What's so great about the beginning is that as a kid. I always tried to run fast enough to avoid the covenant patrol ship. Obviously, it failed. But the grenade jump to despawn the enemies in the beginning brings a hope I had as a kid to something that is possible today. This is coming from the guy who spend hours split-screening sword jumping out of bounds and on top of buildings just to find the invisible button for the yellow warthog. This was just one method tried.. lol
Bro....that golden warthog. I spent an entire weekend breaking out of Headlong and climbing all over those buildings in search of that button, too! Wish they put one in the re-made version of that map for Reach. Would have been a great call back.
to be fair the dropship is easy to avoid, you can just run. The banshees fly away once you get past a certain point, too.

@@PruppetMaster Just did it a few minutes ago, both despawns shown in the video worked. For the frag jump you can’t move even an inch towards the left or it won’t work, you also can’t lose a second

I know this is an older video lol but grenades won't actually count as betrayals towards the marines. Grenade kills are considered accidental and they won't be counted against you in terms of them turning against you. Amazing video!
technically it can count as a betrayal: if they're not in combat it still adds 1 point to the aggro counter (shooting them out of combat is +3, shooting them in combat is +1, grenading/splattering them in combat is +0, 5 points = marines angry, points of aggro decay over time based on difficulty)
The grenade jump in the beginning is infuriating to me.
Same, I finally got it on a playthrough and right at the end of the mission I forgot to save/quit and started all the fuck over....
Needless to say I did not have the patience to try that grenade trick again
The timing of the jump is really crucial. After 20 restarts I finally nailed the timing.
I beat this mission on laso and I didn't need that jump to get through that part. The most useful part of this guide for me was the 3 elite skip indoors. That got me past a part I got stuck on. IMO, I like using these guides when I'm truly stuck on something. I do realize that this may make me miss skips that may force me to restart a mission if I want to do it the guide's way. But I like the experience of trying to figure it out myself. I'm now on the beginning of Truth and Reconciliation LASO. I know this one is gonna hurt from my Legendary playthrough.
It’s real easy.
I got it first try, wasted a lot of ammo on the first wave, and I reverted to last save, but didn't get a checkpoint. Proceeded to miss that grenade jump 15 times.
Must resist the temptation to punch grunts
My pistol seems to be allergic to hitting enemies

Remember, it probably took him a few takes to get a good run! The first firefight of this level is the hard part.
For anyone trying this, the jump on the invisible ledge to despawn 4th and 5th wave is easier in anniversary graphics, because the ledge is actually visible there
A friend and I spent 8 hours beating Truth and Reconciliation this past weekend, I can't wait to see your next video and see how much easier it could have been.
Keys: I am the most important person on this ring, and also the easiest to kill. I know! I will lead the charge into that room of exploding grunts!

One thing to keep in mind is that it's much easier to do the infinite ammo glitch by double tapping reload before picking up the weapon. You don't need to time it or anything.
If you are having problems with the jump at 9:20, it’s easier if you switch to Anniversary graphics and look just a bit to the right of that spot. You will se a little ledge on which you can easily jump without even crouching. You just have to look at the spot silver’s watching and turn to the right, following the cliff

So with that first grenade jump, because of the skulls on, you can actually throw it on the ground in the river instead of at your feet and it will still propel you high enough to get up the ledge. Was far easier for me than getting it stuck in the corner. Just thought I'd throw this in here if anyone has trouble with it.

9:14 - I failed that jump 30/40 times, so they just dropped me the warthog and all of the enemies disappears 😂🤣😅, thanks for the guides man.
I'm so glad I've decided to use your guides I've learned so much about glitches and exploits I never knew about and have noticed I've become a much better Halo player thanks to it!

A tip for the grenade jumping: Try doing it on a normal play through to get the timing down before doing it on LASO

I thought I'd track back all the way to the beginning to get myself some ammo when waiting for Echo 419, turns out I triggered the first bit we so cleverly avoided and died. Had to save & quit/reload.
Done in 40 minutes with zero deaths (just one restart because I was too close to a dead grunt and lost a good portion of my health 😅). That's my second SLASO mission over! 50 something to go. Thanks!
Also, I can confirm that all of the exploits featured in this video still work today (27th March 2022).

Dude honestly can say yur guide helps alot, if it wasnt for yur despawning glitch at the beginning with the grenade jump n your fancy rock cover spot i wouldn't have made it that far... i found a different way to do the ending which was a little nicer than killing marines myself, i went to the rock place first n when i got to the rock all but the sniper were killed i grabbed him left, went to the hill site next with a fully loaded hog, did a quick drive by n then sat at the hill till the marines killed em all. (Maybe 1 drop ship) got echo 419, then did the underground marines last and like yu did had myself in long range posistion for the sniper dude n jus eliminated all enemies, boom. done.

