Another point I'd like to make: I've been down the rabbit hole myself, and these "optimizing" RUclipsrs are well aware of it. They are cashing in on this rabbit hole that many people find themselves in. Thank you for all the hard work. My two cents on it: If your PC is modern and powerful enough, and your hardware and BIOS are configured correctly, what’s the point of optimizing Windows anymore? From what I see in the graph, it’s better to run a vanilla Windows and keep all functionality. I do see the case that if you’re unfortunate enough to have a less powerful PC, optimizing Windows might be a big help.
Good Benchmark, but I want to point out a few things. These are all tested with presumably fresh installations for each one. While it's somewhat still a fair test, it doesn't take into account the fact that a stock windows install with no debloating or optimisations is going to gradually get worse over time with use. The optimisation tools also don't just focus on raw performance but the user experience itself, whether that be making windows feel faster and have less clutter and annoyances.
Does it though? I used to reinstall every 3-5 days because the games would start feeling bad again. I use parts of fr33thy's guide, largely stock and had no problems.

Hi mate thanks for taking your time to do all this. I was also wondering what the results of this might be nowadays. Any reason you didnt test tiny11? Not a critisicm just wondering.
Hey mate all these isos come to the same conclusion so throwing a few more in the works wouldn't change the outcome. Needed to keep my sanity somehow. There was a Russian iso and xillyos wanted to try out. Unfortunately they had a pay wall. I also wanted to keep my sanity in the process.
@@FR33THY Yea that's fair enough. No real difference from any of them. Personally I enjoyed using tiny 11 because of the lack of apps, but I'm probably just going to run stock 11 while trying to follow the optimisation tips at the bottom of the GitHub guide.
It's a cool video, but I have one question. Does HPET really not work? When I have it turned off by default, it gives 470 fps on the benchmark map, and when I turn it off, it gives 560 in cs2
On older cpus it made a huge difference 4770k erra. I remember this well! Nowadays it's not an issue and most motherboard vendors hide the setting. As if you disable it via bios you can't run certain applications. It's off by default on windows and just gets toggled on when needed. This wasn't the case on some really old pcs back in the day.
The better windows 11 Server Warzone fps benchmark could be the scheduling, maybe in Server it assings the correct P-cores or all of it to the game, instead of using the E-cores sometimes, thats why i always disable E-cores, this happens in spiderman remastered to, it would be great to test it with E-cores disable or use something like Process Lasso, also you could check the render worker count and see if it is the same on the warzone files...

Imo, although it doesn't improve performance in most cases (which I already knew) it doesn't make it useless to me - custom ISOs are beneficial due to the overall system responsiveness improvements I feel (such as programs don't hang as long, etc). I can feel the difference between stock windows vs my personal tweaked version because everything is more snappy. But its important everyone knows what the real advantages are vs having false expectations. If you want to do another test exploring other possible improvements like battery life that's interesting though. That's one area I'm unsure about is laptops and gaming handhelds and how it affects them with less processes
These custom ISOS are really bad for laptop users because most of them use forced power plans, so your laptop would run at "max performance" mode all the time, and you probably didn't watch the whole video or read the guide, pls do. Warning. Only time I recommend Custom ISO of windows any version is when you build it yourself. Windows Optimizations and better done yourself again. Never trust anyone to build your ISO for windows that is a huge risk.
Also when you make a custom ISO it not a huge gain in gaming performance on newer hardware. you are lucky to get 3 to 5 fps more in many games. PS to make a Custom ISO takes hours. So is it really worth it. Depends how you look at it. If for gaming performance not really. For other things like tracking and what not then yes. But for the normal user should not really worry about it.

