Love my 2021 Taco. Went with access cab with long bed, V6. I needed a good reliable and durable truck, to use it like a truck and keep it forever.
This is the exact model and color I have being built in August. I am so friggin' stoked to get it!!! Thanks for the review.
I just bought a 2022 Toyota Tacoma SR5 V6, and it's great. I can see and feel the quality. Comfortable seats, rides smooth, great power for freeways. Best of all I don't have to worry about it falling apart like a Chevy or GMC after a year or two. I don't abuse my truck either by going over rocks and ruts. Toyota Tacoma is perfect for me. 😁
Just put a deposit for the 4x4 version of this truck with the dealership. Salesmen said 2 months wait time from build date. Can’t wait! Thanks for the awesome review!
I just got the 4cyl SR. I refuse to spend close to 40k for a small truck.
I got the same, I agree with you.
Full-size pick ups are 50k+ everything is going up in price
The SR5 with the V6 is the best value. 34k plus.
The new Ford F150 Raptor is a whopping $100,000. BMW 7-series price.
4cyl is a tough pill to swallow
Great job Ben!
The rear window opens. Its power operated on all sr5 and up double cabs that have a v6 engine.
Well done review Ben
I just bought a 23 SR5 short bed.
I LOVE THIS TRUCK
It everything I wanted and more.
Much cheaper than the TRD Sport.
I really like that color. I bought a TRD Sport in Lunar Rock but my second choice was that grey. It looks awesome when it is clean and waxed. Are they charging more than MSRP for that trunk? When I bought mine back in April, almost every dealer wanted $5000 over MSRP for a taco. It took me 11 dealerships until I found one for only $3000 over. It was a nightmare but I got the truck I wanted with the features I wanted.
This is what I need small truck love the styling but I honestly would love this more if it was the access cab it'd be sold .
Great video
I have the exact same truck .I absolutely love it but one function you missed because it wasn’t dark out is the high beams will automatically go to low beam when there is oncoming traffic then go back to high beam after they pass
That’s sick asf I been looking at it for a while might get me one next week
I have the 2015 PreRunner V6 SR-5 (RWD), and it handles without any kinds of problem in NYC rain and curbside street ankle-high flooding.
Edit: It handles just like normal in Nor-Easter Thunderstorms on the highway too. I feel like the only way you'd feel an actual difference would be in true offroading.
Purchased the same exact trim and options. In May for $36kmsrp + $2k mark up in so Cal. Lover the truck but dang that’s a lot of money.
Found a used 36k miles for 33k. Think thats a solid deal?
The access cab sr5 doesn’t come with the automatic rear window. I guess they figured you could just reach back
how is this sr5 compared to the sport or off-road ??
How to turn off the aircon? Got my tacoma
I didn't think the SR5 came with remote start...? Was that a mistake or does it really have it?
wow, i just bought a 2021 tacoma v6 sr5 with 4-wheel drive and the 6-foot bed and it had 9,900 miles.... i paid a lot more than that...
Seems like a nice durable ride.
Ben , also I hear there changing the taco ? Have you heard / seen anything on this subject! Maybe 4 liter ,8 speed little long more leg room for rear seat , new nose thxs.
Turbo 4 cylinder
I know alot of people complain that toyota is behind the times on features but i like it the way it is. I wouldn't tow more than 5,000 pounds with it or any midsize truck anyway, The sr5 is more than enough truck for me. Would i like a tundra sr yes but i don't like the twin turbochargers as far as replacement if they break. I googled how much it would cost off warranty and came up with 7 to 8 thousand dollars. I was like yikes not a longterm truck for me. I know the next tacoma is supposed to have a 2.4L 4 cylinder with one turbo will be costly enough by it self.
“Normal Toyota styling”. Translation this body style has been around forever. Past time for an update
Lol
I just got one but it sounds loud
Maverick is very tempting but the reliability, resale value, history, and capabilities of the Tacoma beat it out for me, I wanna use this for off roading/camping eventually and I can’t see the shorter, smaller, unibody frame Maverick doing that, also, it’s engine options aren’t exactly “reliable”, they have some of the worst history behind em
Over $700 a month with perfect credit, good luck
Got mine yesterday with good credit for $530 a month only paid 36k out the door with the same packages .
I really would like to buy a newer tacoma but damn interest who the hell would pay over 500 a month
This is a ridiculous price for this truck. My 21 V6 TRD OR 4x4 cost me $34k out the door.
The difference between 2wd and 4x4 will be highly noticeable when its winter🫠...
I had that exact vehicle, same color too but 2018 model. It sucked at towing 5k lbs, and was horrendous with gas mileage. The transmission was pretty bad over 45 mph (hunting for gears).
Toyota needs to bring the 4 liter engine back, bring in a 8 speed auto, or get a manual. I'd be interested if they electrified it.
Electrify? Gross
Had a 18 tacoma an i agree with you.I just bought a22 tacoma its like night an day .The 22 runs so much better. It gets good gas mileage. They must have reprogram the engine an transmission. There's no comparison .
@@dannyblair8269 they did have an update with the transmission in 2019 I believe. It's software based so anyone could get it updated.
It's also an adaptive transmission so the more you drive the better it gets. 5500 miles is when mine smoothed out and now at 17k miles it's barely noticeable.
..... electric?? You must work for the EPA org bullshit. 🙄🙄
I have a Toyota dealership a mile from me they don’t have any new trucks or SUV and maybe 4 cars rest is used. I believe those trucks are just too small and under power
Agreed. I’ve had several tacos and a tundra. I just traded my tundra for a 2022 Honda Ridgeline black edition. This thing blows the Tacoma away in all departments except off road capabilities. I test drove a 2022 Taco trd pro and I hated it. Underpowered, uncomfortable, small bed and horrible seat position. I’m 6’2 and I can’t do the seats on the floor with Toyotas any longer. Btw the payload on my Ridgeline is 1600lbs. I only need a truck to haul dirt bikes and was tired of the mpg and size of the tundra. After the disappointment with the new tundra I won’t be doing Toyota any time soon.
You lost me at 36k for a 2wd base truck
Too much electronic garbage. I want a truck to work with. They should have invested more in tow capacity and payload.
4x2 ... that's hilarious!
Why is that? Some (many) have precisely zero reason for 4x4. Since it’s a part-time 4x4 & not AWD, even if you have a 4x4 ya ain’t a-riding around with it engaged so you’re utilizing a 4x2 dynamic the VAST majority of the time. Have a need? Awesome, get you one. No need, pay the difference?
@@PaulHosierJSP Agreed. I sought out the 4x2 Access Cab and purchased the only one I’ve seen on a local lot in almost a year. Loving it.
Just rented one. Super outdated. It would be ok if this was 2010. The seat sits so low it’s horrible. Sluggish engine. Cant believe people like these things.
