I'm not usually one to leave comments on reviews, but this was a great comparison. I'm strongly considering selling my iPhone 13 Pro Max and moving back to Android via the S23 Ultra. At the end of the day it's about the S23 Ultra's shape, the fingerprint unlock, and the more complete integration with Google services like assistant and drive. Apple's speakers won't even play Spotify on demand, only Apple Music - I don't like the way Apple subtly pushes users to use Apple's services. I agree that their hardware is on par or even slightly superior than most Android phones, but I can't say the same about the software and user experience. I think you hit a lot of really good points in your review.
Agreed! Apple pushes you to use it's own services and devices and features and then boasts about how it all works well. Obviously, wheres the challenge in that? It's all under your control. But try to interface and work well with other manufacturers, that's where lies true challenge.
Don't sell it Buy s23 ultra as I did but trust me you'll stop using iPhone just like I dumped my iPhone 13 Pro max by the corner. S23 ultra is insane. I've not used samsung phone for 7 to 8 years but this phone is Godly
@@WHiTeGHOST69 well iPad to iPhone transition will be seemless vs the s23 and the iPad. But the Samsung tab s7 or 8 would provide the same. FaceTime is replaced by a more stable Google duo. The battery life has been improved on both the 14 and 23 from its predecessor. The 23 plus vs the 14 pro and the 14 will win. But the s23 ultra I feel far exceeds even the 14 pro max in camera quality screen quality and size. The Samsung will also open an entire new wold of customization from not just normal things like wallpaper but themes for apps and the keyboard. You can change the background for calls for each contact individually. The Dolby atmos is also a cool feature creating simulated 3d surround sound that's just amazing to hear in person. The astrophotography mode is my personal favorite. But apple isn't terrible in the dark but still worse than the pixel 7. This is the first youtuber I've seen not doctor the iPhone or Samsung photos like many claim they don't. I work with cellphones and can confirm the photos are accurate in this video for both Samsung and Apple. The iPhone 14 is a good upgrade from the 12 or 13 don't get me wrong. But the same can most definitely be said from the 22 to the 23. Iphone 14 vs the 22 series, 14 wins in all fields battery life camera ect. But the 23? The ultra outshines the 14 pro max. But the compatibility of iPad to iPhone could be more of a desire for you. And the 14 pro is just as good as the pro max other than the max has better battery life. But at 999.99 the price is lower than the 23 ultra which is 1199.99 least in the u.s. but if you want bigger more screen and new features you'll never experience on an iPhone get the 23 ultra its worth it.

I straight cut into the real things that matter to you as a smartphone user. Spending more than $1,000 for a smartphone is not an easy decision and so which phone to spend it on matters a lot.
The flexibility and freedom that Android offers is simply amazing and the way Samsung has refined the One UI, S23 series really takes the crown. I own the S23 and the experience has been really awesome! Btw, S23 Ultra really means ULTRA🎉

I was am a galaxy lifer who just switched to iPhone 14 pro max. Hugeeeee regret notifications are a disaster and lack of a back button, home button and tab button has driven me absolutely nuts, and no close all tab button, the small things galaxy users get used to, make the iPhone switch veryyyy uncomfortable ( unless you have experience with an iPhone) I am a first time iPhone user would not recommend
The biggest turn off for me in iPhone is not being able to pause when recording a video and slow data transferring. From a video content creator perspective I’m gonna go with S23 Ultra 🖤
I always love your review videos because they're unbiased and focus on important things. For me the S-pen is a big deal. The convenience of jotting down an idea on my phone anytime I have an "aha" moment is a big deal to me. Also like writing down things rather than typing them. So whenever I'm in church or somewhere taking down notes whenever I don't have a physical pen and paper is just so convenient. That's the reason I can never switch to an iPhone as a daily driver
I couldn't agree more.. Im a major s pen user. I work as a product manager and all my feedback to design team is using screen recorder along with s pen. Saves me scheduling a slack or teams call.
Yeah, I was an S22 user, but I’m not a manager, annotating on screenshots/shares never ended up being a use case for me, ended up using the pen mostly to control the camera or get some text from usually not available text fields with the button selection or smart select or to distract my nephew and niece with the colouring feature. After giving the iPhone a go, controlling the camera with quick actions on the Apple Watch ended up being more practical because I don’t need to try and hide the pen from the shot, live text solves the text capturing stuff from the text fields and kid games work as well as the colouring thing, but I learned to appreciate Apple first party apps a lot and found the day to day system UX to be smoother overall, cameras are good enough since I’m not a content creator, so ended up being more of a tomayto/tomahto thing thanks to intel unison app to handle connection with windows pc. On the wearable side, the Apple Watch still is a better experience than the Galaxy watch, Apple Pay works more consistently and watch apps are more useful. Fitness and sleep tracking are more accurate.
@Marcos fitness and sleep is more accurate..? That's not what I heard lol. Also, the watch series 8 is just as good as the galaxy watch 5. The ultra sure is better but it was released after the watch 5. I think samsung will make a pretty easy comeback this year with the galaxy watch 6

