Let me tell you a love story between "Romeo" (Arrowhead Plant) and "Juliet" (Golden Pothos). Once my mom placed "Juliet" hanging above "Romeo" in her garden, and believe it or not, both plants started to grow quickly until finally reached them, and after that the leaves started to cross between both of them, that by the time we wanted to separate them we had to cut all the leaves and plant stem crossed. After that happened, my mom started to call them "Romeo and Juliet" because no matter how much you want to separate them, they always find a way to reach again. If you want to do the experiment and see what happens, try placing both plants closer (but not too much) and see if you can make this love story come to live at your home. Sorry for the long comment, but I hope you find interesting.
Never need to apologise for a long comment unless it’s some silly spam stuff. This is a really cute story and I definitely want to try it out now! Thank you for sharing 💚
I never had the courage to buy house plants because my mom DOES NOT have a green thumb. So I assumed I would be the same way. But After watching about a hundred of your videos ❤️ I now own six plants and they are all thriving!
I have a huge philodendron, an aloe, the coolest looking aluminum plant, a baby peperomia and a huge dangling pothos marble Queen that is about 2 and a half weeks new to me. I realized the soil was still soaking wet from when I had gotten it at the store and a couple of the leaves started to yellow. And realized from one of your videos that the soil was too tight in the pot I had it in! Thank you for saving my plant! 🌱🙌
My dad kills everything he touches, while my mom can only Keep certain plants alive. I’m 17 have around 40 thrivig plants, the oldest is a 4 year old blue columnar cactus, he started my obsession. My sister (21) has started to Keep plants, even tho she lives in the Shadow of a mountain.
Could you do a video on suggested type of plants for types of pots...for example, a ceramic pot vs terracotta...if certain plants do with in one vs other.
That would be a good video. After decades of successfully growing and sadly killing many types of plants, I have come to appreciate plain terracotta pots with a hole for drainage. The type of plant determines the watering, soil, temperature and light needs. Happy growing.
OMG get out of my head! I’m literally on RUclips looking up my plants to see if I can find what pots work best! Was hoping I could find this type of video. Great suggestion
I also agree that arrowheads are super underrated. So thanks for this! I got my pink arrowhead when I first started collecting and it has been awesome watching her turn into a bush. 💛
I just got a pink one! I found it at this random discount store for $2.99 and it’s actually pretty big!! Not as big as your confetti but bigger than those others you showed. So far she is happy in our home! Thanks for the tips :)
Most seasoned RUclipsrs tell you to thumb's up or down (Petty Paige even says "I don't give a shit anyway!) because a thumb's down will help the creator with the algorithm which doesn't know the difference (or care) if viewers click up or down, either way it registers as "engagement" and the more engagement (positive or negative) a video gets, the more the algorithm promotes the video so it will be recommended to a new audience. I kid you not--every youtuber knows this.
I know this post is 2yrs late but I was researching on a better way to care for mine. My father gave me the arrowhead plant he and my mother received on the day I was born, almost 37 yrs ago! It's still growing but it's a lot of pressure to keep it alive and well! Lol
I’m so happy with your videos! Thanks for sharing. I’m a plant nerd and my young kids are getting into it too so thanks for not cursing and keeping it clean. I know that sounds prudish but it’s difficult finding quality content that’s good for everyone!!
just picked up a rescue clearance syngonium from my local walmart. i knew a tiny tiny bit about them, but was worried i wouldn’t be able to save her and this video totally gave me peace of mind. i’m excited to grow this new plant in my collection! Thank you for your extremely helpful videos!!! i have learned so much in my budding adventure in the plant world from your channel!! much love
All our plants are special, but I loved hearing about the one you got from your Grandma! My very first plant was a cactus my dad got me the day I moved away for college, I’ve had him for almost eight years! You should totally do a plant video with interesting stories on how you got them!
One of my first plants was also a cactus my dad bought for me, it was a red/orange grafted cactus 🙂 it sadly died but has been replaced since, and has some new friends to go along with him lol
I have a cutting of an arrowhead my mum gave me recently from a plant she’s had since I was a baby! It is a pretty special plant in my collection ❤️ thanks for your care tips! Absolutely love your content girl keep it coming! 🌱🌱🌱
Thank you for this video! I love the shape and texture of these plants so much, but no one really talks about them, they definitely deserve the love ❤️
My 8 year old was begging for her own plant she could keep in her room and I figured an arrowhead plant would be good. She picked the pink one of course. Showef her the basics and she actually hasn't killed it lol Thanks for the very helpful info!
