The fact that you felt the need to apologize for wearing makeup is heartbreaking. I can't believe people actually think it's their place to tell you that they prefer you without make up
Relax. Don't take things personally. That is what she does. Also, to look great without makeup is wuite a compliment.
Seriously. Why do people care what anyone does with their own face?
I love that you don’t feel the need to wear makeup whenever you film a video, but I also think this makeup look is SO flattering on you! I just lost one of my peperomia about a week ago. Pretty sure it was stem rot, so I’ll try watering my other one from the bottom from now on. Great care tips, thank you!
Thank you! I typically don't like the way it feels on my face. It makes me feel constricted in a way? IDK how to explain it haha but sometimes it is fun! I'm sorry you lost your peperomia baby :( The winter time watering can be rough on them for sure! I hope the others do well for you!
@@HarliG You look fab!!!! I would just adjust the tone of the lipstick to a warmer shade, so it compliments both your shirt and your eyeshadow. But you're beautiful with or without makeup!
I’m sorry for your plant loss.
Harli you look beautiful with or without makeup. I love your videos. Keep them comming.
Thanks, friend! You are such a kind person. I really appreciate you taking the time to watch!
One thing about harli is I know I can find literally anything on her page, no matter how far back. Thanks for your insanely impressive dedication to teaching us about plans, Harli!
Peperomia tip I have an obtusifolia and someone told me that spraying it with orchid spray fertilizer would make it grow. So I picked one to sacrifice just in case it was an epic failed. Omg it is now taller than the other three I have and the leaves are huge!!! I haven’t tried it on all the types but if you have the obtusifolias you need to try this!!! 🙌🏻
Haha sacrificing 😂 glad to know it grew better!
I tried this, but instead of spraying it with orchid fertilizer, I used the fertilizer to water my two peperomias. And it worked!! Both times after I used the fertilizer, a bunch of flower spikes grow 😁
You look so pretty all dolled up. Love your videos! ❤️
Beverly June Villanueva thank you so much, Beverly! You are so nice. I appreciate you taking the time to watch them!
"liking" and especially with humans is about personality not if they wear makeup or not. people who judge someone else often aren't comfortable with themselves.
Confused why having plants set in water with roots(propagating) doesnt cause root rot...but sitting in wet soil does?
I just heard somewhere the answer to your question about why you could propagate peperomia plants in water, yet they don't rot.
It's because it's not the water that harms the plants. It's the bacteria and fungus that could breed in the water (and wet soil) that can get into the plant, that rots the plant.
Pure Water itself is harmless.
I love the fact that you have a video for everything. I just bought one but I was told it's low light 😒.
You look beautiful with or without makeup. My mom used to say that makeup should only enhance what you already have which means your natural beauty. It shouldn’t be a camouflage but just to bring out your natural beauty. It became my philosophy too because I don’t like wearing heavy makeup. Lit from within.
We started with a watermelon peperomia and it's the love of my life! Thanks for helping me help them thrive xx
Yes you must get a watermelon peperomia! They are fabulous 🌱💚
I really want a watermelon peperomia, And you look great who cares what other people say. Love your videos!!! 💙🌱
Me too! I'll let you know if I ever see a decently priced one (: They are not available like ANYWHERE it seems. :(
@@HarliG I know I'm also looking for a Calthea Orbifolia, I can't find them anywhere. I did find this beautiful Nursery like an hour away from me that I want to check out. Might see what they have one of these weekends.
I totally recommend getting a watermelon peperomia! I just got one that I showed in my most recent video on my channel and its very easy to take care of! It has even been sprouting out new leaves and everything! 🍉
@@JescaHer mine is looking so dull, I don't want to loose her.....do you have any suggestions?
👌 for the makeup😍 Could you please do a video on syngonium care? i would love to see how you keep that pink syngonium in the background looking so pretty!
Yes! I have all day today to film so I will film one real quick (:
Yes, please do! I received one earlier this month.
I desperately needed to find this video!! I already managed to fatally overwater my first peperomia. (An absolutely beautiful variegated baby rubber plant! R.I.P Philbert 😭) Hopefully now I can avoid the same mistakes with my other 2. I've been so scared of losing my other two, that I was convinced my droopy peperomia was also subject to stem or root rot. No the poor thing was thirsty. 🤦♀️ So now I'm bottom watering that one and praying to the peperomia gods for forgiveness and mercy.
