Reach was surprisingly easy to LASO. T&R was insane, but after going through that I could easily get to the Library on my own. Now just have to wait patiently for the new guide.

Yeah I'm not looking forward to that. But isn't it H2 even harder to speedrun on Legendary than playing it on LASO? I remember someone saying that more people have the achievement for beating LASO in all MCC campaigns than they have a Legendary Speedrun from H2.
@@ToveriJuri A lot of the people with LASO achievements have gotten them from someone sharing a checkpoint with them, so the numbers of how many people have actually completed the LASO achievements are greatly inaccurate. That said completing H2 under 3 hours on legendary is also ridiculously hard, I'm not sure which one I'd prefer to do, H2 LASO or completing it under 3 hours.
H3, ODST, Reach and H4 are nowhere as hard as CE and H2. I'm now almost done with the CE (I've had a great rng so far) but the next on the list H2 LASO really terrifies me.

Ah right. The checkpoint bypass. Forgot that was a thing. Sucks that people can just bypass the entire thing like that. What's the point anyway. What do they get out of it? So they can lie on the internet that they beat LASO? lol.
The fact you can’t use covenant weapons in CE also makes this so much harder

Honestly this. There was one section where I thought I was fucked. I had like 200 AR bullets, no frags, no sniper ammo. Managed to perfect my strategy so that I could kill grunts in minimal bullets and assassinate as many other enemies as possible so I could reach the next ammo station. Holy hell I was for sure thinking I needed to reset.
Took me and my friend 7 hours to beat this mission and I would’ve rather smashed my testicles with a rock then do this level again
This dudes runs are always like " it's totally random but it just so happens that it all worked out perfectly for me".

i mean if you replay the level 50+ times you’re bound to eventually get some luck
I mean you can see in the video that the element of the HUD he's missing changes at multiple points, so even when recording this guide he died some. So not perfect even for him. E.g. 19:46, 28:57 and 40:10. And those are just the times he let himself die. He could've had even more resets if he saved and quit right before dying or messing up something important.
I love how you always seem to kill a jackal with one smack yet it takes me 10 hits
FR! is there any trick to it? It seems he's even hitting them on their shield and they die. I hit them all over and it takes 3 hits to break their shield, and then they can just body 3 more from me. I've even had one running away and i had to hit it 2 times in the back after a full mag from my AR
@@EvanTheShade It's either they haven't spotted him, or they're injured. If the jackals haven't detected you, then they die in one smack if you punch them and not their shields. If they're injured enough, they'll die in 1 smack.
What about shooting them? He kills them 1 sniper shot me 2 shots if I'm lucky and 4 if I'm not good. 3 is my average

I heard heavenly choir music playing in my head as I happily skipped across the beach in The Silent Cartographer after suffering this absolute HELL of a mission.
This mission is so frustrating, a friend and I spend around 3 hours getting into the hanger only to realize that we didn't have enough ammo to survive in the hanger.

Gotta remember the infinite ammo glitch, there's ARs, Magnums, and hopefully Snipers for doing it
@@InvadeleYogurt Yes, the infinite ammo glitch helps. It's still one of the hardest LASO missions though. It takes a lot of patience.

@@timdelage8098 I believe there's a few in the level, snipers comes in ammo so you'll have to use the glitch to maintain ammo

Doing a solo run currently of all three, and I think the biggest tip I can give is be patient. Work towards individual checkpoints, do not rush. Take a breather everytime you get to a checkpoint.
Thanks for this. Finally beat this bastard level and am now sailing through Silent Cartographer. Anyone struggling on that first fight in the ship: unless you are Chief himself then you need to be blessed with good RNG. At 21:30 when Silver sees no enemies, I literally had the entire horde chilling there. One grenade netted me about 20-30 kills and there were only a few grunts and one elite to mop up in the main room. Say your prayers and eventually RNGesus will shine his light upon you.
RNGesus is a fickle god who has given me no such luck :(
@@johnnyboy3390 Keep trying mate and you'll get it eventually. Don't know if this applies to you but one big error I was making is going too far down either ramp too soon when you're waiting for everything to spawn (even once the music changes). Once I started shooting from the top of the ramps rather than the doors, things went alot smoother.
Cd McCarthy so I finally got blessed with amazing luck and got to kill most the enemies through the grenade door, now I'm stuck at the bridge with the two elites + golden elite. I've probably spent more time here then anywhere else on the mission

