Being a old Marine that was issued the ALICE backpack we could of used these . these kids now have all the cool stuff. LoL. These are absolutely fantastic for strap containment & the ability to hold something you need on a strap such as a flashlight & ect..
Thanks for the video. I was on the fence of whether to order these off Amazon, and was unsure of the quality. For $13, it's probably worth taking the plunge either way, but this gives me a little more confidence in them. One small point of order. It's called "shock cord" not "shot cord". Because it's stretchy and absorbs 'shocks' without loosening and losing retention.
@@bobbyhewitson2082 🤣 the weapon systems I'm good with tested a lot of the beta versions of what they use now,it's the gear I was lost on like 'WTF is this velco thingy for?" Seriously I still use ranger bands and duck tape.
the Assortment is invaluable for attaching all kinds of items to your pack, Kudos on you explanation of each item. the Strap dominator is also very useful for para cord retention and can be used for quick flip out retention on items that are needed to retrieve in a hurry.
I think you could take the excess stretch cord from the web dominator and loop it back through the part that you cinch up to get rid of the excess slack.
Had to comment. Was very sceptical at first but I bought these about 3 years ago. I thought I would never use them, and 3 sets of purchases in, I'm usung them all, prob grab another set soon. They're so versatile. Not very heavy duty, but does the trick for 90% of what I need. Maxpedition tacties are great for pouch and heavy duty use, but just as flexible attachment doohickies, these are awesome
You can usually wrap the shock cord twice around the dominator and still get it to lock into place, or wrap around the dominator also works. Or just cut it to length if you want more fixed solution.
I have a bunch of sets of these. They're upwards of $18 now. I use them a lot and find them to be quite handy and have far more uses than you showed here and they are applicable to many other systems. They aren't a magic solution to every problem but are very useful. I use the clips to clip smaller molle bags to my pack mostly, the web dominators are a better solution to loose straps than the elastic bands that always stretch out and dry rot. They are adequate for holding gear to your pack or other bags, if you trim the cords down to where they can't work loose and mostly good only for lightwieght objects, heaver things eventually work loose and fall out, I lost an Olight Warrior Pro and a Gerber Strongarm because of this but that was my own fault for not making sure they were secure enough. A good addition to your gear for sure
I'm close to buying one of these sets. Sadly enough the bootsteady one's are sold out. And all others On Amazon have reviews that complain about bad (china) quality or missing pieces. The dominator clips look really useful though. So might take the gamble.
I've bought multiple sets. They are all cheap and plastic. But that's kind of the point for most of them. They are useful and disposable so when one breaks its not a big deal
My tactical bag I bought from Amazon is nice but the molle area is only about 6 inches wide, so all of these accessories I'll never use. Guess ill have to find less accessor kit.
Instead of using the web dominator for excess strap management cut an inch and a half length of bicycle innertube and either roll the strap up and put the "ranger band" around the whole lot or put the end of the strap inside the band and wrap it up around one side of the band using the unwrapped side to hold it in place. Easier to do than to explain, there must be a YT video that shows it.
so I bought a molle attachment for a armor set as well as a vest to attach the molle can someone explain or send me a video of what might the best way to attach both the armor and the molle to I have like 0 clue what I'm doing haha
Theyre meh. Youd probably want as few as possible. Personally i like old school ruck sacks. The nylon poly stuff is bad on my hands theres a ton of straps. I got a pack of loose straps and buckles on whamazon and a grommet setter tool. Fun. 😎
Those carabiners could come in very handy. I have a few of those myself but they are absolutely cheap china trash. I wouldn't trust them to hold more than a pair of gloves...
I would not recommend US SOCOM use these, but I think they will hold up just fine for hiking and light camping. The “grey” area might be the middle more intensive civilian uses like trekking or EMS. For those I would say use them with caution, and don’t rely on them to hold any mission critical items. I use them for things like attaching my rifle cleaning kit to my range bag and clipping my ball cap to my backpack to go through airport security. They are more than robust enough for those level of purposes (though TSA broke the actual pack one of these was connected to once)
I know this is an old vid but I just have to comment. Last month my cousin ordered this set from Amazombie. What he received was aftermarket garbage, not even low grade American gatbage. These pieces of plastic ARE NOT ITW NEXUS manufactured equipment! Buyers beware.
The kit you bought is all chinese no name. The original makers of those were likely USA manufacturers for the military or at least a western manufacturer for the military. ITW didn't make the ones you own, The ones you own are copies of ITW products. I'm not trying to dis you for buying chinese gear. Your choices are your own. I myself have a lot of chinese gear. btw, you can likely find this kit a lot cheaper on Aliexpress.
To the best of my knowledge, the U.S. military has never purchased or utilized these. I might be wrong, but if they ever were used by uncle same it was not widespread. I’m also not claiming that you can’t get more expensive or cheaper versions, but this are the ones that were ALL OVER Amazon at the time that I made the video, and my friends were always asking each other if anyone had ever tried those or had any idea what they were about. We searched RUclips and didn’t find anything, so I ponied up and bought a pack, and just to fill in the knowledge gap, I videoed my thoughts.
@@gentlemangreyman it may not have been originally made for the US military. Maybe by some other US manufacturer for civilian use or for some other military around the world. But the Grimlocks (D-shaped push button carabiners) are US military in origin. Even the Molle attachment clips to attach a pouch to PALS webbing are military in origin, manufactured by MFH. I was broken in on an Alice pack. I recall tearing little strips of 100 mph tape to manage all the straps.

Well hell... these guys came in my 511 bags and I didn't know what they were for. Now I know....thanks.
Thanks for doing this. It might seem obvious to others but it was great to see how these things are supposed to be used!
I did it, cause it wasn’t initially obvious to me.
Spent 22 years in the Army got out in late 2005 and I had no idea WTF half that stuff was for..appreciate the video! 👍
Right? Why didn't they ever train us on cool things like this?

If you can do it with duct tape and 550 cord, can you really do it at all?

Thanks for the good video and the various attachment ideas. For those on the fence about buying this kit..it is WELL worth the $13 cost now in 2022.

I appreciate it. I was looking into these.
Got the black for my kit , they’re good quality

I say look for one of the cheaper sets. If it’s not great quality you’d still only be out a couple of bucks.
Most of these are cheap plastic from China pretty much everything is from overseas. Just look for the few products left that say Made in USA. 😁

the WebDominator is a Super attachment for things like TQs. fast and easy.

I see you putting these on individual straps. Is it hard / impossible to get them attached to molle webbing?

I find them mildly helpful, but for the dirt cheap price that is enough. I’m happy to keep them around for when I need to grab one.