I recently gave my very first peperomia frost a new home. Within a couple of weeks, she started wilting a lot. Thank you so much for the advice on bottom water feeding! She's perking right back up. :)
I have had a peperomia optusifolia for 6+ months and only God knows how I managed to keep it alive. It even "flowered". 😱 I have been the biggest and only plantkiller I know and would just throw it out and by new ones 😅 but now I actually care about them and try to learn and your videos are VERY helpful! So thank you so much ☺️🤗
"If you don't like it, I'm sorry. If you do, I'm sorry." lol why do I relate to that so much? Do you Harli. You are beautiful both with and without makeup and you are my favorite plant-tuber regardless js. Totally agree about not keeping them super moist, mine appreciate that too.
Hi Harli! I think I've seen most of your videos, and your Mom's, and I really enjoy them, just haven't commented before. I bought a very small plant in a 2" pot, but it wasn't labeled. I thought it was a peperomia and, thanks to your video, I believe it is a Peperomia obtusifolia 'Variegata' like the first one you showed with the light green variegation. I wasn't sure how to pot and water it, so thank you! Also, I prefer seeing you when you are talking to us in your videos and not just showing plants. Keep up the good work!As far as makeup, I think you look great both with and without. Just do what makes YOU feel good. I'm like you though and don't like the feel of liquid foundation, so I use a powder and can't even feel it.
Makeup or no makeup still the same great Harli 👍 Wear what you want girl ! I loved your face when you said "are easy plants". Truth 100%! 😂 I also find that knowing which Peps like a bit of humidity/more water and which prefer more true succulent conditions is key to Pep success.
Peter Cardona I love that you’re awesome in the comments to everyone, Peter! Keep doing that, RUclips needs it.
I have struggled with them FOREVER. I was so jealous of everyone with beautiful peperomias! That's very true. I have a Peperomia Percilliata (which I'm just now realizing I forgot to show) that loves high humidity and he is a lot more difficult for me! You're the best, Peter!
@@PamsPrettyPlants He is so awesome! I've been trying to get him to start his own youtube channel. His comments are always so funny, but also very informational. He would make an excellent PlantTuber! Don't ya think?
@@PamsPrettyPlants thanks for the kind words. There's enough people who give us crap and think we're weird. The plant community has to stick together and help one another as best we can.
Peperomias are definitely not easy for me! I have three, a Peperomia caperata rosso, a clusiifolia and the watermelon one (Peperomia argyreia). The caperata is only now coming back from the brink of death, I had to put it to a terracotta pot and under a grow light by the window (yes, you read that right, Finland is really dark in the winter) to save it. Half of my jelly plant just basically rotted because it was in really really wet, compacted soil when I got it. I changed the soil immediately but it was kind of too late. I just hope the rest of it starts to really get better. The argyreia is doing the best, although that too lost some leaves. It seems to be pretty happy in a more shaded location for me weirdly enough. I tried to water propagate one of the leaves that fell off, but the stem just kinda exploded and split in a day. I have no idea what happened there 😅
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I insanely appreciate the fact that even a knowledgeable goddess such as yourself has killed a happy bean or two! There is so much conflicting information out there, especially when it comes to moisture in the soil. Thank you again for sharing your talents with the RUclips world!
You are so stunning! I love watching someone talk so passionately about plants. None of my friends are into plants so it sucks not having someone share my excitement when I have new growth or get a hard to find plant. I just think you’re so great!
Love your make up look!!
Thank you!
girl you look amazing! wear whatever you want to and don't listen to other people- you're killing it!
I killed my first peperomia . I payed $20 online and it ended up dying. Might have been fungus gnats as well. I moved it to more light and the leaves curled moved it away and the soil didn’t dry fast enough. I gave up. I found one at Trader Joe’s about 2 months ago and it’s still alive and it has pups. I’ve also noticed they don’t like hard water.
Just got a baby peperomia, perfect timing! I put mine right next to a southwest-facing window, water it once a week because it's on a pot without drainage, and it seems happy. It just put out a flower spike!
Thank you for the great video! I just discovered you and subscribed. I'm a little obsessed with peperomias in all their varieties so I thoroughly enjoyed hearing you talk about them.
Yesss you look amazing I love makeup yessss . You SLAYYYYYYYYYY! i just checked ur page earlier and was like dang she didn’t upload yet 😢!!!! Xoxooox you rock !!!! I don’t have one yet but I want one so bad !!!! Thanks for the video !
Aw! Thank you so much. You are always so nice to me in the comments you leave. You seriously make my day so often!