Of course a stock windows vs optimized will be slightly better in some benchmarks. My point Here was to prove a stock windows with scripts vs custom would have the same outcome.
i'll never understand why people do these "optimisation benchmarks & debunks" on hardware that's absolutely bonkers, do it on low end stuff that's where it helps the most, debloating and slimming an OS on a 16 core MONSTER and a 4090 is just a joke, for the love of god people. The difference between a 16 core ryzen monster and lets say a 4th/5th gen i7 when it comes to OS Bloat is night and day you of all people should of known todo this on a lower tier system not your daily rig. BUT for the sake of your sanity and the sake of me already knowing it works (if you do it manually from an original OS not download someone elses) you don't gotta lose sleep over it.
I talked about this. You didn't read the guide/watch the video and came to your own conclusion. Did you not hear the part about my son's laptop? Oh no that's right you didn't watch it hey? 😮
@@FR33THY i came with the same remark halfway during the video, your argument was you don't need to save cpu because you have enough. Wich made me quit the video entirely.
At the end of the day it’s a matter of how much time do you want to waste. Yes you can go in and manually remove everything or you go download a custom os that everything is already done. 🤣 so saying they are useless or do nothing when comparing to a basic full bloat windows is bs we all know that. And yes you can go fix it yourself but who has the time to go learn all that… if they just wana get 20 more fps and play the game 💀
i dont get it though so there is no such thing as windows tuning/optimization? just changing power settings and windows update delivery optimization is an optimization.... what are we talking about here ?
I am on atlas os and disabled stuff like defender and mitigations and stuff (I’m very careful about what I install so don't really need those) and that helped my frames by like +50% ish

Help . I can't find any good videos on how to stop the crackling pop noises on my PC audio .
Its probably a board issue bro
@@FR33THY it seems only to happen with my audio interface only. Not the headphones PC port
What ? you said in the previous video that you were rolling bkac to W10 after being on W11 for 4 months and that you had issues with it
Yes im about to main 2022 server w10, I've been busy doing benchmarks and installs dude. No time for me stuff ATM 😂
@@FR33THY i would love if you do a video on how to install win 2022 server :)
@@FR33THY any reasons why youre going to windows 10 server?
why you taskbar dont have fixed itens? This is good for pc optimization
?
no
Again do not download custom ISO, build it yourself.
@@zushikatetomotoshift1575 i debloat system simply for simpler look, i just want browser, games and some apps on my computer and least tasks in task manager
did anyone ever actually proved this? factual evidence about major iso being spyware infected?
@@mircomputers talking to a person who has been in pc's for 20 years plus many skills. If you know anything remember the custom skins for steam overlay that some had stuff and it would steal your account. Yes very old but still applies all it takes is one bad apple.
I remember testing specter vs the ntlite win10 you did a couple years ago and the ntlite version was faster in benchmarks
Of course a stock windows vs optimized will be slightly better in some benchmarks. My point Here was to prove a stock windows with scripts vs custom would have the same outcome.
Sorry but on Intel platform Windows 10 have better fps and lower latency. On AMD Windows 10 and only Windows 11 24H2 have the same performance.
i'll never understand why people do these "optimisation benchmarks & debunks" on hardware that's absolutely bonkers, do it on low end stuff that's where it helps the most, debloating and slimming an OS on a 16 core MONSTER and a 4090 is just a joke, for the love of god people.
@Pasha30003 Yea like a Lamborghini is going to beat a Toyota any day. No matter how insane the tune is on the Toyota 😂
Probably because so many people with higher end PCs use these custom ISOs and make all these claims about how its much better.
@@FR33THY i came with the same remark halfway during the video, your argument was you don't need to save cpu because you have enough. Wich made me quit the video entirely.
@@mircomputersFr33thy has been exposed in the past and is quite literally an idiot lmao

If doom can run on a toaster, we clearly have more windows optimization to do.

Oled is kinda blurry. Not really a fan. Returned my msi 360 1440p oled for a 540 zowie.
Because of the RGB layout, it's mostly only blurry on desktop though not in game
You can definetly remove the blurriness in game. Its either a monitor issue or ur graphics settings not being corrected to OLED properly
Try micro 11 v2 24h2 blew my mind do a vid on it!!!!!!!!!
I'll probably go with 10 LTSC, thoughts?

At the end of the day it’s a matter of how much time do you want to waste. Yes you can go in and manually remove everything or you go download a custom os that everything is already done. 🤣 so saying they are useless or do nothing when comparing to a basic full bloat windows is bs we all know that. And yes you can go fix it yourself but who has the time to go learn all that… if they just wana get 20 more fps and play the game 💀
bro, I don't know about you but I like my windows to be bloated af
😆
i dont get it though
so there is no such thing as windows tuning/optimization?
just changing power settings and windows update delivery optimization is an optimization....
what are we talking about here ?
I am on atlas os and disabled stuff like defender and mitigations and stuff (I’m very careful about what I install so don't really need those) and that helped my frames by like +50% ish

But why do u still use chrome? U should know better