Did they patch the infinite ammo glitch? I can’t get it to work.
I knew about the backpack reload but had no idea about the "infinite ammo" glitch.
Also, in between marine groups there's a chance you get banshee bombed. Happened to me my first attempt but never after. Linger too long and it'll be more likely to happen.
Yeah this happened to me. After doing the first marine evac area, I went back to where the health and ammo was and the two banshees nearly ended my run. Luckily the next area was so easy, and the third area had another health pack. Banshees are annoying enough in normal, let along Laso.

My sniper proceeds to miss multiple mags on a standing still grunt.
This guide was awesome. I never knew out of all the years I played of halo ce that there was an infinite ammo glitch with juggling.
I will point out though I found if you can't grenade jump there is a large rock on the far right side when you go across the bridge in the beginning if you hide behind take out just one banshee the rest you can snipe out with the handgun.
I also found it worth noting if you find the marine with the sniper you can make things easy with the warthog. You can also let all the marines die purposely and then when cortana makes a comment you can leave and go to the other 2/3 but the last one you can't do this cheese on. But there is a cliff side where can drive the warthog straight up if you save the one with the sniper for this particular cliff it's an easy win.
I also found that if you, on foot, blow past the first forerunner structure when you are supposed to wait for foehammer and just run into the cave system, that eventually the enemies all despawn and you can just go back and grab the warthog unimpeded. Only downside is that grenade jump over the chasm and fall down the chasm in the caves on your way back take out a good section of your shields, so that strategy is probably only feasable in coop.
Anyone else frustrated when your pistol crosshair is over a grunts head, you’re ready to hear the sweet sound of a birthday party but then the the bullet goes straight over it’s head. This has happened to me too many times like wut :,(

The "save & quit" method doesn't work every time for me, am I the only one having this problem? :(
Sometimes, the game loads checkpoints (or restarts in this case) faster than others. The best solution is to simply 'save and quit' before you die or when your health and/or resources are in dire condition after an encounter so that you can retry for a better result AND avoid a potential restart from a death.
Unless you're saying that this is happening while you are doing that (save & quit before you die) then I don't know why that is happening, and I, personally, haven't encountered that problem.

Are you playing on the Steam version by chance? I can't, for the love of me, do the infinite ammo glitch and I don't know why. Was it patched on Steam? Help?
Figured it out. Because Action and Reload are different buttons on a keyboard (where they are the same button on a controller), you can do the glitch on KBM like this: Reload weapon, hit reload a SECOND time, then swap with weapon on the ground.
@@CavemanToaster megabump. This totally fixed it. You just have to hit reload manually.
You have to play it on 60fps apparently.

that spot at the beginning is a sore spot for me as every time I try doing that grenade jump, I end up missing the ledge by a tiny bit and I have to redo it probably 10-15 times before getting it. funnily, I've done this 3 different times and every time i failed about the same number of times before getting the one good attempt. Also the first defense area is so difficult. probably spent a good hour or so trying it out
I know I'm late, but, try to run to theleft side once you've thrown the grenade. The terrain is a little bit lower and you use your momentum to get there. I find it to be easier and more consistent that just jumping in the same spot

If you're not happy with the part of your HUD that's missing due to the Malfunction skull, you can save and quit, re-enter to your last checkpoint and it'll change.

In the first fire fight section where you’d wait for Foe Hammer one of the drop ships would spawn so many Jackals and Elites but like one grunt. Shit was WACK.
Can't seem to get the timing down for the infinite ammo glitch. Sniper always ends up with less rounds.
Are you on PC? PC you need to hit the reload button twice before switching. Didn't know that at the time.

@@kiryugaming7523 Not sure if you figured it out yet, but the timing is pretty strict. You have to double tap reload and swap BEFORE the magazine is physically loaded into the weapon model, the window is less lenient than you'd think

The sniper marine at the end makes it so easy!
In case you do not know! You can switch between old and remastered graphics midgame by hitting select. The grenade jump in beginning requires you to be in old graphics

Great video, I almost gave up at one point... had a bad spawn with no shields and one sliver of health and no good weapons. Pulled through in the end though.
the first jump is extremely easy if you jump off to the left to where the slope is lower from the same point
If the marines are hostile by the last zone and you left the assault rifle at the first zone, its entrance is pretty close, bring it and repeat the same strategy as the first zone. That's what worked for me
I didn't really watch this, we just kinda winged it. Only advice I have is for the bridge, make sure to lure out the elites if you can instead of sticking close. Worked well for us with the turret to take them down. If they stay up top that's even better, just stay back and shoot them. Not much cover there. Once they're all dead and you've moved on, make sure to get the sniper guy in your side seat and he'll annihilate enemies for you. He's not afflicted by the skull so he can fire four times in one clip. Pick up any snipers you find, they can two-shot elites if you hit their head. Though elites move a lot.

