I have to do this repair this week, and I'm not very confident soldering yet. I appreciate this alot, thank you!
Your repair videos are always great. I watch pretty much all of them!
I am very glad to hear that! This definitely makes my day! I'll continue to make videos and try to improve along the way. Thank you so much! 😍
@@totalfix877 No problem! :) Do you ever plan on selling any of the consoles you repair? I’d like to get a console you repaired in one of your videos sometime when I have the money.
I do as a matter of fact. However, most of the time I sell locally due to the high fees from eBay. If you are interested in any of them, I can go ahead and give you a low price. 😃
@@totalfix877 Maybe sometime but not right now because im broke lol. Thanks for the offer though :)
Woah! My GameCube is doing the same thing! Now that I saw this video, I'm gonna ask my Best Friend who does the same thing you do in fixing stuff, to fix it for me! Maybe he can learn a thing or two! Awesome vid!
I really appreciate the video man! I have a disk drive that i kinda messed up with adjusting the lazer one too many times and the screw was eaten up. you think you could take a look at it ? Im new to modding so ive got some experience with handhelds but the GC is a different beast lol
Thanks for dropping by! Yeah, I can take a look at it and see if there is anything that can be done to fix it. Please reach out to me at my email located on the channels page. 😀
Do you sell any game cubes that you have repaired?

Sure thing!

Please let me know if you have additional issues/questions. Thanks for stopping by!
What is the tool your using to heat the solder and pull them off? The heat gun? Also do you need to plug in the controller ribbon cable to test or can you leave it off?
I use a Quick Rework station. Here is a link to it:

My honest opinion on this rework station is that is simply amazing...I've had 2 other budget rework stations and the heating elements would blow out, or just not work very well. Thanks for watching!
Where did you buy your capacitors from?
I got the capacitors from Console5, here is the direct link to the capacitor kit: console5.com/store/gamecube-optical-drive-pcb-cap-kit-revs-1-4-bulk-packaged.html
Is this a japanese gamecube (DOL-001) (JPN)?
I have a American Gamecube (DOL-001) (USA) with xeno modchip and fan mod.
It was in fact a Japanese model.
I've got a GameCube that reads disks and plays games but shuts off after about an hour saying an error occurred. I've replaced all the caps and cleaned the fan. Any tips?
What error message do you get?
@@totalfix877 It says an error occurred turn the system off and read the instruction manual
@@dannyjackson4294 This sounds like an overheating issue, I would inspect the paste of the heat sink. Make sure it’s not too dried out or cracked. If so, you might just have to replace it. Let me know how it turns out I’m curious 🧐
@@totalfix877 You are most likely onto something. I'm pretty positive I'm the first person in this console. I will make sure to swing back by an give a update.
Same. Any solution?