@@johnnyboy3390 Nicely done man that's good to hear. Those gold elites are honestly the stuff of nightmares. Currently working through the Library but it seems very doable compared to Truth and Reconciliation. Honestly feel like once you've managed Truth and Rec, you can fly through the rest. Although I haven't played Two Betrayals yet...
Cd McCarthy so I beat Halo CE, I had the hardest time getting the work around on AotCR, but holy hell I did it. The Library and mission after were long and tedious but no where compared to the crap going through TaR was.
But let me tell you, Halo 2 LASO is the thing of nightmares. Hitler is probably in hell stuck with having to play through Halo 2 LASO.
After maybe 30 tries in the beginning of the ship I got the perfect RNG - all gold elites in one corridor with a ton of grunts, two grenades and everything went kaboom ! Thanks for the yet again perfect guide, Silver !

laso’d all the halos thanks to your guides. This is the hardest mission in MCC to laso, with the exception of gravemind and cairo station in halo 2. pushing johnson around cairo for hours was infuriating
Don’t be overwhelmed by all the negative comments; follow the guide closely and you’ll complete this mission in a day or so if you’ve been doing the lasos in order. A few extra tips though:
When you get into the belly, learn the RNG manipulation patterns. Moving a certain way can influence the spawn of the first elite. I found a way to hold the thumb stick in a specific way so that it spawns the elite in the right door every time.
Be patient with belly. It WILL take a lot of time, and a lot of random factors will influence whether or not you make it. Sometimes the elites follow you. Sometimes grunts spawn where they shouldn’t. Sometimes grunts don’t blow up who they should. I struggled for a long time with ammo before by some miracle I managed to clear the whole belly with 16 spare sniper shots.
Don’t be too intimidated by the double nade jump. It’s actually not bad. Just line up the edge of the crates so that it looks just like his screen right before he throws, then copy him.
Control room (one with patrolling gold elite in the middle) is harder than it looks. Take out the first two elites, then retreat and pick off a few grunts. If goldie starts to follow you, snipe him BEFORE he gets to a door, this might get him to back away.
Last room is also a little harder than expected. Look where he backsmacks the elites precisely. Backsmacks aren’t forgiving, so you have to melee in the right place.

You can plan and take this mission carefully and methodically to make progress, Gravemind has sections you can breeze thru but some brick walls that are harder to chip away through than this mission. I'd say even Cairo Station in H2 is worse than this mission.

I have played Halo for close to 20 years and I have never attempted LASO before. I beat the first 4 missions in ~5 hours yesterday but only because of your awesome videos ❤️ thanks for being so descriptive and thorough!

I think I have an improvement for the elevator room - The bit where you say you usually have to throw a couple nades at a group of enemies that spawn in the opposite hallway after you do the long wait to spawn all enemies.
ignore this guide and *don't nade them*. open the door, alert them, then close the door and go hide again for a few seconds. Maybe repeat this once or twice if there are any still there.
Like he says - the enemies don't like hanging out in the hallways. They'll prefer to run down into the elevator room. You can save a couple nades *and* get maybe 3-5 more grunts to run down into the main room. Your primary goal here is to create as much chaos as possible so you can take out all the elites. For this, you want to maximise your grenade count and maximise the concentration of grunts in the main room. Nading the group away from the main room takes one or two nades and thins out the grunts, so it is just a bad strategy when you can let them run into the main room and be a bit more likely to take out all the elites in the chain reaction.
In my experience trying it a few times, its actually a *lot* more likely to succeed this way, not just a bit. I don't think it is coincidence that Silver's successful example had no grunts naded there. Runs where you nade hallway enemies are maybe half as likely to succeed or even less.
Maybe there is a really good reason for not doing this, but I can't find it. My best guess is that this is a carryover habit Silver has from old strats involving picking up the camo and backsmacking the elites. I don't know why else you would do it.
If anyone can think of a reason *not* to do this please let me know.
Agreed, I came to this same conclusion during my attempt at this mission too. Grunts are double-edged swords in CE Laso, and to kill them next to only a few Jackals is a waste of resources (the grunts being the resource) compared to killing them in a room packed with grunts, jackals, and sword elites.
That hangar budget grenade jump skip is a live saver

