I had the exact same issue and followed the instructions on the Bose site and it solved my no charging issue. From Bose site: Your product automatically enters Ship mode to protect its battery during extended periods without use. To enter or exit Ship mode: Entering Ship mode Note: Entering Ship mode reboots your product but does not erase settings, like language selection or Bluetooth® device memory. Connect your product to a charger On the top of your product, press and hold the Play/Pause button for at least 15 seconds While continuing to hold the Play/Pausebutton, unplug the charger Release the Play/Pause button. Exiting Ship Mode To exit ship mode, connect your product to a charger. Hope this helps and thanks for the video.

Wish I had scene this about 2 hours ago before I struggle bussed the back four screws, said grrrrr and then drilled those bad boys out. Broke the case. And now just have a non charging block of electronics with squishy buttons.
Hi, since you were able to remove the faulty battery, is there a way to bypass the battery and run the speaker through the adapter while it's plugged? Thanks!
Well that's an interesting video I was wondering if you ever found a solution for it mine seems to have died also by the way I have an old Samsung phone that has an eeprom error won't even turn on seems to be bricked they won't even attempt to repair it because it's end of life I hate it when stuff like that does I guess I'm going to have to get a new speaker but I don't have confidence in their products after this but the other brands don't have as good sound quality so it's a tough decision
It would have been smart of Bose if they allowed replaceable 10650 lithium and why eBay has lots of Bose SoundLink 415859 Bluetooth speakers listed as not working because no power, but they want like $40 for non-working ones 😂 are the working ones worth buying? eBay listing would just say, Tested, but they won't say if the result of testing was good news, it works, or bad news, it doesn't work, or it works but battery has almost no capacity for holding any charge, what's going on?

This worked!! Thanks so much. Didn't want to have to deal with replacing battery or buying a new one. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Thanks for the info. It worked but there is still a battery or other issue.
This actually resolved my issue too. The weird part is the speaker is used pretty much every day.
That did it! And thank you for the original video that lead to this,

it is possible I think you would need a 7v dc adapter just connect to + -
@@NewsonsElectronics Thank you. I'm going to try to replace the battery with an 18650 1200mah 3.7v battery. Is this okay?

Thanks for letting us know, maybe my bios will update with a new battery as well.
If it’s not changing my first thought would be the battery