Bro this is the best review I have ever seen and could expect. No bias at all, straight to the point facts, valuing things correctly, incredible production quality. If I were to be a tech youtuber, I'd want to be like you. One thing tho.. Samsung knox has better security, it's just that iOS is more locked and doesn't allow you to get free and go on the potentially dangerous stuff. But at the same time, if you use social media platforms on either device, they'll still harvest your data so for the average user, neither would be a worse security system. The powering off with an iPhone is a major issue that I hope they fix soon tho 💀 Anyways thanks for the amazing video!!
Which is better? 22Iltra or 23Ultra in terms of camera? I like 22 Ultra more bcs it don't use ai to process photos i think like it did in 23Ultra nd make them little sometime brigter sometime warmer.
For a power user the S23 will run circles around the iPhone considering the number of features it packs along with the freedom it offers. The iPhone is for people who like a clean and minimal experience without spending a lot of effort in it, everything just works great out of the box.
Spot on! I’ve always been an iPhone user but do appreciate how superb the Ultra phones are. I’m def not a power user so the iPhone is literally a grab and go device for me and everything just works consistently well
The iPhone is for people who want to make money on social media. Samsung and Android are not optimized for many apps in which you upload videos and reels to, IG/Tiktok, They compress and downgrade the footage. RUclips has done this even recently in shorts.
@@sosa1860 There are no useless tools. There was a warning sign across the street and guess what, that 100x zoom helped to read it without having to cross the road. Also the 30x zoom is damn impressive and usable. If you want features, the iPhone isn't just losing, it gets crushed.
I fail to understand how this channel hasn't crossed a million subscribers already. Your videos are top notch! And I really mean it. Also, it's nice to see an India centric review of these phones. I mean not everyone purchases a phone just to capture videos or to send iMessages all the time. These 2 factors tip the scale in favor of the iPhone in most of the U.S. centric views in my opinion.
Congratulations for the video. I'm a video enthusiast and I've noticed in some videos in panoramic shots, right - left and left - right, some jumps and judders that I don't like. Is this a problem that persists even with the latest April updates? If there are, they can be eliminated in the next updates, in your opinion? I didn't notice that the screen recorder feature on ONE OS allows you to record the front facing camera on both landscape and portrait mode. This is an excellent feature for creating content on the fly.

Im a animator and i dont have alot of time on my pc, and i got the s23 ultra 512 gb and surprisingly the s pen is very very useful for me, its like im using a small lcd screen digital drawing pad. And the battery really depends on how you use it. iPhone battery can last longer and sometimes the s23 can also last longer, it really just depends on software. I got 2 days of battery life in a single charge, absolutely insane. I seen some battery comparison, 20 min doesnt even make any difference, they both still perform the same. S23 ultra is more superior than the iphone, and it definitely has more advantages over the iphone.
how can i transfer files from my samsung phone to macbook. First time i tried Android File Transfer and it worked marvellously. It never worked after that and always gives me error. If someone can help, please reach out.
Great comparison. And it is personal preference. I've tried both ecosystems and I do end up missing a lot of the extra features that Samsung has. What I miss about Apple is their smartwatch and that's it.
The apple watch is great indeed. I have the Apple Watch SE and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. As an Android guy, I admit that I am afraid to try the Apple watch Ultra because it might create a conflict of interest longterm lol.

Great video. Your videos are always so well done. I think the S23 Ultra is my favorite device in years. The last time I felt like I had such a complete device may have been the Note 4. I do have an iphone 13 Pro Max that I've used for the past year as well. I didn't like the notch, but I really dislike that dynamic island hole. My wife has the 14 Pro and every time she shows me content on the phone, I can't get past that eye sore. If I could, I would have a tougher decision to make between the two phones.

I've always kinda wanted to try an iPhone, but I'm so used to all the features and customizability of android that I just can't bring myself to switch. So far the S23 Ultra has been performing like a beast and although I haven't tried an iPhone, their performance is probably on par now.
Take it from me. I carry both the latest Samsung and iPhone. Don't switch to iPhone if you can't keep both. You'll be bored with the iPhone in a few days. 14pro will definitely be my last iPhone unless they come up with something new.
Switched from the 20 ultra to the 14 pro max. I will say I knew I would lose the 100x zoom and a slightly larger screen but over all I am liking the phone and learning to navigate it was easy to grasp. I do like the support and other features that I have access to through apple namely air tags.

