This one is great. I tried it at a Barrell sampling. I picked up a bottle in SC for $49.99. Killer price for a great blend of 5+ year bourbons. Cheers!
I couldn’t find it in Kentucky. Finally scored one in Novi when visiting family. Wasn’t crazy about it at first, after a couple of weeks it improved a great deal.
This video just happened to be in my RUclips feed and seeing as how this bottle is one of about 27 bottles that I choose from on my days off everything else is for the weekdays Im working and what do you know this bottle is one of those 27, now I know what Im having tonight, Thanks guys and 🥃Cheers!
I'm a big Barrell fan and I was disappointed by the neck pour. However, I love it now. I get the dickel, as what I would call a high note, but the mids and lows balance it so well.
Just went to Total Wines in DE this morning to check out their selection and almost bought this; but passed on it... because it wasn't barrel proof and I wanted to see how people felt it was first. Wish I'd grabbed it now. Also wish we could get whiskey of the months in PA... Someday they may let us get liquor by mail... wasn't so long ago we couldn't get wine by mail.
My local store has had this for a Month or so for 54 after tax, I’m currently on my 3rd bottle. Insane value bottle, guess I need to stock up a little bit now
The Barrel Foundation mash bill is Corn 73%, Rye: 23%, Malted Barley: 4%, so I'd be surprised if it reminded me of BT MB #2, which has a wheated MB, AFAIK.
I’m with you on younger versus older Dickel. I’ve enjoyed some of the BiB releases and the #12. I have had some of the single barrels at over 15 years, and there hasn’t been one I really liked. They all seem too oaky.
Love Joe and Tripp, but since Nic has done more with the blending team than just Stellum single barrels, I feel like we have gotten Batch 33, 35...maybe Vantage???
Brewzle mentioned a blantons alternative. John J bowman. What do ya'll think? I'm just interestin in good is good. Not hype overpriced. That's why i watch. You guys rock. And then the flip of that, to say, i'd pay extra for this. Was fun too. Isn't that the whole game. Bang for the buck.
John J Bowman is originally distilled at Buffalo trace and then JJ Bowman does a secondary distillation. so yeah it's a lot like BT because it basically is BT.
Great Blantons alternatives include Bardstown Origins (rye based) bourbon, Wilderness Trail (rye based) bourbon, and BM SB. Many friends have recommended Green River, but I will not say that based on my bottle ( I hear there is some variation in the batches).
I'd have to try them back to back, but my memory says Bardstown Origin white label. This Barrell is possibly more interesting given the blend, but I think Origin nails the basics just a touch better to my palate.
I heard barrel just laid off their entire team with 2 week severance and no health coverage. I hope they treat their whiskey better than their former employees
I have yet to find a bottle of Barrell that is not entirely disappointing and I'm done spending 2x rarebreed for a product that drinks like Tennessee flavored acetone.
I can get KC 12 here in So Cal rather easily. My local Target carries it at $62, which is by far, the cheapest I’ve seen it. I’m not sure how your guy can sell it at $47. Probably was mismarked but you scored with that
This was def consideration for my bottle of the year... cause i got it free... Thanks @2Ten90 .. was surprised how tasty it was...but I do not get BTrace on it. Have a Great Day Everyone 🥃🥃🥃🥃

Just picked up a bottle today and stumbled on an EH Taylor for basically retail. A good bourbon day!
Nebraska just got this last month I'm hearing. Going to find one today! And a holladay soft red wheat rickhouse proof.
Guy's I believe the Master Blender is Tripp Stimson. He's been on a couple of the Bourbon Pursuit podcast's.
Bought it at Binny’s. Very interesting profile. Fricken good.

Just cracked it tonight. It’s a great pour.
I’m waiting on mine. I ordered 2 bottles from Barrell and got free shipping!
Bought this as my first foray into bourbon. I like it.

They have some really interesting bottles. If you can get samples, I recommend giving them a try.

Strayed away from Barrell after a few not-so-great bottles. Might have to revisit them.
Just ordered two - and got free shipping! Thanks again for another value pick!

Going to look for this.
Barrell is the one distillery I rarely regret spending $80 on.
They are terrible to their employees. Find something better

Where did you get that amazing hoodie??
I want to know how to get my hands on that Barrel King you guys put in your top 3 of 2023
Join Barrel Kings Gold Club! Hasn't been a bad month yet (I joined on my own dime and I love it). Go to barrel kings website you can join on there.
That barrel has sold out since but there is a better one coming from the sounds of it.

The 13yo Dickel BIB is my favorite.
🥃 mornin yall!!

How does it compare to batch 35?
$48 at my local store
How does this differ from their Stellum line?
Where the you get the t shirt and sweatshirt?

JJB Single Barrel is great. Should cost $50, but distribution is hit or miss. Brewzle was correct.
Thanks! Eyes peeled@@TheUMIA

JJB is just as good if not better than Blantons imo I have both and did a blind and I like the JJB

Did anyone else notice the bottle of Buffalo Trace that showed up, right after it was said it tasted like Buffalo Trace?
Better - this or Bardstown Origin (similar prices)?
I'd have to try them back to back, but my memory says Bardstown Origin white label. This Barrell is possibly more interesting given the blend, but I think Origin nails the basics just a touch better to my palate.

Sometimes you need to let people go. 2 week severance is more than most people receive .
Guys, the ad was like 20% of the video.
Sorry I didn’t know you were a cop
The cheapest bottle of any Barrell product in Australia is $200 AUD!!!!
I have yet to find a bottle of Barrell that is not entirely disappointing and I'm done spending 2x rarebreed for a product that drinks like Tennessee flavored acetone.
This is the same price as rare breed and is less nutty than rare breed lol.
funny that Chris no longer drinks
Soooo.... It's great for the price and I'll keep a bottle around but you gave me higher expectations 🤷♂️
It is over $100 locally
yeehaw
it gets me drunk so it works
Barrells blender is nic christiansen i believe. Theres been amazing cheap whiskey forever. The buffalo trace comparison worries me though.
5 year for $55 or knob 12 for $47. hmmmm

Barrell is hit or miss for me. Often ery disappointing for the price point. I haven't had this one yet.
can you blind this travellers whisky to BT and ER I get no BT from it at all more canadian barton blend
If it tastes like BT, that's a big NO for me!
No thanks.

This stuff is sub par. $55 bottle that should be $25. This is bottom shelf. Very disappointing bottle
