lets be honest, much of gaming today is just playing dress-up with our favourite barbie dolls, our Geralts, Arthur Morgans, Kratoses etc. I love Kratos in a skirt
I think The Witcher 2 had better armour for sure. The leather jackets that have bits of armour attached were amazingly well designed. The Witcher 3 (best game ever imo) has too many armour sets that are affiliated with either countries or factions which, tbh I don't think Geralt would wear. Aside from the Witcher School sets which look incredible in all forms, the Cidarian Cavalry Armour is my fav for sure.
Exactly how i think. I really like the basic and enhanced witcher gear, after that they get too bulky and doesnt look agile. I favourite is the basic wolven armour, because it just makes sense and fits right in with eskel and lamberts look, but a shame its level 14 and by the time you reach kaer morhen you'll be around 20. That is if you don't rush the main 2 acts of the game
@@temperspace I usually prefer the superior wolf, superior cat, viper, forgotten wolf and NG+ version of Manticore. They look like they give a decent amount of protection while still allowing Geralt to be agile and nimble. I'm not a big fan of the flashiness of the grandmaster armor sets either, they just look out of place everywhere except Toussaint, especially the griffin armor.
Agreed. I liked the unique design of The Witcher 2 armors, especially with the books on the armors (I always thought it's a bestiary or alchemy book, very fitting for a witcher). I get that in The Witcher 3 they aimed for a more realistic look of the regular armors, the problem is that I feel like a witcher wouldn't use regular armors at all. Especially not faction ones, like you mentioned.
The globose shape of the breastplates is a real thing present in XIV-XVI century armour, it's designed to deflect blows better and disperse the kinetic force of the hit.
@@filiblackthornthis is the same game where days are shortest on the north and longer on the south. I would otherwise agree with you but cdpr had a clear focus on verosimilitude.
@@Andrekurzephimimus i understand you, but when it comes to an armor, and one of the best at that, you want it to look as good as possible, and i know that some people like how it looks, but we are talking about the majority, and the majority don't like it, they want to make the game realistic wich is great, but surely in some special cases exceptions can be made
@@filiblackthorn I get that, but I think the exeption exists in the nilfgaard sets. Those ornate, beautifuly decorated sets are the prettiest ones around, but they are one of the few exeptions. The armor in the game mostly being broken, old or simple is there to support the idea that you are in the poorest places in lands at war. Finding pretty or even clean armor is hard. I too would've liked to see sets as pretty as the temerian one, which I quite like, but I do appriciate the narrative cohesion it brings to have these other ones instead. Besides, the toussaint sets are beautiful AND narratively fitting.
In the tutorial, they say that light armor makes you faster able to dodge better, vs. heavy armor. But I just did a little experiment with the Cyclops in Skellige and I didn't see much difference. I did get hit with maybe 100-300 points damage with light armor on, but for the most part is there really any difference? If you're getting protected more with heavy armor on, why not just go with that?
Lighter armor makes your stamina regen much faster but there’s no difference in dodging. Basically you can cast signs faster and use special attacks more with lighter armor
i've been trying to find a video like this for ages, a simple visual respresentation of all armor sets in the game... others rank them or discuss them, I don't give a flying arse about that, I just want to see them :D
Amazing job! It could be really useful if you copy and paste the armor stats, or pros and cons, in a screen angle. Many new players are coming on Yt for guides and tips!
Finally got around to playing this game. I'm still early on in the game abs I'm hating the look of every armor I've found so far except the starting gear. Why everything gotta be so ugly? Lol Glad to see theres some seriously awesome looking gear out there. Quick question, if I have the DLCs installed, is there a chance to find new armors in the main game?
Oh just have patience bud, you will get access to the good looking witcher gears soon enough. I still use the starting armor in my new playthrough because it looks good and it's what geralt uses lore-wise. I complement the warriors jacket with the wolf set though, with the gloves, boots and trousers. If you dont mind stats and builds so much, you can mix up armors how you want, but thats up to you since the game do not have a transmog system.
temerian set would be one of the greatest to wear if this blue stripe was deleted or at least fully sewn. EDIT. Also, can anybody tell me why tf ursine mastercrafted has a proper collar which bends with gerald jaw and wolf school mastercrafted has this ugly ass collar which seems unmovable by geralts jaw? The look of his face clipping through this drives me nuts to the point I won't wear it just because of it.
Tourney champion's laurels is a mask and quest item in the Blood and Wine expansion. To receive it, one must do the secondary quest, The Warble of a Smitten Knight, and win every stage in the tourney (shooting, race, combat, and finally win against Gregoire de Gorgon). This is then rewarded along with a sword in the chosen name you fought under.
I don't think u can You can get the viper school armor tho. Which is almost identical to the kaer Morhen set. You get it from the hearts of stone DLC. You can only get it after u beat the main story tho
So the Kaer Morhen Armor is used in the fortnite skin with the exception of added gloves?? I'm only looking into this because the witcher is a skin in fortnite this season AND there is alternative look coming out in 17 days, what armor would you like to see be represented?

Undvik and Hindarsfjal for me, I wish there was more of the Skellige clan armours to wear

Some Armor in witcher are great but those from witcher 2 are gorgeous.

How do you get to Kehr Moren? I’m stuck in Velen
To get to Kaer Morhen you need to complete the main quests in Velen, Novigrad, Skellige