I have both and like them both. It doesn't make theS23U shine because it is better. It is the one ui 5.1. It is superb. I still have and use a note 20 U on 5.1 and behave the exact same with a slightly speed difference. Actually, apart from the latter, you won't notice any big difference apart from some extra features added to the S23U UI. I like iOS too as it is a smooth experience more secure, and made by Apple for Apple. iOS is directed to people who want simplicity and that simply works; for those who are not in that much customization Well done. A very well and professionally presented video.
Actually he completely omitted the repairability factor of both phone which is one of the important factor for a daily user ,where samsung takes a clear win as the body parts of s23 ultra are way more cheap than iphone 14s literally 10 times cheaper like display, back glass etc
It's true and you're right I skipped it. I kind of focused on majority cases and not so much on edge cases. If I considered edge cases, the video would have added another 6 minutes. It was hard to control, but I had to. But you're absolutely right buddy.

I think it all comes down to personal choice at the end. Apple lovers are going to side with IPhone 14 no matter what, while Samsung lovers are gonna side with S23. In my personal opinion, Samsung provides more value to me as a user and I would any day choose it over Apple. The difference between Apple and Samsung has been reducing drastically over the last couple of years and I feel very soon Samsung would become a clear winner.

Wanted to try out iOS for the first time since the OG iPod touch, mostly for social reasons, so I bought the iPhone 14 pro max. I couldn't bring myself to trade in the s22 ultra and so I kept it and honestly having both is great. Throughout daily scrolling and social use I'm very happy to have the iPhone, but obviously certain camera features, productivity, etc.. are very nice to have laying around when needed. For me, having the newest iPhone as my daily, 95% use phone, and a still capable s22 ultra as a "tool" is a very pleasing mobile device experience.
i agree with most points in this video, but in my opinion samsung should win battery category, since it was literally 10 minute difference in like a 12 hour test between those 2 phones, and in real life use some youtubers even say that samsung has better battery life, so in battery life its basically a tie, but then as you said samsung can charge other devices, so it should win the battery category

thanks buddy! How quickly does your S23 ultra charge? With a 45W charger, it takes me about 60 mins to fully charge. the iPhone 14 pro max takes about 70 minutes.. Do you find that difference significant?

okay , so i landed on your video after looking for comparisons. bro first of all i must say that in the youtube tech world where there are tons of youtubers , making space and developing your own style without being crass is really commendable i mean the content is so on point and no nonsense video..totally subbed.. (hope your reach a million soon. Okay so i have been in the apple eco system for a while now..cant go back from mac to windows even because i edit myself on fcpx and i shoot alot on my phone being a documentary filmaker. have the ipad too. I never thought ill go back to android ever, but s23 ultra is very very tempting. my only concern is the footage/data transfer between mac and android (which has been a pain in the ass. People out here who have been in the apple ecosystem but bought the s23 ultra , what haver you missed the most?

Really great review! If i may ask what were the conditions for the battery test on the 14 pro? As in if it was used on wifi, cellular or both of them mixed. In my experiences mobile phones tend to drain battery more on the cellular data connection so in trying to decide on whether i should get 14 pro or pro max for the battery life.
You, sir, just earned a sub for this great video. And though the iPhone still has its ropes on me, I can’t help but be amazed on what the s23 ultra can do. Could you possibly please do an in-depth review of how secure and reliable the face unlock and fingerprint sensor of the s23 ultra in most of the real world cases? Because you see, face id just works. I mean dang how I wish samsung could do the same to their high end phones.
Samsung used to have both fingerprint reader and iris recognition up to the Note 9.. People weren't using it but it was amazing you could literally have a second device within the device with different biometric unlock each..
But.. while they removed the iris sensor . they still use the Knox security system and additional vault inside the phone.. not a full secondary phone like before but still protected either by different fingerprint or different keyword.

Thanks for your unbiased review mate. Currently, I am using a samsung s10+ and an iphone 14 pro. I am used to the flexibility of samsung phones and I feel like some features of my s10+ are far more advanced than the latest iphone. But I do prefer the reliability and longevity of the phonea in the long run. That's why I chose to buy an iphone 14 pro.
I got the S23 Ultra. Usually, as a designer, I switch between OS every two years. To keep myself informed. But this time I didn’t. I really don’t like the big pill cutout and too rounded corners of the iPhone. It costs too much screen space, more then the notch. Therefor the iPhone screen is not 6.7 in my opinion. The S23U also got features rumoured to be in the new iPhone 15, like 45W fast charging . So why wait 7 months for that. So I keep my iPhone XS Max as my second phone for another two years and my S23 Ultra will be my main phone. The Fold 3 will be sold.

Fold is quite thick... S23 Ultra'is definitely more portable
But you are still wearing the Apple Watch.

