This is really a great idea! You're so right, why are molle panels so expensive for the simplicity of what they are!? Your idea will help a lot, thank you so much!!
Awesome! Thank you. I just had trouble spending $3-400 for one that weren’t made for my rig (too old). This will be perfect. I’ll put my blackout behind them to keep it cooler for my dogs. They can look out the 2nd row or back window.
Solid. My rear quarter window just broke and was planning on getting a velox gulwing with a molle panel. But now ima just gonna do this and replace the window lol
As far as install- you pretty much just drilled into the plastic? I'd be a little worried about nothing fastening the screws from the other side after the threaded plastic wears a bit
Nice! I want to do something similar to what you did but I want mine to have swivels on the bottom edge so i can store a blanket in a vac sealed bag behind it
I need to do somthing like this! My poor 4Runner just started pissing oil from the front crank seal 😭 but when it’s going I am going to look into this!
I just spent over $400 on two panels for my 4th gen. I don't understand the price tag when you consider the simplicity of the item other than their serious weight and strength. But who hangs more than 50lbs on these? Glad to see you got creative. I will use your attempts to apply to my 3rd gen. ❤
I'm share the same mentality as you, I use Digico consoles and rather spend all my money on audio gear. Also have to make everything for my 4runner on a budget because of that! thanks for the vid you just saved me some money!
It looks like the common grid size is 1" × 1.5" or 1" ×1". The grid size of PVC lattice are usually bigger no? How's the compatibility with the MOLLE pouches in your exp?
What’s the long term review of this project? We used PVC landscaping lattice for, of all things, landscaping. The expansion and contraction based on temperature was alarming. I really would like for this to be something that works; I’m just having questions given my experience with the product. I’m guessing that using aluminum angle iron across the top and bottom instead of brackets would stiffen the whole assembly.
Holding up great! Zero complaints. Haven’t noticed any issues over time or temperature differences. Aluminum angle iron would absolutely stiffen it up though, great idea!
if the rigidity was an issue you could always double stack the stuff for each side help with rigidity
That’s what I thought. My plan is to dbl stack. Thanks 😊
This is what I was coming to comments for… double stack and epoxy them together.
Rivnuts work great for fastening brackets to the plastic.
You could use that rubber fairing trim to finish the circumference. Nice work.

You are a BOSS!!! I just ordered a panel from Home Depot before I even finished the video. Woohoo!
This just saved me hundreds of dollars. Subed
Love to hear! More videos eventually!
Awesome. I actually have a bunch of pvc lattice left over from a job . Thanks for the tips
Totally doing this on my FJ and if I can get a big enough piece, I might put it on the back rack of my mini truck.

Love it! Always a fan of DIY projects like this!

@@MediumBang yup, have had zero issues since installing over a year ago.

That’s dope !! Keep the videos coming brother, even if it’s just regular maintenance, cleaning , upgrades or mods.
Awesome Idea! Heading to Menards this weekend to do this mod!
Brother this is great! Been wanting these for my Grand Cherokee. This will be awesome.
This is genious!! Never would have thought it!!
Great idea! But how will you install your window shades when camping?
Awesome! That's a great idea! I may do this to our 4th gen 4Runner.
Good job.
I will do this in my truck topper windows.

You should attempt a shelving system in the future
Agreed! I hang the basics on mine. A shelf system is something I thought of. Maybe a winter project next season!
If u want it more sturdy just double stack 2 sets
Pretty cool idea.

Awesome idea man!!!

looks good 👌🏽
Thank you! Super stoked with how they turned out, can't wait to load them up!
Great idea, like it! Thanks subbed to your channel. I'm looking for an inexpensive option for this.

Great idea do you have a link?

Nope, get screwin.
Hey nice job.......
You could just take aluminum sheet and cut your own panels
Just subscribed! I’m subscriber 13 lol