Your lax take on propagating makes me feel soooo much better. I used to be a plant killer. I killed lucky bamboo (root rot I think). I became interested again in plants when I saw a pothos thriving in the dungeon I work in (cubicles, basement, no real light). I took a few cuttings from that (BEYOND LEGGY) pothos, my hairstylist gifted me a cactus which I am unable to identify (but he has lived over a year but not grown much if at all). On mother’s day, my green thumb mother gifted me what looks like an aloe with white lines on it, and also a jade plant (which while being a toddler itself has two babies). I have been watering using the blue powder miracle gro plant food WAYYYY diluted. All the plants seem happy. Again, we get no true sun just fluorescent bulbs but I leave them on all the time for my bbs. My friend has propagated a lot of plants for me. I want to take them to my office, but also my home porch (depending on where I place the plants, they would get late evening full or partial sun, or full shade). I’m interested in starting an herb garden but don’t know if I can with my situation. I have a housecat so no indoor plants. I am so enjoying growing and NOT KILLiNG the plants I have! It makes me so happy! Aside from my cat, they are my babies. I want to have a green thumb so badly!!!!!! Thank you for your videos! They are entertaining AND informative!!!!!! Love you!!!! Heidihudgins@gmail.com if you feel like offering any advice I’d appreciate it so much
LOVE Arrowheads!! I have a white butterfly as well as a Maria - my Maria seems to be growing pretty rapidly - don't cha just love those happy surprises? Love you and your channel! Thanks for being the amazing light you are!
I enjoy all of your videos,. What stands you out from everyone else its that your Beautiful let me 1st say!! And you always speak super clearly you actually make sense! You can give educational courses your videos are so comfortable & never boring. I've learned so much from you💪🏼🌿😉
I have the pink syngonium and when it gets low light ( because of a move) it started getting splotches of green on the pinker leaves it looked really neat!!
I also love Arrowhead plants, there are so many different varieties, I have the maria, the strawberry and there is another pink variety, the name escapes me. My best friend and I have girl weekends and the next weekend we are heading to Utah, we usually hit up Ikea, and now since I'm such a plant freak we are hitting every nursery that we possibly can, So excited for that, thanks to you and your Mom for your nursery plant tours. Great video, lots of tips and information, see you in your next one, bye for now.
saw this plant at safeway sunday night & was about to get it til i checked the soil: BUGS inside 😩😭 so came home & went on etsy. low & behold your store popped up & i snatched it 😂 now it's on my way to me (according to tracking) & i'm sooo excited, so now i'm studying this plant before its arrival! thanxxxx for this video, love your store! 🌿💚🍃
mommy marz , try finely crushed eggshells I n the soul. If they are flying bugs. Put a glass of water with a drop or two of dish soap in the water and the flying gnats will drown in it.
That is a great point!! I bought a baby toes succulent and brought home a mealybugs infestation by accident! 😳 It was awful to get rid of them on my other little plants. (Planted in same container.) 🌱🌱Always check for pests!🌱🌱
Hi, Harli G.!! I love your videos with your chickens (and eggs) your spaniel and your cute boys, not to mention your plants!!😂👍 I had an arrowhead plant for about 20 years. Don't know what variety. It was my husband's favorite plant. Since he passed away 12 years ago, I've taken extra good care of it. Before I moved back to Colorado last Dec. I gave a good friend a nice plant I propagated!! All my larger plants and some smaller ones froze on the moving truck. After a month or so I cut everything back. A couple months later, maybe March, I got two leaves growing from the cutoff stem of my old plant. It now has about 10 leaves and is 6-7 in. tall! But it looks totally different, more like your white butterfly!!?? I have also started collecting syngoniums and have 19. Most are different varieties, but my frustration is why one kind will have 3 or 4 different names and you think you have different varieties but as they mature you can tell they are the same variety!! So I may have 12 or 13 different ones,!!😂😂 Thanks for your informative and entertaining videos!!😊
I got mine from my grandma too! It's currently residing in my fish tank though until I feel like planting it because its sooo happy there! Thank you for the tips!
