I have an idea for you next competition video. Small knives, small enough to fit on a keychain. Maybe something like the Boker Subcom, Kershaw Ember, SOG Micron, Spyderco Bug, Cold Steel Micro.
i think high end is a bit relative, but its been a year!! can you guys do a competition video like this one, but with 'tactical' vs 'gentlemens' edc knives?
I love watching your videos. Videos varying from educating customers on the different types of knives to what type is best for them are great! Also the videos showing how the knives work in real world situations are a BIG PLUS. None the less my favorite videos are the competitions. Keep up the great work and to Jaron, best of luck to you.
I always enjoy these videos. I think a competition where one is required to choose and use both a slipjoint and tactical folder for a set of tasks would be interesting.
Already own an Odino and love it, but that 940 does look like a performer as well! Great video as always guys, and good luck to you Jaron in your new endevours!
Nice idea. This could branch out into competitive sports. You could to a "3-gun" like competition with large fixed, EDC and a keychain. Fun format. Makes me re-evaluate my choices.
you guys should try it with the benchmade bedlam. I know my knife would have killed all of that much easier because of the blade design. only thing that would have been slow would have been the three times opening but I'd be willing to get it would out preform both of those knifes easily! awesome video guys! love watching yalls stuff
i'd love to get one of these knives! they are beautiful, it also would be my first real high end knife! If i'd had to choose, the Odino would probably be my favorite (I am willing to pay international shipping)
Both of these knives look fantastic! I have never heard of viper knives before, but I am impressed. But that 940 tho.... really want to pick one of those up! Best of luck Jaron!!
Awesome vid and competition. Thanks and best to Jaron w his future endeavors. I was hoping a spyderco would get used but nonetheless great knives chosen.
This is a very cool video, really shows the capabilities of the two knifes. I think they both performed very well and any of these two would be a great addition to my knife collection. Thanks for opportunity.
So what is it called when you get the higher end version of a high end knife? I traded in my Benchmade 0940 for a Benchmade 940-1. Lol! Benchmade makes some great knives and the 940 is one of their best for sure! I know neither of the knives in the vid were budget but I was expecting Sebenzas and Striders or at least that price range. But I guess that's just how I categorize knives. Great vid and you will be missed Jarron!
Great video guys, both knives preformed amazing and i especially loved how fast the benchmade cut the rope compared to the spyderco from last year. Gonna miss you Jaron you guys made some amazing videos hope you have success at your new job.
While hardly a scientific analysis, it's still really cool to see these knives being put through some challenges that a consumer may face...though in an entertaining way. I wish there was just a little more time given to explain how/why these knives were selected over others for the challenge.
Missed opportunity. Shouldve done pm2 vs 940
Agreed !
No reason we all know spyderco would win
@@tristonevanko5726 but only by a hair
@@tristonevanko5726 The glove might have made closing harder in the PM2
Michael Schwartz maybe but the compression lock is still easy to use with gloves
You should also add “sharpening” as an event. Dull them up and see how quickly you can put a nice edge back on them.
940, pretty much the best Benchmade EDC IMO. I love mine like a child.
Doesn't cut well-bad blade geometry
@@tonyochoa7097 blah blah blah.
@@tonyochoa7097this video literally proved u wrong
7:51 Mark really knows how to make a box squirt.
ChrisXia554 ...
giggity
You should have done paramilitary 2
Would have won-good blade geometry, but when it comes to 'one ring to rule them all',it's the hogue doug ritter
I have an idea for you next competition video. Small knives, small enough to fit on a keychain. Maybe something like the Boker Subcom, Kershaw Ember, SOG Micron, Spyderco Bug, Cold Steel Micro.
+Cole3418 Key chain knife competition? That could be doable.
@@BladeHQ well... We're waiting...
@@BladeHQ 4 years later i dont see the video.
Make it happen
I've had a 940 for coming up on 7 years, still my favorite knife to EDC for good reason!
hows the omega spring holding up?
12 years right now.. how’s it doing?
i think high end is a bit relative, but its been a year!! can you guys do a competition video like this one, but with 'tactical' vs 'gentlemens' edc knives?