I've been wanting to add a few peperomia plants to my little indoor jungle! Really appreciate this video 🌱💕
Do it! They are so unique from other plants!
You look FABULOUS with or without make up! As far as the Peperomias, I agree with everything you say. They are tempermental and will die to mock me every time!
The makeup is GORGEOUS on you. You’re a baddie babyyy.
Girl you look beautiful with and without makeup. Youre one of my favorite youtubers 💖
I'm finally getting it through my thick scull that MY peperomia don't like a lot of water. Less is more. AND I was gifted a solid green peperomia for my birthday. It measures18 inches from the pot to the top and is 24 inches wide. The gifted says its ready to report but I'm waiting for confidence.
Thank you for your videos. I've learned sooooo much.
Do people really feel the need to say that?? You look good either way girlie, and it’s totally no business of anyone to say anything about it. You do you!
Recently acquired a couple peperomia, so this was a good one for me!
What? Ppl are bold slash ignorant. Makeup or no make-up-ur choice, ur face. Your channel is about indoor growing, not whether ppl give your face a thumbs up or not. I admire ppl willing to put themselves in front of the public to share something positive and neat. In front of the public is a hard place to be! Keep bringing the fun plant chat! Enjoy.
when I first got my Obtusifolia, I over-watered it (yellowed bottom leaf) and subjected it to harsh sunrays (one top leaf got a burn). Now I've gotten to know him well and he likes his medium to dry 100% and then a deep watering is given. It's also happy getting diffused direct sun from an East-facing balcony slider :)
Hi Harli, you are a natural beauty and also you look pretty with makeup. So have fun expressing yourself. I offen watch your videos and brought plants that you had introduced. I now have a peperomia acuminata variegated. It is finally getting new leaves. The shades of green are similar to pothos marble queen. Thank you your amazing videos.
You are so pretty with or without makeup! I love your videos. Thank you for such great info. Of all the thousands of sites for plant info you are the BEST.
Hi Harli,
Your make up is beautiful! It's not over stated. It just enhances the natural beauty that you have. 😊
I also want to tell you that I am really loving how you explain every detail in a practical way. I'm learning so much from you.🤩 Please dont change a thing. Thank you so much.
PS I'm from Melbourne Australia. So we are Commonwealth sisters.🥳
I have turned into a total Peperomia NUT since I started gathering plants (and watching your videos lol). I actually water mine with the same bottle I use to water my succulents- it has a little spout that lets me get between the leaves and avoid getting the stems wet. I just got two new ones this week (I'm addicted)- a Rosso and a Parallel (I think that's what it's called). I adore these little guys- my first one is putting out three new leaves and has grown so much! Happy to hear they are easy to prop... Now I can turn one plant into ten plants.
I love watching your videos.. so relaxing. You and Planterina are my favourite plant ladys!
Yes with or without but you are gorgeous! It is very subtle and pretty. Some people might be jealous you look so good with sooo little. 😊
Girl, you look great with or without makeup! I love wearing makeup and never leave the house without it on, lol. *shrugs* I only have one peperomia and it's the obtusifolia. I have mine in a west facing window and it loves it.
Hi, Harli ! Great tips. Thanks for posting. The section on light needs and particularly the" going back to green" comment was interesting.
I thought I accidentally tapped the Supermodel channel, wow, thank you for the great plant tips :)
Wow, so I will be bringing mine inside and repotting it. Had it on the patio in just regular potting soil.
They do very well under fluorescents also. Mine are doing great under a spot light lamp.
I think you look gorgeous with your makeup. It's natural. Very flattering. Screw others. You can't win either way. I just wanted to say I think your makeup is beautiful
Hi Harli! How are you?
I bought a Pepperomia Raindrop. It was very moist when I bought it. I took it ouf of it's nursery pot and put it on a paper towel. I kept changing the towel everytime I thought of it. A week later, the plant was laying on the side of the pot. I noticed the base was black. ROOT ROT!
I think I am done with Pepperomias.
Gerry
😎
Peperomia Birgade! Love this species and this video! I just got a Polybotrya from Steve's leaves yesterday!
Oh heck yes! I have been eyeing that Polybotrya from there for SO LONG. IDK why I haven't pulled the trigger?