This is attributable to the 'Eye Patch' skull, whose description reads "Auto aim features disabled for all weapons. You'll miss it when it's gone."
You never really realise how much the game is actually aiming for you -- until it isn't...

Edit: Patience is key; attempt to capitalise headshots when enemies are immobile, like grunts, to maximise accuracy and value of your shots.

I'm new to LASO. I thought there was a skull that gave infinite ammo. How come we still lose ammo though in this gameplay?
Laso uses only scoring skulls, so that skull isn't included

9:15 if you switch to Anniversary graphics you can see the ledge geometry and it makes it a lot easier
Infinite ammo glitch, when you switch sniper to AR. You must wait for the whole sound of the sniper to reload before switching back to the sniper
If you toggle to the remasterd the jump is easier near the 10 min marker
I got to the part where you pick up the sniper marine, I messed up though and took the warthog off the cliff. No big deal, right? I can just revert to last checkpoint. I didn't even die. I cannot emphasize this enough, *I. Did. Not. Die.* Well, I hit save/quit, resumed my playlist... and the mission restarted itself. Screw 343, they've known about this bug since launch and have utterly failed the playerbase by not doing anything about it.

So I'm curious...at 22:42, you mention about hitting "start", "save and quit" and then "resume". How immediately do you have to do this for it to work?
You have a few seconds, but you might as well do it ASAP.

The hardest part of this is intentionally flipping the warthog. Like seriously it's so easy when you don't want it to happen but now it seems it's impossible.

The marines on the hill didn't take offense to you running over the marine because the 4 marines you got with the grenade were considered "accidental" kills, thus no marine aggro.
17:30 i think grenade doesn't count as team kill, same if no one notice you TK. Like you should be fine killing the last marine of the area. I remember hearing that but can't find the info anywhere...
I think there's possibly an attempt to kill your team component. Like if you kill 5 marines with one nade you're fine, but if you kill 5 marines individually with 5 different nades the game interprets you as being hostile rather than just one big accidental team nade. Not 100% on that, just a hypothesis.
I think they patched the infinite ammo glitch with the sniper
If anyone is really struggling with the nade jump, see if you have toggle croutch on, turn it to hold it always messes with trick jumps and duck jumps, also jump really late while moving toward the mountin.
i cant even do the grenade jump at the very start, this is so ffrustrating
capped my fps at 60 and it immediately worked. i was at 700 before.

Have they seriously changed the game in 1 year? The enemies will shoot at you if you stand on the rock.
Doing laso right now and only jackals shoot at me which isn't a big deal
do not retreat to much if you go all the way back to your life-boat you will spawn the enemies and the banchees so it will bring you nothing.
there's an easier way to do the grenade jump when you walk out of the ship go to the right and there will be a walkway right there and it leads straight to the same spot.

The skip for the 4th and 5th drop ship isn’t working for me. It’s been a while and no foehammer on my comms yet..
I actually did this mission first try (didnt die once) on laso which is quite shocking cuz i die a lot on legendary and legendary is easy thank you for the guide saved me a ton of time

in halo ce killing marines with a grande doesnt make them angry, the game thinks its the marines fualt so they dont try and kill you
It didn't fully work for me. At the last lifeboat, I cleared all of the enemies, and when the pelican came down it didn't pick me up. I had to kill every enemy from each lifeboat to finish the mission
I've finished all the halos on legendary, do you think it's better First finish halo ce in legendary in under 3 hours to learn all the speeds and then try the laso? Or dive directly in this playlist?!?
I personally did under 3 hours first some missions in laso make use of the speed running strats which are way easier to practice non laso

also cortana bugged me out for some reason, she did make me go back and kill all of those enemies even if the marines were already dead, but whatever i passed the mission in a nearly a hour
August 19, Infinite ammo sniper glitch does NOT work. instead just use the turret, I killed everyone on the tower with that turret from the ledge where the gunner marine died.
I haven't been able to get the garnade jump you said i had to crouch after i threw the grenade buta 2 second delay when you can crouch when you through a grenade so im very confused 😕
A crouch jump is when you jump and then crouch mid-air. You dont physically jump higher from doing that, but it pulls your legs up, allowing you to reach higher ledges.
Did they patch that first skip (with the first grenade jump) since this was uploaded? I just got the jump twice right away and both times the enemies still spawned