That's a great place for it! I'm working on getting a fish tank set up with live plants too & I plant to keep some of the fish safe varieties in there!
Ur my favorite go to plant girl lol. I love all ur tips and u get so excited for new plants. I’m a beginner plant mom lol I’ve already learned so much from ur channel. I also love how u go around ur house and if some plants need a lil watering or a yellow leave ur just like “ it’s fine” hahah. U make looking after plants seem so easy!!
Thank you so much! I love keeping plants so much. It's not fun if it becomes stressful & thirsty plants/dead leaves are a part of the cycle (: No need to stress over it!
my grandma has had her arrow head for over 30 years and is SOOO VINEY! now that i’m starting to get into plants she let me take some cuttings to propagate
I just bought my first arrowhead plant. You always have such wonderful, informative videos, so I’m happy to have found this! I know nothing about arrowheads, but I’ve always found them so stunning💖
This video was really helpful. I have an arrowhead plant and it’s struggling. I think I over watered it and the pot is too big for the clipping. Thank you for this great video.
Thanks for sharing, I have couple of varieties and they are doing good but still my eyes got caught on your lush green Syngoniums! Keep it up! You are doing a good job!
Carey Lowell, teaching on house plants. Cool. 👍 This is helpful. Someone just abandoned two of these downstairs in my apartment foyer. They have the yellowing you mentioned. Your tips will do them good. Thank you.
I agree, these are so underrated! I got mine as a two leaf cutting a couple of years ago, and now it’s almost as big as your confetti one. I love him 😍😅
Hi there. So I have the first one you showed I forget the name but mine was looking really sad so I repotted it with the moisture control miracle gro and some cow manure compost and it's looking great now. I live in Florida so I keep mine outside most of the year unless the temps really drop. He gets about three hours of direct morning sun and he seems to be loving it. Mine gets the east morning sun. Just something to consider. I've been getting a new leaf every two to three weeks and he's looking really full. Thanks for the video and I hope maybe what I did will help yours grow nice and big too. Happy growing...
Oh my gawddd. I'm so happy you did this video!! Arrowheads are probably one of my all time favorite plants too! I don't have any yet because I wanted to learn more about the care before I commit! I can't wait! Freaking love you girl ❤️💕😍
I really liked you presentation. I didn't realize there were so many varieties of Arrowhead plants. You gave me some excellent tips. Thank you so much. Jean Allen
My arrowhead was my first plant! I remember the shock, horror, then awe after I repotted it and accidentally ripped a leaf off years ago and I was so upset and my friend told me to just stick the leaf back in the soil and it propagated by itself. I legitimately had no idea about plant propagation until that happened and now I have 3 of them in my house haha. Great video!
You should add fresh water to your cuttings every day to put air in the water. It helps cuttings grow roots much faster. I've done this with the wondering jew plant I have and i had roots in about a week and a half. With the golden pothos plant, those cuttings will take longer to get roots than the wondering jew plant. But It helped both plants a lot!
My mom gave me a flower arrangement with arrowhead in it when my baby was born eight months ago. It was pretty seriously neglected for a bit there because I was a bit preoccupied with the human baby and I figured the plants in the arrangement would all die, but three of the four of them managed to pull through and now I'm researching so I can better take care of them.
I only have one syngonium but I LOVE it. It’s so easy to care for and it grows so fast. I constantly find myself splitting the roots and making more to go in different areas of my house. I have a few that I REALLY want but honestly houseplants are very limited in my area unfortunately and I hate ordering plants online because I have terrible luck 🙃 but I’m obsessed.
I take cuttings too...in fact I'm out of control! I take cuttings of literally anything I see that is pretty and/or worth saving and stuff it in a water jug like yours and see how it goes. I even take cuttings from shopping centre plantings! My colleague gave me a graptophyllum leaf cutting recently and it had just developed roots after 3 weeks from both stem AND leaves which saved when I nude the stem cuttting...ooh so proud! I'm glad I'm not then only nut out there... 🤗
Good timing I'm getting 2 arrowhead plants from Gabriella plants in the mail soon! One pixie arrowhead and a gold arrowhead! I was a little nervous about them since these are my first but knowing they are easy makes me feel a lot better!
