I'm sure glad you have this video up here! I installed my panels this evening using this video, since they didn't pack an instruction sheet with my order. Thanks for the tip about the D-rings. I cannibalized two D-rings from the floor of my cargo area and installed them as you described. One more thing, come on guys, I'm a little old lady and I was able to install these by myself! The panels are not that heavy, LOL! Per UPS, the shipping weight of the whole package was 23 pounds.
Just got mine, after 5 weeks of waiting... Superior Packaging, quality built and power coating. They look amazing and feel solid. They are almos flushed to the panel which I prefer.. Overall, very happy with the purchase. Thank you Rago. From a Texas Veteran to another.
Got these and installed them on my 4Runner this weekend and I LOVE them! I got them in raw steel, allowing me to customize the look to my preferences. I now have silk black with red flake panels and anodized red hardware. *Edit* I also ordered the suggested D-rings and they kinda complete the look.
Toyota D-ring part number is: 58460-35012. I went to Toyota's official website and ordered the part from a dealership. Slightly pricey, but it is a dealership.
Very Nice and Useful, Thanks Rago! Like the idea of using a D-Ring at top to replace traditional clothing hanger hooks. You could also purchase additional D-Ring's to replace the back OEM cargo net hooks by just adding them on before you add screw to bolt down and add small carabiners to clip cargo net back on for use.
Bought these panels a few weeks ago and installed using this video. They look great, everything shipped correctly and on time, easy to install. Thanks for the quality product.
Installed mine today.....just follow this video and its easy...great product...BTW I used the center on all the adjustable holes and it fit perfect on my 2019 4Runner....makes tightening lots easier. Thanks for the video
Really like this, but do we also have to “deal” with not being able to reach behind it to clean the window area? Would be cool to see a solution for that. I’m sold if I can clean behind it without unbolting the thing. Maybe an opening in the middle that opens and latches back into place? My runner gets dirty A LOT, so I like to clean it to keep it nice.
I've owned my 2017 4Runner for 2 years now and I have NEVER had to clean that window. LOL Plus, I have a decal on the outside and the tint is dark so I doubt anyone would see it anyways unless they were to open my trunk. Then again, who's looking at your trunk windows to see if they are clean? ;)
Hi, did I miss the link to the D ring from Toyota? I didn't see it in the links of the video? If you can, please provide me with the link so I can order the correct part, it is a great idea. Thank you!
No d-ring link? Also, you guys use new fasteners now, may want to update the video? I put it together as similar as i could, but when i go to install the panel, the nuts & bolt on the top is making hella contact with the plastic & headliner. If i tighten it then it will damage the headliner and plastic because its digging into it so hard. Not sure what im doing wrong here..
I really like the design of this one vs the one you make for the GX460. Firstly, there's that angled bit at the back. You really need that even more on the GX because its windows are further forward and harder to reach than on the 4Runner. Secondly, this one requires no drilling. I would very much like to see an updated version for GX460 with these improvements. And I'd be a buyer. Victory 4x4 makes one that is similar, but for some reason, they don't really follow the contour of the window and it just looks weird. For that reason I prefer yours, but the drilling is a deal killer for me. I'll have to wait until you fix that.
That looks AWESOME! One small request... can you create a way where one might be able to still use their cargo area cover. It attaches at the mount closest to the rear seats.
Jesse Harrahill good question. also, am I gonna wear out y hose threads taking on and off to clean g hose windows? I WILL be off road after all. thanks
Unfortunately, we use that as a mounting point. There was another company that did not use three mounting points and the stability suffered greatly. As far as the threads for cleaning, if there is another solution on how to attach the panel without using the spacers we have machined, please email us info@ragofabrication.com. We definitely willing to take any feedback on ways to improve but we have to know of a solution.
The bottom extensions rumble and makes squeaky sounds when going over bumps. How do I resolve this? I’ve tighten it to the point where I think it might break. Don’t know what else to do. Tried to use rubber washers as well but to no avail
I can try to get pricing on it but we would only be able to do it with a group buy of 20 people. If you have a group wanting them, please email me at info@ragofabrication.com and I will work on it.
I know these are not designed for sr5’s with third row seatings, but I never use the third row, can this still be installed or 4runners with third row designed different in the trunk?
Hard to justify the weight vs the functionality. I'd do them aluminium. They also function as a great anti-theft add-on for the rear cargo. But the weight, man, the weight.
I installed mine In a couple months ago, and they're really not heavy. I think they weighed like 5-10lbs a piece. When you're talking about winches, bumpers, roof racks, and spare tires, those add'l 10-20 total pounds isn't very much. They do add a lot of functionality tho. I love mine.
I hear ya. But...say these weigh 10 lbs apiece, just ballpark. That's only approximately 0.425% of the total weight (again, approximately) of the vehicle. That's 0.00425 of the total vehicle weight. I get it, every little bit counts. Looks like I'm gonna have to tell my girl to lose those D cups. Weight vs functionality haha ;)
Looks like it's 58460-35012. It's on the product page on the Rago website. www.ragofabrication.com/collections/5th-gen-4runner/products/5th-gen-toyota-4runner-modular-storage-panel-system-raw-steel

