Great video, i tried this and it revitalized all three of my Wavebird controllers. What a quick and simple fix, very glad it was so easy! Thanks a ton for the info 👍
I have had my wavebirds for decades at this point. They worked but I recently bought 2 more receivers that would fail after a couple of minutes of play and the other would randomly respond. Decades! I did not know this you've just added to my gaming knowledge. For that I am eternally grateful. 🙏🏽
This method of cleaning the antenna in the receiver fixed my issue immediately. But it only lasted for about 10 minutes until it got disconnected....i'll try taking apart the controller and cleaning the antenna in there too next. Thanks for the very informative video, I think this has put me on the right path to troubleshooting the issue.
isopropyl alcohol is what you'd use. It's rubbing alcohol, but you specifically want 99% pure stuff because the added water in the regular 70% stuff can cause damage.
I bought 3 wave birds and they all connect and work. But sometimes the dongle has trouble with the initial connection. And it only favors one controller after connecting. I can’t turn it off and switch controllers. But once it connects it’s fine there no input lag or nothing. I did what you did in this video but it’s not any better. I also took apart and completely cleaned the wavebirds too. Is this normal?
An issue I’m having is that my receiver is lighting up green whenever I press a button, but getting no reaction after that in terms of an input on the console
There may be a couple of things: 1. Turn off the system, then change the channel on both the receiver and the controller. Sometimes certain channels just don't work... 2. Change it to a different controller port. Oddly enough, I've had this happen. 3. The controller signal may no longer be working correctly. (I dont believe this to be the case because the light on the receiver is turning green when you are pressing on the controller) Hopefully you can get a resolution on this!
Sometimes the receiver is broken beyond repair due to corrosion, this is common....I've tried to look for replacement components, but the closest I have come to this is just finding the piece itself broken or working....

I just got one from EBay as well n no good. I’ma give it a shot after this vid.
You definitely should, often times the antenna component gets corroded and a simple clean can get it back to working condition. Good luck!
Did it work?
@@VendettaAllan To be honest, i never got around too it. But i will eventually and let you know…
Wait, precisely what material did you use to clean? Sounds like you said IPA?

No problem!
I cleaned exactly everything you did in this video and it still won’t connect to receiver. Any ideas?