These are obviously related to wild Arrowhead plants that we have growing profusely here in NJ. I wonder if I could grow one of those in water in my home?! Also have you done or could you do a video on pest control? All of your videos are extremely helpful! Especially for those without the time or inclination to dive into plant collecting head first!! ☺
You can find wild Arrowhead in the abandoned bogs and streams around them in Southern New Jersey in and around the Pine Barrens but don't get caught harvesting them by authorities.
This was very helpful! I’ve had an arrowhead for a couple of months now and it was thriving, then it started to droop and fall over. And this gave me some ideas about how to help it!
This was very helpful! I was given 2 arrowheads as a gift this week and had no idea on the humidity factor so I will move these guys closer to one of the humidifiers. These 2 guys are called Syngonium Plum Allusion and they are pretty funky! LOL Have a happy plant weekend!~
I got one as a gift back in 95 and still have it all these years later . I've moved several times since then and have lost a couple of the offspring but they are tough , that's for sure . I made a 55 gallon terrarium for my rough skinned newts which has these plants ,Ludwigia ,Rotala Indica to name a few and this plant took off and started to try to grow out of the tank . Anyway great info for those who don't know about this plant .👍✌😸
Thank you for this video! I just recently got into house plants and stumbled across a Maria Arrowhead last night at a big box stores; he was the only one there with no care tag but in a section with alot of arrowheads. Trying to learn about him so I don't kill him! So pretty!
I bought a confetti arrowhead on accident cause I thought it was just a berry allusion not why they looked different. But never really looked into it but I'm excited its growing new leaves!
Thx for your care video! I learned from you that I have a pink Singhsnia. I received a cutting off a dying plant and thankfully, after about 3 months, I have 6 very nice, strong, happy leaves. I wasn’t sure what soil to use so I used succulent soil and planted it in a recycled spaghetti sauce can that I nailed holes in the bottom of. Again, thx, I enjoy watching your helpful videos. God bless’ ✌🏽☀️😊🌱🌵
I have the pink illusion variety, a friend of mine gave the root bulb. At the time I didnot have a pot handy so I placed it in a plastic bucket with no drainage hole(I had no idea about plants then),kept it in a indirect bright light area. Since the container does not have drainage hole and my mom over waters plants in general, the soil has never been dry and it usually has 1 or 2 mm water stagnent above the soil most days. But it is the most Plushiest arrowhead plant I have than the other ones I have, and maintain properly. This plant even has large leaves, larger than my whole face . I really dont know how the plant thrives for more than 3 years in the same container, not been fertilised even once in that 3 year period.
thank u for this!! ive got a gigantic syngodium named cordelia that ive had for years n years, and i love to have a guide full of tips and tricks i can spoil her with. 💖 awesome video!
Man this couldn’t have come any sooner! Just found out yesterday a plant I’ve had for over the year is some sort of arrowhead! Goosefoot is what came up when I used picture this! THANK YOU HARLI! Now I’ll know how correctly care for it😅 💕
ahhh i know this is a 4 year old comment but i have had the same situation!! except my grandma has had her plant for almost 17 years the bottom half on some vines slightly died off and got crusty but the leaves and quite alot of the vines are thriving very well
Hello young lady, I absolutely love your videos, I believe I posted in a couple of them previously. You have so much information and you have fun with it. I just love your attitude! I have had quite a few syngonians and I adore them, but I find that they thrive for a decent amount of time then die. My confetti is still holding on quite well although I need to make it bushier, and I have a I think you call it a white vein, it's green with white veins that I bought not too long ago. I have the green one with white veins in a medium light I turn it every day so it gets a share of brighter light, but my confetti doesn't seem to like it anywhere. And that's one of my favorite plants. I have about 20 to 30 plants and quite a few propagations. Because the confetti's syngonium is in a medium light now I think I should move it to a brighter area? I live in an apartment I only have North facing windows. It is now the end of November and it's getting quite cold so none of my plans are near the window. And I don't want to move them around a lot, I really love my confetti I can't say that enough, please help! Of course you could always send me a nice size one too for Christmas! LOL LOL! See I do that stuff because I'm disabled and I can't afford a lot, but it's also my six sense of humor so please don't take that seriously. I started doing plants again after I couldn't work anymore, I think I got my green thumb for my grandma even though I'm adopted. Then again she was Irish I think I got her temper too, which keeps me going. Anyway I seem to be writing you an autobiography of my life and I'm sorry for that. You are fantastic I absolutely adore you thank you thank you thank you for helping me and so many others give our plant babies the best homes we can. I adore you you are definitely one of the best and I always come to you first when thinking of buying a plant. Awaiting your ideas, and please have a safe and blessed holiday. Tracy
I got an arrowhead plant from my mom and have kept it outside, since that's where she had it... But I just took a cutting and am water propagating it to have more! I hope it does well for me!