finally beat this, it was brutal. you make it look easy how you never run out of sniper ammo and never take health damage.
I did it with a friend, the level is still a total pain in the ass. We gave up atleast three times! And spent 3 hours per try, now the fourth time we finally did it. Your guide helped alot thank you!! :)
This guide saved my ass from when i was attempting to do this coop with a buddy.... This level is so hard, it feels like an entirely different game.
This guide was absolutely invaluable. I had to try many times due to bad RNG, but your methods eventually saw me through to the end of the level, so thank you. I do not find it surprising that this is the most viewed video in his CE LASO guide series, lol. What a horrific level.
Hey just wanted to let you know that after hours and hours and hours I finally got through this, but I definitely wouldn't have managed without this guide, so thank you so much!
Holy shit! I did it! Couldn't pull off the double grenade jump so had to fight my way to Keyes and had 8 shots worth of sniper ammo plus grenades to fight from the cells to the hanger switch. no-scoped the 3 camo elites in the control room one by one as they came out of the door to kill Keyes who was just standing there looking at me, which I guess beats shooting me in the back with his needler and then threw some grenades in to kill the grunts when they were waiting on the other side of the door. I had 3 sniper shots and 2 grenades to deal with the grunts and elite in the hanger. Man, that was seriously an absolute f'ing nightmare lol. I know I couldn't have done this without your guide.
I could not imagine restarting from the beginning of the mission thanks to yout tip. The amount of times I've had to reset from last checkpoint or died is too much for the real rules.
Started doing CE LASO almost instantly after beating it on legendary and beating all the par times. Until this level it seemed pretty simple and easy, the first ship room is a really frustrating part, felt like any time there were only a few elites they would spawn in the most unlucky positions and I'd get surrounded from three directions at once. The best I did was killing 5 of them, but there were still 3 or 4 left and I had no ammo and camo was spent too. I noticed you can stun their sword attack by jumping and meleeing at the same time, although the timing needs to be absolutely perfect and if you face two at once it's never gonna work.
Passed it, tho I had to use the camo to take out the last 4 sword elites. Then I just sneaked past enemies to the health kit in the next hangar area and continued the level normally. Getting Keyes out in one piece was actually even harder than the sword elites, probably took 4-5 times more attempts.
Just completed this mission watching your previous video of Like a Fine Wine achievement.. You are doing an amazing job!
This is absolute hell help me dear God. 3 1/2 hours and I'm right back at the beginning of the mission

I finally made it thanks to this guide. Only thing i did differently was that i took the invis in the lift room to backsmack the Golden Elites instead of using it to bypass the enemys. Tbh finishing this mission didn't even feel good. I had to restart twice over because i ran completely out of sniper ammo in the ship and died so may times that i am quite literally too dead inside to feel anything anymore. I took 13+ hours...
Took me a full day and alot of pauses and breaks to precisely go over silvers strats. Had decent RNG and managed to complete it in just over an hour but holy shit that was brutal
Holy fuck I finally beat the lift section, keep trying bois, your time will come. Godspeed

I did Reach Laso previously and the first two missions of Halo 1. But THIS?! I am not even able to enter the covenant ship, this mission makes me furious. I am glad I quit smoking last year, otherwise I would've had smoked a whole pallet while doing this mission in the last days :'D
This is one of the toughest missions in ALL of Halo, let alone CE. Once you get past this one it gets a lot easier again, until The Library and Two Betrayals toughen it up again.

I got past the initial section of the ship after a full day of trying but whwn I got to the hangar that's shen I just couldn't take it anymore. Not much I can do when i have 1 health, no shields and AR only to take on the entire hangar section.
@Halo Completionist wait a minute... so you’re tellin me that this is the HARDEST MISSION IN HALO!
This guide is a bit ambitious when it comes to the hangar strats. There's no guarantee Elites won't be waiting for you in those hallways when going back and forth, etc. No consistent strats for that section. You just gotta get gud and get lucky.
I've had To kill an extra elite in a turret straight on my right for the despawn trick in the beginning, still worked. Thanks for the tips !
Your grenade jump tutorial allowed me to finally beat this one
The waves before the grav lift and then the first room in the ship with waves of gold sword elites took the longest. The rest was a breeze, except for keys dying over and over. Thanks for the updated guide silver.
It took my like two hours to make that jump TWO HOURS!!! At 30:45

