a memorable moment you’ll never forget. 😂

Family reunion type story
She is the Ex Wife😂
“She locked eyes with the bride in a display of dominance, the bride froze, the caterer’s look of determination was unrivaled…”
😂😂😂
This sounds like it's either a nature program narrated by Lord Richard Attenborough or a novel leading up to a bow-chicka-bow-wow moment also narrated by Lord Richard Attenborough. 😂
What bride?
Let's just be grateful that she's not just grabbing handfuls &lobbing them onto the plates😂
...or at the guests
I have never seen a wedding cake massacred like that Really crazy 😧
What a disrespectful manner of the lady. She could have cut top sections first.
I think the top is not a cake but it's a styro some doubled cake the top is not a cake.
I would of firef her for doing this😮
So you expect her to lean way over and up high to cut and serve each piece? This is actually correct even if it looked rough.
@@pamlaury9631 the cake isn’t that high. Seriously that’s not good
Que horror de señora
As a chef I’ll tell you what’s going on. Normally the cake is taken back of house to be cut and portioned out for the guests if it is a wedding cake they plan to serve, it is normal to split the layers for taller tiered cakes, then cut the wedges out of it, if you don’t, then you’ll have a foot long wedge of cake on everyone’s plate. And you won’t be able to cut as many portions of cake otherwise.
That’s fair but she just rammed her hand in there and yanked it off. Surely there’s a professional way to do it.... your at a wedding 😂😂
@@shortmaster101 When it's taken back of house, we would use a pallet knife to make a clean cut between the layers especially if there is fondant which is not what she did. simply put, this was done by someone who didn't care much for presentation. She handled the cake very poorly which makes sense why the attendants were baffled.
Don’t they usually send the top tier home with the bride and groom? I used to DJ and I’ve seen it done that way many times. The top tier always being the smallest and also with the figurines is boxed and sent home with the newlyweds to enjoy later with each other lol.
@@phatecThank you. I didn't know WTF was going on. What's fondant though?
@@salaciousBastardgoogle it
I just wanna know how much trouble she got in and see all the backlash the guests gave her 😭
She was saving the top for them; the bride and groom eat the top of the cake on their one year anniversary for good luck
@@jeffam217 what kind of etiquette is that, though? removing the cake when she could’ve just cut it. Desecrating the cake doesn’t seem like a push for good luck to me lol
It would make more sense to remove it when the guests aren’t still expecting to be served cake. And probably in the kitchen where they don’t see this atrocious handling lol
@@jeffam217Now that makes sense...However, they should've let their guests know to prevent the confusion and horrified looks.
@@lo.lo_marieWhat difference does it make? He got a nice slice and most likely enjoyed it. 🤭🤣😂😁
@@allyssacook5350 nothing to me, But the guests look concerned. And I wouldn’t want to pay for a poor service🤷🏽♀️
*The Top half is ME!! You can have the leftovers.* 😭🤣
That’s the reason most wedding cakes are layered going upwards. You’re supposed to save the top layer in the freezer and then have it on your first wedding anniversary.
Yes a much smaller top usually made with that intent. Not just chopping the entire top layer off of a cake the has the same size layers!!
Не хотелось бы мне есть торт годичной давности, фууу😂
Why would you save a cake for a year and then eat ??

She's using the cake knife like she's plunging a toilet bowl. 😮
To be fair she did make it look like a potty
The top part of cake was fake to save money , just bottom half was eatable. Usually they would take cake to cut in the kitchen so people won't notice.
Maybe she forgot which job she was at.
😂
@sarahwithell8362 isn't it's usually the top portion that's real and the bottom half is used to make the cake on top look larger and hold it stable?
That's how I've always done it. Than there's no need for such displays of violence.
The look on the grooms face was priceless 😂
