@@chuckielover06 that’s putting it mildly, I had to practically give mine away. I remember when VR was an expensive hobby, now it seems that has changed greatly within less than a decade. It went from costing upwards of a few grand for a proper vr experience, to parents buying vr headsets like they are toys for their children on Christmas. I admit it’s nice for newcomers, but for those who bought vr equipment that depreciated to less than a quarter of its original cost within just a few years, buyers remorse really sets in. But that’s just how technology works, it’s expensive until you don’t want it anymore, then you find out it ages like milk.

Well for me its not only that they are making this a Quest3 exclusive but also that from the the tiny bit it was shown, they seem to be pushing the envelope on the graphics department. Probably the best looking game on Quest so far, aside Red Matter. But thats an entirely different genre with a lot less going on at any given time. Lets hope it does well.

It looks like they've taken all the great mechanics from Batman Arkham and put them in VR. It looks amazing. The combat looks amazing.

I just hope it doesn't hold your hand too much and we get as much freedom of movement and decisions as possible... im skeptical aftet seeing this but hopeful. I do not want to see anything like assassins creed nexus... that game was okay but didn't give enough freedom. Everything, especially the combat, just held your hand too much. We need more AAA Vr games for VR enthusiasts and not just beginners.
What's the problem with Assassin's Creed dude?
I played some flat screen games in the series, including AC3, Origins and Black Flag
For me this AC Nexus is just what I like about Assassin's Creed, the stealth and combat
The Open World doesn't add nothing to AC, IMO
And in Nexus you have the freedom to approach certain goals the way you want just like in any main AC
you can be more stealthy or go full Hack n Slash in certain parts

Assassins creed nexus is really not about combat but about stealth. If you play good you would basically never combat.

I’m psvr2 but so happy for the quest clan to get this. Plenty coming to psvr2 this year so I’m happy with that. But this looks great for quest. Well done to the dev team 👍🏽

Seems like ditching Quest 2 for Quest 3 exclusivity was the right move. You can instantly tell this isn't a Quest 2 game.

This is nonsense tbh. Assassins Creed Nexus and Red Matter 2 are on quest 2 and still look this good or even better on quest 3.
Using ASW would allow this game to render at 40 fps on quest 2.
I do have a quest 3 but the idea of these headsets becoming obsolete in terms of new game support just 2-4 years after release because of a minor SOC upgrade is silly.
@@coolertuep The new chip set is twice as powerful It’s not a minor upgrade and I don’t know where the 2 to 4 years is coming from it’s been 4 years. Asgard‘s wrath looks good, but did not look this good and Red matter 2 did look this good but the gameplay was very simple. There were no NPC the combat was very straightforward and simple and it was mostly puzzle solving. When the developers started developing Batman , they were using a quest 2 Dev kit and they said they could not keep frame rate at all, and it was a relief once they got the quest 3 Dev kit. Even in this trailer on the quest 3 the frame rate looks a little choppy in some parts. I understand the frustration for some but this is necessary and quest 2 is far from obsolete it gets 95% of the support that the Quest 3 gets. Everybody that didn’t get the quest 3 said there was no reason to upgrade and now that there’s a reason to upgrade people are complaining about it what kind of sense does that make? The industry cannot move forward with this attitude. I’m not even sure that standalone uses asynchronism space warp it might but regardless I’m sure the Dev‘s are using some type of upscaling as it is.

Quest 1 and Pro both got 1-2 years of first party support, quest 2 3 years.
2x performance increase is pretty minor. Usually you look at something like 5-10x as much performance between console generations to have an actual significant difference.
Again if they cant reach framerate target on quest 2 they could just use ASW and/or reduce render resolution. Also there is a lot of pr talking. Remember resident evil 4 vr being a quest 2 exclusive but ran totally fine on a quest 1? I wouldnt be surprised if people just sideload batman to their quest 2. thats one way to get people into not paying for games lol

Haven’t bought a standalone Quest game since last year as the graphics are not exactly convincing and kills the immersion but this looks close to PC quality.
This is the real power of the Quest 3 backed by AAA development. So far it has been held back by the Quest 2. Those simple Quest graphics will slowly be behind us.
If they get it close to Red Matter 2 in visual fidelity I'll shit a brick lol. As far as I'm concerned RM2 was a PC game they stuffed onto the quest 3

The chip was in development alongside the Snapdragon gen 3 and X elite chips, except it was custom built for Quest 3. Its Raw potential puts it somewhere above a base PS4, but it's also mobile, so power constraints.

The devs said they aimed to make the combat as close to the Arkham games as possible, it looks like they succeeded, it's a great fit for VR.

There are PCVR titles that don’t look that good.
But a lot pcvr gameswich look better. The phonechip is getting stonger but graphics card and consoles don't stand still and waiting for a phonechip to catch up. See it as nintendo ds and nintendo console. Don't go into android vr is replacement of pcvr bullshit. But i agree great work for an android game.

Hit man was always large set pieces and high crowd density from what I've seen. Visuals being compromised makes sense, but then again I'm not sure if that game is coming to Quest 2 or not, that would really explain it.

I guess it’s understandable, but I’m still a little disappointed at the lack of an open world. Maybe they can make a PC Arkham VR game that will have one. Otherwise, the gameplay looks identical to the previous Arkham games, which is really refreshing to see, but it better be longer than 4-5 hours if it isn’t getting an open world or else it’s just not worth the hype, or money.
It should be almost exactly how Arkham Asylum was. Open level where you can still explore. I think for now, people have to accept that standalone VR can't go full open world without heavy sacrifice. Asgard's Wrath 2 is a great start, but I think it is better to have a more focused experience right now that a stretched-out game where the tech can't keep up. This game is supposed to be the length of Arkham Asylum. So around 12ish hours.

For a mobile headset this does look really good for an early Q3 game. Definitely in the mid to high end PS3 level graphics equivalent range. Curious what else is possible as the development matures. By the time Q4 launches might have some even more amazing experiences. I suspect we really might have PS4 level graphics with Q4. I think the key is going to be AI up scaling and frame generation with engine optimization.
Watching a trailer and playing the game will be separate experiences. I didn't think much of red matter 2s quest 3 update trailer and that game has damn near pc high settings on a Quest 3., some small things were noticeably mobile looking, but the rest of the textures looked incredible, life like even. If batman gets anywhere close to that game in fidelity I'd say it's time to go buy one of these headsets for sure!