I can make the jump consistently but it takes me to no shields & 1 red bar. Idk how he makes it up all blue
Wow this level was something else. I started doing laso a couple weeks ago bc I found your videos and needless to say this level took me a week off and on to finish it. Lots of restarting, lots of dying on the first ship battle. I can say though the first part on the ground I can basically do with my eyes closed bc I did it so many times. Thank you for your guide!! Loving the grind so far
Reach took me three days to complete thanks to you. This mission took me a week. There’s so much RNG, luck and skill needed.
HELPFUL TIPS:
Definitely easier with a friend, and my tips are exclusively for those who are playing co-op.
In the hanger, if one person stays inside one of the doors where the enemies spawn after you cross the middle portion on the 2nd and 3rd level, it will despawn all the enemies that come out of that door (works on first level too). My friend and I despawned the enemies that would come from behind us so we wouldn't get sandwiched in this way on levels 2 and three of the hanger.
Another helpful tip, on the 3rd level (immediately after you enter it through the door) you will see two grunts and an elite at the end of the hall, if one person sits down by the box on the left and the other one shots his AR once at the elite, it will rush over and stand right in front of the player crouching by the box (behind the pillar as well), and he can assassinate the elite without wasting amo.
When initially opening the door to the 2nd level with the camo elites, one player can backtrack back to level 1 and see all the level 2 enemies with the sniper and can pick off the grunts there to kill all the enemies (make sure that you are hiding behind the middle structure as they'll immediately shoot at you once you kill one grunt, or even if they just see you, so you can use the middle structure that divides the hanger as a shield.
On the 3rd level, after you fight the first wave of enemies on the 3rd level at the end of the level 3 hanger, more enemies will come out of the last door on level 3, in addition to this, enemies will come from behind from door 2 on level 3, the only way to open door 2 (the one where the elite and two grunts were in when you entered level 3 initially) is to have a grunt (not sure if a jackal will work) walk near it, you can kill all the enemies on level 3 besides a grunt, let him walk near the door and have your friend run into the door while it's open, it'll despawn the elite and two grunts that will run out of this door and ambush you from behind, while the other player runs down the hall and hides behind the crates, after your teammate passes the mid point of level 3, you can leave the door and they won't spawn after leaving to assist your friend in killing the remaining level 3 hanger enemies (which will be two jackals and an elite).
These are not shown in video, these tips were found by gamtertags: "Zorc Freeks" and "Uniqiedeath1".
You talked a lot about the different hangar levels which is nice. But any tips on the first room with the wraith on coop?
@@FalcoAcePilot Don't do what halo completionist does where he takes out several of the enemies inside the hallway first before they all group up in the middle of the room, you want all the enemies in that one room int he center where the wraith is so you can kill a few grunts and cause a massive chain explosion to kill everyone. If any elites survive one of your friends has to distract it while the other back smacks it. I don't even recall back smacking the first camo elite that comes out of the door, I just sprinted right for the hallway once the door opened, hid there 5 minutes till all the enemies grouped up in the m iddle of the room, then caused a chain reaction to kill em all and any elites left were back smacked (or sniped an't recall if sniper damages those elites still).

I wasnt sure if that would work cause I had the impression a wave only spawns after the previous one is defeated.

I didnt have any sniper ammo at the part where you find Keyes, so when I toss the frag at the entering elites, they shrug it off and insta kill Keyes before I can get into the cell with ammo. I'm in an endless loop of Keyes dying 5 seconds after the cutscene is over
Before the keys room there's another prison area that has ammo. I can't remember if there's sniper ammo there or not. I know there is health and assault rifle ammo maybe grenades too.
No! Without the captain, the Covenant have already won.