That's another one that I've "almost" ordered 5 or 6 times! WHY do we do that? 🌾💜
I use Bake and Bond to hold pieces together. So fun making pots for my plants. ❤😊
I recently found one variegated version at lowes and I couldn't leave it behind so now it's in my bathroom lol. I had no idea how to care for them at first, but when I googled them and read that most of them are epiphytes (like most orchids and Hoya, they grow above the ground) and peperomia like rotting wood. I can see why there is a misconception as to how wet they like to stay. Of course rotting wood is going to be more absorbent and stay wet longer than a live tree. This doesn't mean that they don't experience drought spells and they likely need them to prevent rotting and suffocation. I've basically been caring for mine just as I do my hoyas. I haven't repotted yet but when I do I'll likely use fine grade bark and let it go for a couple years before repotting to give it more of that natural habitat feel lol
Your makeup is beautiful today, you look pretty with or without it. I just haven’t had much luck with peperomias, I only have the raindrop one the one you want and since winter mine has been struggling a little. I tend to shy away from those and definitely no more clatheas for me!
Don’t be sorry for wanting to wear makeup. It’s your face. You look gorgeous either way. Thanks for making this video! Getting my plants in 3 days.
First time listening to Harli. LOVE your tip on watering from the bottom!
I have just bought my first Peperomia Moonlight and I love it. I enjoyed your video, it was very informative.
Hey harli! Thanks for sharing your videos! Every time I get a new plant, I type it in to RUclips and always search for your videos:) thanks for the advice!
Omg you look GORGEOUS with makeup!!! 💗 I’ve never seen you with a full face of it so wow! ☺️💕
Thanks for the info and who cares what other people think. Just be yourself and make no apologies. Your wonderful 👍😊
Love your glow up! Yes your tips are super accurate to the care I've found my pepperomias like as well! ☺
Hey you look good either way. Love your videos. Beginner with house plants and I have learned alot from your videos. Thank you 🙏
peperomia is on my wish list!
I just got a Peperomia Russo and I think I’ll try bottom watering. Hope mine will be as happy as all of yours are! Thanks for the helpful information
Hi!Harli I brought my first variegated peperomia today I'm so excited. I hope it won't get root I was a little bit to wet. I repotted it fingers crossed it ok.Thank for a the information.
I really needed this video. I have killed a few peperomia along the way. They are more fragile than easy. I keep coming back though. Also, love the makeup. 🤗
You look great all the time! I love this video 💖💖 I’ve been dying to get a Peperomia I didn’t know how sensitive there roots are. This was super informative. Thank you Harli 🙂👍🏽
Low humidity is the tidbit I need. Thank you so much!!
This makeup look really brings out your eyes ❤️
Thank you 🙏🏽
I really need to get a peperomia! I'd definitely need a variety that needs more light as I live in Australia and they'll get sun no matter what and also really high humidity 😂. Love your videos 😍😍
You should look into a Peperomia Percilliata! It is one I forgot to show in the video, but it likes a lot of humidity & it is really cute!
I have heaps of peperomias. They are fine in my Sydney weather. Everytime I go to bunnings they have a new variety.
Harli G Thank You! Next time I go plant shopping I'll get one 😍
Also sorry for making literally no sense 😂
You always look good with or without make-up. You are a beautiful person, in and outside!
Thanks for the great video's.
everything i wanted to know! thank you for the video! also it is great to hear that even you have killed many plants too in the beginning, because i was getting really discouraged :(
You look lovely with makeup and without makeup. Makeup is about what makes you happy not what makes other people happy. A very interesting video. Lots of great information. Thank you.
Good, informative video! Thank you. While I am not new to houseplants, I have never had a Peperomia before. I bit the bullet and ordered a Watermelon Peperomia yesterday. I want to know how to take care of him before he gets here. Thank you, again.
Soooo Prettyyy! Yas! Gurrrll my plant Godddeeessss Harli 🥰🥰
Pepperomias are not my friends. I killed my raindrop and variegated ones. Great video! You make me want to give them a try again
i like it when you do whatever makes you happy !! you look beautiful either way !
Thank you. Just bought one and your tips are helpful!
Your makeup is amazing! Makeup is going to be a new sponsor soon!
This video was perfect timing for me. I am going to my local nursery this weekend as I’m also looking for watermelon peperomia. I got my first peperomia in 2018 and have fallen in love. I only have a few, and need more. Thanks for the helpful tips!! Love your videos!
Yay! I love when everything times out so well like that! I am sure your peperomia will be great for you!
Your Pep. Frost is beautiful. Do you remember where you got it?
I have a Marmorata from Steve’s Leaves and a segment came out after I opened it (my fault, not theirs) so I plopped it in my prop. station and 6 days later: the tiniest, wispiest roots appeared. It’s just like magic. 👍🏻🌱
Thx for the video.