I grow arrowhead plant a lot! Note I am located in south east Texas where temps get to 110* in summer time and freeze in winter! I have had some growing in a flowerbed outside for years. It freezes back in winter and returns from roots in summer!! I also have some in a vase inside that has lived in water for years! I give water as it evaporates and once a month I give 2 drops of Miracle Grow House plant food and it is gone Crazy! I have to cut back and propagate a lot because it grows so fast! I am good at sharing though!!

Keep that chop stick handy and in the soil. When you want to water check the bottom of the chop stick, if it is dry the soil at the bottom is dry 👍👍👍
Good idea I'll try

I always wanted one but never drawn to one since my plant journey from 2020.

So I may have 12 or 13 different ones,!!😂😂
Thanks for your informative and entertaining videos!!😊
I got mine from my grandma too! It's currently residing in my fish tank though until I feel like planting it because its sooo happy there! Thank you for the tips!
That's a great place for it! I'm working on getting a fish tank set up with live plants too & I plant to keep some of the fish safe varieties in there!
@@HarliG that will be great! I find it so helpful for propagation! Plus it helps keep the fish happy and the little babies can hide in the roots.
Really beautiful plants. Many varieties. All plants are looking very healthy.
Honestly you being so nonchalant about it makes me feel at ease about my plants lol. Thanks for the great videos!!
PERFECT timing!! I just got a cutting from a dying plant!
I really enjoy your plant videos. You get to the point and with cute humor. Ive learned aloe from you. Thank you.. keep doing it!!
my grandma has had her arrow head for over 30 years and is SOOO VINEY! now that i’m starting to get into plants she let me take some cuttings to propagate
Thank you for this video! 🥰 A couple of questions: Do syngoniums prefer to be more root bound? And where do you clip for cuttings?
Love my arrowheads I have a huge pink one and a green one. It appears a mixed of 2 love them. Thank you for the video.
I just bought my first arrowhead plant. You always have such wonderful, informative videos, so I’m happy to have found this! I know nothing about arrowheads, but I’ve always found them so stunning💖
Started watching a video by someone I didn't know about arrowheads and then saw yours. Gotta go! I clicked on yours real quick! LOL
Another great video. SO much information in 10 minutes. We Love you Harli.
Cool. 👍
This is helpful.
I have a very white one with bits of green. Rescued it from home depot. I needed this video. THANKS!!!!
Oh my gawddd. I'm so happy you did this video!! Arrowheads are probably one of my all time favorite plants too! I don't have any yet because I wanted to learn more about the care before I commit! I can't wait! Freaking love you girl ❤️💕😍
Thank you I was introduced to arrowhead Syngonium they are hard find them keep the good work
Very helpful; I just bought a "Cream Allusion" Arrowhead today... it's my first Arrowhead.
I really liked you presentation. I didn't realize there were so many varieties of Arrowhead plants. You gave me some excellent tips. Thank you so much. Jean Allen
bless you for uploading this, I just got a cream allusion arrowhead this morning
Yay! I am happy the timing worked out that way (: I really appreciate that. Thank you!
Yesss I completely agree, they're so underrated!!! I love them😍
They totally are! I just don't understand :P
The varigated is awesome looking!! The confetti is really pretty as well.
There are just so many cool varieties out there!
@@HarliG I really had know idea how many there were.