The pain of resetting before you die because an enemy saw through your Camo, only for the game to ignore your checkpoint and restart the level anyway. It's enough to drive you mad.
Didn't have that happen once on Pillar of Autumn or Halo, but Truth and Reconciliation has done that to me twice aboard the ship, one of which was right after I managed to get past those hunters for the first time.
Joke65 and Friends! Same shit happened with me, I was sooooo pissed when I saw the opening cutscene after getting past hunters and first room on ship. I think it’s bugged on PC so mission has random chance to restart

I was using your old guide about a month ago to do this level and I gave up after several hours on this level. I came back after you reposted this vid and I beat the lift room first try with no reticle thanks to the malfunction skull. My reaction to beating the lift room was glorious

Last christmas i did LASO reach thanks to you. Actually, had to do it twice cause if you don't play it from the playlist you don't get the steam achievement...
Anyway, thanks again for updating CE LASO. i'm glad i'm done with this mission... Captain Keyes was worst than the first ship room for me... they really had to give him a needler...
Bro me and my buddy did it without the playlist not knowing we wouldnt get the achievement a few years ago, just recently beat it again this year and ive never been so happy to get an achievement in my life
To anyone struggling with getting everything to spawn in correctly in the lift room: just make sure as soon and you get in the hallway you rub yourself on the door and wall
Like he shows and then double back to the hiding spot he shows and wait about a minute. The music should kick in but don’t get anxious or move even if the door is open, and make sure you stay there for at least another minute or two. Once I started doing this I was reliably having like 12 grunts spawn in the hallway like he was expecting in the video and then once I dealt with them I cleared the entire lift room with a single shot and only had 2 1 shot elite sword guys to deal with. I ended with 18 shots in my gun and 4 frags still . Hope this helps
Just going back to do the 46 mission laso playlist that has all 4 laso's back to back. Ages ago i did half of h1 laso with my best friend in high-school.
32:05 no matter what I did I couldn't get them to despawn so I had to kill everyone. When I got into the ship that area that you told that may spawn enemies? Two waves spawned in, both with gold elites.
It took me 10 mins to get the double grenade jump. All in all, it took me 3:45 hours while when I was in high-school co-op it took us 8 lol. Thank you for the help

I got it done in about 4 hours of real time, a little under an hour of in-game time. I got screwed over by bad checkpoints a bunch of times, I thought for sure I’d need to start over, so glad it’s done

Finally done it after about 4 hours since I had to restart a bunch of times mostly because I had such an insignificant amount of sniper ammo once I got to the ship to the point where it got me stuck. Once I lost my ammo I had no choice but to use the camo on the last few golden elites which really took a toll on me since I could no longer skip the enemies in the halls and by the wraith. But I somehow managed to survive even without it. Everything else was a breeze. I was surprised to get the grenade jump done in only 4 tries and never had a problem with Keyes dying too much. But tbh, I wouldn't have done it without this guide. Good job!
Gotta say: I'm nowhere near skilled enough for a LASO run yet, but these videos have given me a fighting chance at Legendary in general. Well done. I'll keep practicing.
I've started Halo CE LASO just cuz I was bored,I beat pillar of autumn with your guide,then I put down LASO 4 months later,I've beat Halo,and my biggest accomplishment yet,Truth and Reconciliation LASO,thank you,I'm going to keep doing LASO.
I took my 5 days to get that gravity room done. The RNG was God awful, but I can officially say I am now amongst the few who have beaten this cursed mission.
Halo Completionist might have forgot to mention the detail below in my previous post, but he does one hell of a job and I wouldn't have been able to point this detail out without his guide, so all the credit goes to him ❤

@@noyes715 thats the hardest part in my opinion, try saving as much ammo as you can in the beginning then when at the ship clean as many waves as you can with the marines (headshot a grunt when they fall or time a granade at the gravlift), then when you feel you are fucked take the ammo and run back to the tunnel Silver showed in his video and take it slow from now on, burst fire your Ar at the enemies and you should be good, might need some practise to pull off tho. I already beat all games on laso and i still think its the hardest level in the whole series, halo 2 Gravemind maybe took me longer but TnR gave me the biggest headache

I’m now stuck in the first room in the ship and not outside! 😅 Fr tho, the sword elites never come out of the right side of the wraith, and if they do, it’s the second elite with a bunch of grunts or jackals. Then if that happens, it’s always the door you’re supposed to rub against to spawn in the enemies. Also sword elites keep running into the hallway from a door that I would leave like 2 mins afterwards, it’s very annoying. Any tips for just this section?