If you want a black Toyota D-ring clip try these...5846-35012 they are great!!! It’s called a Striker Ass. They are from a FJ and look better than the chrome ones.
We do but we have to finish editing it. You can check out the complete install instructions at www.ragofabrication.com/products/3rd-gen-toyota-4runner-molle-system-preorder
I really like the concept, but the price is too damn high in my opinion for what it is. I pick up my TRD Pro tomorrow and this product is very interesting to me.
SHWELL, hey I've been wanting it for a while and finally look on FB marketplace and found someone who is selling on there. So I just bought my set including the shelf for half of its original cost! Good luck!
I am very disappointed with the hardware (screws/washers/nuts) that came with the brackets. They are not stainless steel and the nuts are 7/16. I am not sure on the hex size but it is definitely not 5mm. You need to update your instructions.

And Im aslo installing these today its been a Rago type a Sunday A arm skids molle panels console bridge and dash bracket all today Im Rago AF!!
Excellent video! The reasoning behind it being snug to the window make total sense! Thanks
Installed mine today with the D-Rings. Looks great! Extremely well made. Nothing like adding a another quality product to the 2017 Off Road 4Runner.

If you mount this, does that mean that you can no longer use the cargo net since the bottom bolt took place of the hook?
Can you please provide link for the factory D-ring you mentioned in the video? Thanks

Nice. I am considering getting one. Would be nice if you added links to all the gadgets you have hanging.

Do you ever have to remove the panels to clean the windows behind? 🤔
How much weight can the shelf hold?
I really like this panels , i think amazon messed up and im missing some brackets some nuts and bolts😂
Great brother. Buying a set now.
I have the 3rd-row seating, does anyone know if these cause interference when that back seat is up?
Will these fit on a gx470??? These looks really clean, plus the added security they will provide from hobos busting out rear windows trying to steal
These are great. I see you have some GX470 products are you planning to add these 3rd window brackets for the Lexas, GX ans LX lines?
Thanks!
Do you design these for other SUV's?
Do these work with 3rd row seating?
Hey, Rago.. good idea. Any chance you will manufacture aluminium plates? You know, trying to save weight where I can.
I can try to get pricing on it but we would only be able to do it with a group buy of 20 people. If you have a group wanting them, please email me at info@ragofabrication.com and I will work on it.
I believe more people would buy it as Aluminum vs Steel.
ron bee We can offer aluminum but it's much more expensive.
I know these are not designed for sr5’s with third row seatings, but I never use the third row, can this still be installed or 4runners with third row designed different in the trunk?
It will work not problem. We just don't recommend putting people in the 3rd row after they are installed.