I'm leaning so from you. I could go on & on but I won't now. You helped me with the soil mistake and now they are doing so much better, thank you ♥️
I spray my Syngonium every other day with an orchid mister. I live in a non-humid environment, so this helps a lot to keep the plant happy :)
I just bought a pink one which I’ve never had , it’s beautiful and planted inside a frame for V Day 💗 love it 🌱🍀
My mom gave me a flower arrangement with arrowhead in it when my baby was born eight months ago. It was pretty seriously neglected for a bit there because I was a bit preoccupied with the human baby and I figured the plants in the arrangement would all die, but three of the four of them managed to pull through and now I'm researching so I can better take care of them.
Give you free tip,try to water when soil almost dry out.Syngonium will grow so much better.
An arrowhead plant was also one of my first plants that i got from cutting off of my grandmothers plant!! ❤️🌱
Just got an arrowhead as a present. So needed this video!
Yay! Which variety did you get? They are great plants to keep indoors (:
I believe I have a white butterfly.
I just picked up one of these today. Had no idea what it was but liked it. Thanks for the tips!
This video is so helpful! I just got myself a Syngonium and am so excited to see it grow😂
Love love love your confetti !! You should totally do a top 10 absolute favorite plants in your collection video :)
Oh I have thought about doing it, I know for sure what a few of them are... but when I get down to the last few I panic & can't decided haha
Harli G hahaha I think we can all relate to that one!
Good timing I'm getting 2 arrowhead plants from Gabriella plants in the mail soon! One pixie arrowhead and a gold arrowhead! I was a little nervous about them since these are my first but knowing they are easy makes me feel a lot better!
I Absolutely Love the Arrowhead plants!
I’m a plant newbie and you helped me a lot! Thank you!
I'm so glad! Thanks for watching
Yes definitely! Oh! Give it a try, that would be really cool!
Where are they located in NJ? I would love to have some wild Arrowhead!
Thats something to do over watering it droops
I like the bleaching. It's a white butterfly after all! 😄
Just picked up a Berry Allusion Arrowhead at Walmart. Very pretty!
I’m so glad I am not the only one who “chopsticks” my plants soil 😂
I literally just got an arrowhead cutting, this is perfect timing!
I love arrowhead plants💕 And yeah I do kinda feel like they’re pretty under-rated. I really enjoyed your care tips. Loooooved it!
I’m in love with the different varieties and variegation on some💕 So prettyyyy
Thanks Deya!
yay! Just bought two albo variegata cuttings! Glad to know they are easy to propagate in water! :D
I potted the arrow plant with a pothos. . So cute!! Low maintenance..and affordable. 🤩🤩🤩
I need a confetti arrowhead in my life! I was never really a fan of them until I decided to try my hand at them and now I love them.
They are such cool plants! They do have some available on Glasshouseworks.com! I've never ordered from there, but they have pretty good reviews.
thank u for this!! ive got a gigantic syngodium named cordelia that ive had for years n years, and i love to have a guide full of tips and tricks i can spoil her with. 💖 awesome video!
I just got an albo, I’m in love. I wanna keep it alive.
Me too!!!!!
Thank you for all the information you shared. ❤❤❤
I have a Confetti Arrowhead..it's growing but the tip of a few leaves are browning. I can't wait to see it bloom like yours. Thx for the video!
Just bought a white butterfly syngonium! Great video!
Omg your confetti is huge! Cannot wait for mine to grow
I love syngonium!!! i have the pink one, confetty one, milky ona dn a green velvet that i think you would love!
Man this couldn’t have come any sooner! Just found out yesterday a plant I’ve had for over the year is some sort of arrowhead! Goosefoot is what came up when I used picture this! THANK YOU HARLI! Now I’ll know how correctly care for it😅 💕
ahhh i know this is a 4 year old comment but i have had the same situation!! except my grandma has had her plant for almost 17 years the bottom half on some vines slightly died off and got crusty but the leaves and quite alot of the vines are thriving very well
Yes! My arrowhead plant is one of the easiest that I have. And they are so beautiful too
I second you
Hello young lady, I absolutely love your videos, I believe I posted in a couple of them previously.
Tracy
Please do a video on propagating, how to properly cut steems!