You always look pretty! Life is too short to waste our precious time trying to suit everyone else's likes! Great peperomia tips, Harli! I LOVE that you now LOVE peperomias! 🤸♀️✔🤹♀️ I'm having a love-hate (mostly love) relationship with them right now. I'm very sick (flu...yuck) so my attitude probably sucks pretty bad, too. Anyway, in the background (over your left shoulder) what IS that pink looking plant? I NEED IT! Oh! I just read that it's an arrowhead plant! Will you PLEASE tell us the variety of it? Thanks for sharing that AND the care tips! 🌾💜
Don't apologize for doing you.. No matter what you do some Will like it some won't..if you like it that's all that matters..just keep the plant info coming..
Amazing Cindy thank you very much for sharing have a wonderful day
I've rotted every peperomia I've had because of the "keep them moist" advice. I just bought a fee new ones, and I'm going to try more bark and perlite and less water this time around 😊
Oooh perfect timing, I just bought two mini pepperomias this morning from Lidl supermarket of all places. They were listed as mini succulents and there wasn't a single succulent among them, lol. Not sure what varieties they are though, gonna post on IG and see if anyone can id them.
I bought a peperomia watermelon recently (mostly because they are not toxic to cats and also because so pretty!) but when I bought it, it had holes in the leaves so i'm trying to ''fix'' that but mostly trying to not kill it! Also heard they prefer ceramic pots and of course I bought a plastic one! It's only been a week tho so i'll see how it goes! Other than that you look extra gorgeous just saying!
Just bought a Pepperomia Piccolo Banda, and I’m in Utah too so we’ll ser how it goes! I love the shape of the leaves so much. I’ve been wanting a Watermelon Pepperomia too
i have a banda i got in FULL riotous bloom last summer, almost done blooming now. they get so leggy...i did some research and am going to try cutting back severely and propagating leaves from the carnage..hope to encourage a thicker rosette and then repeat the riot!
Hi! I have a Peperomia hope whose leaves are curling :( Do you know what I can do?
I have it on a south-facing window that’s about 4 feet back from the edge of the roof (so no direct sun); I have checked for pests, have it in a well-draining potting mix (lots of perlite), and bottom-water whenever the top inch or so of the soil feels dry.
i am about to have two kinds of peperomia: watermelon and ripple, that is to be picked up this coming Sunday from my fave local plant store (just ordered yesterday). I know it's just monday, but i can't help but get exciteddd~! 😆😆😆 the very reason too why i am watching this vid hahaha 😂😂😂💕
YOu are amazing, with or without make up, I watch the videos for you , not for what you wear or how you look. you are a real person, just as your followers are! I have 3 other sorts of peperomia that i didnt spot in the video !
😍Your looking really beautiful like always, love it.
🌿love your pink arrowhead
Very helpful video thankyou. I have obviously been overwatering mine during lockdown and worrying about it! Never seen them before but found a tiny one in my local supermarket here in the UK. It is so pretty looking with dark purple under the leaves. I want more!
I’m relatively new to plants, and I have really enjoyed your videos. Your very approachable. And congrats on your pregnancy! I really appreciate you discussing your location a lot. I live in the Pacific Northwest and feel I struggle with light. Keep them coming! Oh and I have recently started bottom watering thanks for the tips!
Harli - can you help? I have a Peperomia Dragonskin, Leaves are curling…too much water? Too little?…? Help Please.
Harli first i want to say i love your videos your energy has motivated me and your videos are helpful And Giiiirrrl you do not need to apologize to nobody its your channel and you look beautiful with or without make up do what makes you happy thank you so much for sharing your houseplants and the information you are giving❤
Wow! You are incredible! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me such an uplifting comment. You are the best & I really appreciate you.
Love these guys. The only 2 I have are raindrop and watermelon
You look beautiful either way! Love the makeup - you did a wonderful job and it looks so natural and polished!
When do you need to repot your Peperomia? I've just got one silver ripple Peperomia...
everything i’ve read and seen says less is more. they have small root systems and delicate roots and generally don’t mind being a bit crowded. i’ll be dividing a couple of caperata (one dark and one frost) next spring but right now they’re very happy in pots from last july...enjoy!
I just killed my very first peperomia ! A ruby cascade 😕 I rotted the stems by top watering 😭 I will be bottom watering my peps from now on ! I may have possibly rotted the roots as well, I’m not so sure lol but the leaves and stems turned to mush basically
