A high hi-hat, records much much better. You have much less hi-hat bleed in the snare microphone, that's one of the reasons why. All the pro studio drummers will have their hi-hats high up like this.
Judging the man based on watching him warm up? The ladies love how he plays drums, and his purse reflects exactly that... He kept time the whole time, and that makes band mates, headbangers, dancers, moms...confident to listen. Not to mention, simple. Hard to mistake what you’re hearing who ever you may be. Takes me a good 20 min to warm up...40’s even better, and I like it to be private