I second that thought
+WALDO OMG!!! MOOOOOMMMM I FOUND WALDOOOOOOO!!!!!
+asleepyinsomnia High end can be relative and relatively speaking these were higher end than the one we used before.
+KnifeHQ quick question, was there any edge rolling or chipping after the competition? that tape looks evil
+KnifeHQ Do the tactical vs gentleman please! Great idea. Or fixed blade vs folder with different tasks
The new BHQ crew should revisit this competition. It’s quite enjoyable, even after all these years.
good luck Jaron. love the benchmade axis lock, think that and the blade shape is what helped win.
I have been considering a 940 for a while and it is encouraging to see it performs well in practical tests
The 940 is considered to be the best edc ever made
I go for the Benchmade 940 myself, like the blade design. Fun video!
So long, Jaron! We've watched your knowledge of blades grow in your time with us.
Nice video. sorry to hear Jaron is leaving, I really enjoy the videos y'all put out.
Spyderco Manix2XL G10 S30V has been my EDC for 5 year's now & I love this knife.
Gotta love that 940!! One of my favorite EDC blades.
This is the best idea Blade HQ has ever had. extraordinarily entertaining, nice job guys.
So glad I just received my first benchmade yesterday
Great to see the knives perform. Good job BladeHQ.
A really fun test to watch! Highly entertaining.
I am a big fan of Benchmade. Functionally the Osborn is tough to beat.
These old videos were the best... bring these back
I love watching your videos. Videos varying from educating customers on the different types of knives to what type is best for them are great! My custom orange g10 &moon glow 940 should be here in the morning but I'd love a second one. Great video, good luck Jarron
6 years later, the 940 is still one of the best EDCs.
It the best
My EDC is a yojimbo 2 with S30v steel , it is absolutely amazing
I always enjoy these videos. I think a competition where one is required to choose and use both a slipjoint and tactical folder for a set of tasks would be interesting.
I absolutely love the 940 perfect edc in my mind
I have one,but I prefer my 943
Awesome Competition video guys! I will miss you Jaron! You have been awesome with these vids
Awesome chance! And great for doing it international, like it supposed to be on the world wide web! Thank you so much for this opportunity!
Benchmade FTW! Their factory is a few miles north from where I live so it feels nice to support a local company
I totally want one of those knives. The benchmade 940 has been on my list for awhile now
Already own an Odino and love it, but that 940 does look like a performer as well! Great video as always guys, and good luck to you Jaron in your new endevours!
I like the competitions. I'd love one of these. They look awesome. It's nice to have an EDC that performs and looks great.
Nice idea. This could branch out into competitive sports. You could to a "3-gun" like competition with large fixed, EDC and a keychain. Fun format. Makes me re-evaluate my choices.
I think the benchmade 940 is the best edc, it’s great, whish I had one
Great video. The course included all the uses of an EDC
Great competition. I personaly found axis lock best choice for me. Most of the times, i can only use one hand and wrist opening is my favourite.
Love the sound on the juice boxes. Awesome again guys!!!!
was rootin' for the viper, but the benchmark took the cake. right on for this challenge! always love a good knife showdown
you guys should try it with the benchmade bedlam. I know my knife would have killed all of that much easier because of the blade design. only thing that would have been slow would have been the three times opening but I'd be willing to get it would out preform both of those knifes easily! awesome video guys! love watching yalls stuff
I'm a big fan of the Axis lock on Benchmade knives, but i really like the look of that Viper Odino.
i'd love to get one of these knives! they are beautiful, it also would be my first real high end knife! If i'd had to choose, the Odino would probably be my favorite (I am willing to pay international shipping)
I love the Benchmade 940! It is my dream EDC, but I have not been able to pick one up yet.
Benchmade is love, Benchmade is life
Pretty cool concept and video, hope to see another competition this year.
I love the anodizing done on the Odino!
Love the 940! And that carbon fiber on the odino!
That Benchmade is for sure my next purchase, but the action on that viper is SUPER smooth looking.
