I would highly recommend for headphones a new pair of Beats that won't break the bank. You can get a pair off Amazon here amzn.to/3tR9dmj HelpingHermit is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a way for websites to earn advertising revenues by advertising and linking to Amazon
Mine stopped charging a month ago and I just thought it was a dead speaker so I left it sitting on the desk. I came across this video and tried to turn it on and it wouldn't even turn on but I held the power button down for 10 seconds anyway and now it's charging so thank you, Sir
I am 69 years old and not very techie. But I fixed my daughter's Bose speaker by following your steps when the Bose sales person told her there was no hope in repairing it. He actually talked her into purchasing a new speaker so now she has two usable Bose speakers! She and her friends think I am amazing for having fixed it. Thank for making me look good! I did give you the credit though.
For me it was the hooking it up to my laptop and updating my portable speaker on Bose site. Once this was completed the speak came on and told be it was 90% charged Hurray and thanks again for your interest in helping others.
Bose software update fixed my issue. Didn’t even realize a speaker could get a software update. I was about to throw my speaker away. Very cool.

My Bose soundlink II was dead and would not charge.I tried all your recommendations except the freezer and no luck. So I tried the 3 hour freeze and it worked! Thank you for your help.
I just want to thank you! Your video taught me such more more about my bose sound link micro than any other video. I had two speakers dead in the water for a year. I came across your video and brought them both back from the dead! I am so appreciative. Have a happy new year in 2024!
Such an excellent video! I tried: - Updating firmware (worked last time) - Resetting the speaker (didn't work this time) - Changing out adapters & micro USB cables (didn't work this time) - Blowing into the charging port (worked this time) If it wouldn't started working again, I would have tossed it into the freezer. Thanks so much for the help both times!
I didn’t realize you could update the Revolve or any Bose. Thank you for the great suggestion. My started taking a charge after the update. Just for reference, my sound link revolve is first generation; so 7 years old.
Thank you so much for this! I just missed the return date on my Bose speaker and I tried everything to resolve the issue with no luck. Your unconventional advice fixed the issue!
I can't blieve it worked!! I thought the freezer method was a prank. I had nothing else to lose, so I tried it and it worked. My Bose speaker is now charging
My Bose bluetooth speaker wouldn't start or charge. Your first option (hold the multi-function button down for 10 seconds) worked beautifully! Many thanks!! Steve in NS
Thank you sir I appreciate this video. I tried everything you said and mine actually completely died in the middle of updating so I tried the freezer thing but only for 45 minutes and it started working again
Brillliant! Thank you very much. The speaker was dead even though I didn't think it had been used enough to deplete the battery. Holding down the multi-function key restored it to live and speaker was partially charged. I did the factory reset anyway and hope this solves all issues. (And that I can find you if it happens again!)
I have updated the firmware and it start charging again. However, I went away for 3 days and left it powered and when I returned, its off and wont charge again. Mine is a Bose Revolve+ Soundlink Saw in another video how the bettery is still okay (drained but not rotten. It should be since mine uses 18650 that has a recharge of 800+ cycle) that its just the circuit is disconnecting it from charging if its fully drained.
OK, fire the Bose Support Team and hire this guy. Tried all the first steps with no luck, but after overnight in the freezer and warmed to 65 F the next day, it works again. The odd thing is that when it thawed it had a 70% charge. It's now charging, and playing, and I hope it lasts!
So mine wouldn't charge and tried everything normal...Nothing worked... until I stuck it in the freezer for 2 hours. It's now charging and all fixed. This was about as messed up as blowing in Nintendo carts back in the day 😂. Thanks for the video!
Mine wouldn't turn on. Tried different chargers and outlets. Followed the man here and plugged it into my computer, wouldn't charge, but when I went on the bose website to update it miraculously turned on when I clicked to update device. Very grateful as I thought my little buddy died. Long live Zimmer.... (I named my speaker Zimmer)
Thanks for the video but after all the steps including nuclear my Soundlink Flex does not work. It was up to date with Bose when I checked. It was working fine until a few days ago when I walked away from it with my connected phone and my wife got sick of it asking to connect so hit a few of the buttons several times until it was silent! Probably the BlueTooth one but who knows! Now the only response I can get is single red blink when I plug it in, although times 10 times. Sometimes when I hold down the power button or the three dot button it again blinks 10 times. I have left it plugged in for many hours also tried different cords and chargers. No improvement. Any other ideas?
I used the upgrade application, it worked great for.
the Bose Speaker take a very specific charging cable. while it looks very similar to other USB cables its not. i tried 5 or 6 other cable until I finally found the Original cable that came with the speaker. The most obvious difference was the cable plugs in much further than all the others i tried. now its charging again. just wanted to put this into the comments for all the ppl who lost the original cable and cant get it to charge. hopefully that helps some
This video is very informative, however, I have tried all methods including nuclear, and have had no success. Tried different cords, to the computer, to the wall, etc. I can't even get enough power to reset or update the software. Any additional ideas would be appreciated. @HelpingHermit can you help?
So sorry to communicate that I wasn't that lucky with the Nuclear option, mine is dead and nothing lights up, not charging and tried everything except laptop connect since it's asking for original cable and I'm traveling and don't have it with me.😢
Sure thing! Really appreciate your help getting this thing working again up against a deadline. utilizing it for playback to record audio for a presentation. Almost splurged for a new speaker. Thank the Universe for smart folks like you!
Why does mine light up when I load the three bags, then disappear again and then not light up again? Besides, it lights up when the connector is inserted into the speaker, I hope my comment will be noticed and I will fix my speaker. By the way we have the same speaker and color😊 I didn't drop it and it was draining then and then I tried to charge it and it started and didn't charge.

This guy's more helpful than the Bose Support team could ever be.

Not even two minutes into the video and you helped me resolve my issue. Thank you!!

My Bose Soundlink Resolve works again after following Hermit's instructions. Thank You!
I did the first option and itg now seems to be charging. Thank you very much, sir!!!
Nuclear option worked a treat! Exactly as you suggested. I had tried all the previous solutions. Great vid
Mate, you’re a legend. Followed your steps, worked a treat.

The update idea was a surprise...and it worked! Thanks for the tip!
I just plugged it into my laptop and it started charging again. Thank you.

Apparently the update thing IS working. My Bose is now blinking again when charging. Thank you Sir
You sir are amazing, thank you for taking the time to make this vid, you solved my problem
Great video, thanks! I was able to resolve my issue by brushing out the connector.
Shipping mode worked, started charging instantly. Thank you.
Thank you so much! Your very first tip reset the battery and it was able to recharge once again. I appreciate this video! 👍🏼 🙏🏻
Thank you so much I am very happy to report that the upgrade method worked for me. The first two did not. Thanks again
This just saved me 50 dollars. My revolve+ wasn’t charging and the Bose updater app on the computer fixed it!
Thanks man, it worked in my speaker that I thought was dead for a long time. Update is the only key,
I have updated the firmware and it start charging again. However, I went away for 3 days and left it powered and when I returned, its off and wont charge again.
Mine is a Bose Revolve+ Soundlink
Saw in another video how the bettery is still okay (drained but not rotten. It should be since mine uses 18650 that has a recharge of 800+ cycle) that its just the circuit is disconnecting it from charging if its fully drained.

This is great. 😂 So far the update part is doing the trick. Fingers crossed it'll be working by the morning.

Same problem here

you are my hero
Why all their software always stops charging when battery falls below certain percentage... same with sound link mini 1 .. with no way to fix