This one is so difficult.
I had multiple issues from losing my checkpoint with save&quit, making me restart even when I didn't die and reloaded the save (fixed by uninstalling all dlc except for Halo CE)
Sometimes the zone before the grav lift wouldn't despawn even after only killing those 4
The first room after the grav lift I got very unlucky with grunt explosions, usually leaving gold elites alive
And when I finaly made that checkpoint I had 0 sniper and 2 hunters to melee. I strafe fought them in the corrider before the ramp going down. The second patiently waited his turn.
Every bullet counted in this one. Great guides that still hold up today.
Also, not sure if it does anything but I limited fps to 60 and turned off v-sync. Not sure if that does anything but the covenant were firing their guns super quick.
I feel like I died less after the change, but it could just be that I took it slower.

this level is a nightmare on laso. this makes the previous two levels feel easy by comparison. i'm still stuck in the first room on the ship the one where all the doors open with a shitload of gold sword elites.

The fact that you beat this on also faster than I beat it regularly on legendary proves how much of a god you are. Good job. Also. Blind shouldn’t be a skull on the other halos, it’s kinda stupid.

Spent around 5 hours on this mission, lmao that lift room alone took me about 3 hours. All I can recommend alongside this guide is to smack your way into the first door that opens to those hallways but also allowing as many grunts as you can into the main room for more chain explosions, always change your position between hallways, make all your shots count but make sure to least save one sniper bullet to kill a hunter.
It's still very RNG though. Can't tell you how many I had zealots spawn behind red doors in front of me or just straight up make a beeline for me sometimes in groups of 2 or 3. That lift room was hell, but it's pretty much the only difficult part of the mission and the rest was smooth-sailing, at least for me. Glad to be done with it. :D

Your guide helped me get through T&R. a note for that last room with three invis sword elites, It seems when I walked in and went toward the ramp. as long as I got them to go toward the left side of the platform, all three would get stuck and I could kill them without having them get close. This was fortunate considering I had already used the camo to free keyes.
Incase no one has mentioned it, Truth and Reconciliation, at least on PC, has a problem with the Save and Quit Method to ensure you don't lose your spot in the mission. That being said this guide helped so much, i was able to complete this mission first try just copying him. Definitely recommend this for people trying to finish this mission fr
Man, at 7:30 I cannot for the life of me assassinate the jackals and snipe the elite without being spotted.
It doesnt matter just beat them To death then shoot grunt ans elite and rush camo, u'll take a few hit but it's fine. Hope u got through since that tho

So I'm the Grav Lift room, I noticed you can kinda manipulate the door the elite comes out. I also learned if you are persistent enough and stand in the corner against the railing for a long time, I waited 4-5 minutes. I looked through that door you said normally has enemies. Well I had like 20+ enemies on top of each other and naded them and cleared it out insanely quick. Keeping keyes alive was my only obatacle. Took like 20 reloads to keep keyes from being exploded. Very useful guide
I don't know if I'll ever watch silent cartographer laso but you've got me to the grav lift area so that's my new record
I still can't believe I made it through this hell of a level. Everything went to shit from the very beginning, but I still pushed on, determined to make it this time. When I got to the ship, things did not go in my favor and I was actually forced to use the camo early just to kill the two remaining gold elites. I don't know how I got through the Keyes escort part either, because the AI kept getting itself killed all the fricking time. You can not imagine the amount of happiness I felt once I passed this mission.
Took a couple of months of on and off playing to get past the grav lift room, but I finally finished it. That room is seriously the hardest part of the level. Rubbing against the door frame is absolutely necessary. Ideally, you want to wait a couple more minutes after the drum music starts playing before you start engaging. It’s a balancing act between watching for and sniping weakened gold elites from gruntsplosions and switching between left and right hallways to avoid charging elites. If the enemies are consistently running around the room, there’s a good chance more will die from explosions. It’s probably impossible to get through if most of them are standing still.
I think Silver should revisit this guide with the wraith clip to ceiling bounce trick. I’ve seen Garish and Maxlew do it during their MCC laso runs. I tried, but couldn’t figure it out.
This skip eliminates the rng in this room and is much more consistent IMO.
Unfortunately, the only tutorial I could find for the trick is Garish’ tutorial on non-MCC Halo CE. The textures used to line things up don’t seem to match between the versions, so it’s really hard to know if I’m doing something right.