The axis is smoother
It's sad to see Jaron go, but he did a great job a BHQ. Awesome video guys and thanks for the GAW!
I'll get in on this. Have been lusting after both knives for a while.
Cool blades and cool videos. Good luck on your next adventure Jaron.
You had a good run, Jaron. Good luck at the new company!
Both of these knives look fantastic! I have never heard of viper knives before, but I am impressed. But that 940 tho.... really want to pick one of those up! Best of luck Jaron!!
Lot of fun guys. Both look like they'll do the trick
I have seriously thought about the Odino. Very slick blade.
Great video, love to see the blades put to actual use.
I've liked this video before I've even watched it. As soon as the course was explained.....LIKED!
Both of these knifes look and performed great and love the competitions
Love the look of the 940... always loved Benchmade performance.
I could watch these all day!
You can't ever go wrong with the 940 it's a bulletproof knife and it won't disappoint
Awesome vid and competition. Thanks and best to Jaron w his future endeavors. I was hoping a spyderco would get used but nonetheless great knives chosen.
Love my Benchmade Grip and after seeing this competition I think I need to take a look at picking up a 940 now too!
I love these competitions, knives looked like they performed great!
Awesome. Thanks for the chance!
Very cool, I would love to try this one at home
Awesome vid! Was excited to see the 940 in the competition! Well done!
Awesome video. I have the 940 sitting in my wish list!
I've been eyeballing that odino for a while I might have to pick one up soon.
This is a very cool video, really shows the capabilities of the two knifes. I think they both performed very well and any of these two would be a great addition to my knife collection. Thanks for opportunity.
I hope the competition videos keep going
The Benchmade Osborne 940 is a fantastic knife. Shared on Google+ and entered.

I'm totally down for one of those beautiful knives.

This video proves how awesome high end knives are! Benchmade 940 is awesome shared it on Facebook.
Great video guys, both knives preformed amazing and i especially loved how fast the benchmade cut the rope compared to the spyderco from last year. Gonna miss you Jaron you guys made some amazing videos hope you have success at your new job.
+LC Bushcraft i would really love to win one of those high end amazing knives
Awesome competition, would love either one!
Count me in! Love these competition vids. Good Luck, Jaron! I hope things go well for you!
I like the benchmade 940 , but the viper odino looks awesome , we are gonna miss Jaron
found this channel recently but it is the best channel for knives i've ever seen
+Brandon Sheehan Thanks, and thanks for watching.
Love the Benchmade. I have an S30V Volli. excellent slicer with the thinner blade.
the benchmade 940 looks so nice
Count me in!! Always enjoy the competition videos, although I will admit I was hoping for a ZT or Sebenza or something.
Very fun video. You guys have the best job!! Love all videos you put out. Great job
Cool vid. You can never go wrong with a Benchmade
Awesome guys really put them to the test! Love that benchmade...
Great video guys. Sad to see Jaron go. Good luck buddy!
I've always wanted a 940, never had the money, would love to have one though!
Love the 940! I love the competition videos. Keep em coming.
Both are really cool knives. The 940 is almost too thin for me, but it's still awesome
great video. makes me really want to pick up that benchmade
gonna buy the benchmade 940-1
Do it. Such a great knife.
+Blade HQ do you have a 75% off discount code lol
Same
It’s a good knife, I just don’t like mine.
m m 75% off I might be able to afford one.
Great knifes better competition keep up the good work good to see how knifes really function and compare with each other
Both knives look awesome! I loved the green handles on the Benchmade!
The odino cut surprisingly well considering it's basically a Lionsteel (those have real thick edges)
While hardly a scientific analysis, it's still really cool to see these knives being put through some challenges that a consumer may face...though in an entertaining way. I wish there was just a little more time given to explain how/why these knives were selected over others for the challenge.
+Mike Rixman These were personal carries, so I think aesthetics went a long way in selection.
Wishing Jaron luck in his future endeavors. Thanks for the awesome videos.
Nice competition and interesting knife choices. I probably would have chosen a bigger blade though