Yeah, I was an S22 user, but I’m not a manager, annotating on screenshots/shares never ended up being a use case for me, ended up using the pen mostly to control the camera or get some text from usually not available text fields with the button selection or smart select or to distract my nephew and niece with the colouring feature.
After giving the iPhone a go, controlling the camera with quick actions on the Apple Watch ended up being more practical because I don’t need to try and hide the pen from the shot, live text solves the text capturing stuff from the text fields and kid games work as well as the colouring thing, but I learned to appreciate Apple first party apps a lot and found the day to day system UX to be smoother overall, cameras are good enough since I’m not a content creator, so ended up being more of a tomayto/tomahto thing thanks to intel unison app to handle connection with windows pc.
On the wearable side, the Apple Watch still is a better experience than the Galaxy watch, Apple Pay works more consistently and watch apps are more useful. Fitness and sleep tracking are more accurate.
@Marcos fitness and sleep is more accurate..? That's not what I heard lol. Also, the watch series 8 is just as good as the galaxy watch 5. The ultra sure is better but it was released after the watch 5. I think samsung will make a pretty easy comeback this year with the galaxy watch 6

One thing tho.. Samsung knox has better security, it's just that iOS is more locked and doesn't allow you to get free and go on the potentially dangerous stuff. But at the same time, if you use social media platforms on either device, they'll still harvest your data so for the average user, neither would be a worse security system. The powering off with an iPhone is a major issue that I hope they fix soon tho 💀

For a power user the S23 will run circles around the iPhone considering the number of features it packs along with the freedom it offers. The iPhone is for people who like a clean and minimal experience without spending a lot of effort in it, everything just works great out of the box.
Spot on! I’ve always been an iPhone user but do appreciate how superb the Ultra phones are. I’m def not a power user so the iPhone is literally a grab and go device for me and everything just works consistently well
The iPhone is for people who want to make money on social media. Samsung and Android are not optimized for many apps in which you upload videos and reels to, IG/Tiktok, They compress and downgrade the footage. RUclips has done this even recently in shorts.

@@sosa1860 There are no useless tools. There was a warning sign across the street and guess what, that 100x zoom helped to read it without having to cross the road. Also the 30x zoom is damn impressive and usable. If you want features, the iPhone isn't just losing, it gets crushed.

Is this a problem that persists even with the latest April updates? If there are, they can be eliminated in the next updates, in your opinion? I didn't notice that the screen recorder feature on ONE OS allows you to record the front facing camera on both landscape and portrait mode. This is an excellent feature for creating content on the fly.

Im a animator and i dont have alot of time on my pc, and i got the s23 ultra 512 gb and surprisingly the s pen is very very useful for me, its like im using a small lcd screen digital drawing pad. And the battery really depends on how you use it. iPhone battery can last longer and sometimes the s23 can also last longer, it really just depends on software. I got 2 days of battery life in a single charge, absolutely insane. I seen some battery comparison, 20 min doesnt even make any difference, they both still perform the same. S23 ultra is more superior than the iphone, and it definitely has more advantages over the iphone.

Great comparison. And it is personal preference. I've tried both ecosystems and I do end up missing a lot of the extra features that Samsung has. What I miss about Apple is their smartwatch and that's it.
The apple watch is great indeed. I have the Apple Watch SE and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. As an Android guy, I admit that I am afraid to try the Apple watch Ultra because it might create a conflict of interest longterm lol.

Great video. Your videos are always so well done. I think the S23 Ultra is my favorite device in years. The last time I felt like I had such a complete device may have been the Note 4. I do have an iphone 13 Pro Max that I've used for the past year as well. I didn't like the notch, but I really dislike that dynamic island hole. My wife has the 14 Pro and every time she shows me content on the phone, I can't get past that eye sore. If I could, I would have a tougher decision to make between the two phones.

I've always kinda wanted to try an iPhone, but I'm so used to all the features and customizability of android that I just can't bring myself to switch. So far the S23 Ultra has been performing like a beast and although I haven't tried an iPhone, their performance is probably on par now.
Take it from me. I carry both the latest Samsung and iPhone. Don't switch to iPhone if you can't keep both. You'll be bored with the iPhone in a few days. 14pro will definitely be my last iPhone unless they come up with something new.
Switched from the 20 ultra to the 14 pro max. I will say I knew I would lose the 100x zoom and a slightly larger screen but over all I am liking the phone and learning to navigate it was easy to grasp. I do like the support and other features that I have access to through apple namely air tags.

I have both and like them both. It doesn't make theS23U shine because it is better. It is the one ui 5.1. It is superb. I still have and use a note 20 U on 5.1 and behave the exact same with a slightly speed difference. Actually, apart from the latter, you won't notice any big difference apart from some extra features added to the S23U UI. I like iOS too as it is a smooth experience more secure, and made by Apple for Apple. iOS is directed to people who want simplicity and that simply works; for those who are not in that much customization

Actually he completely omitted the repairability factor of both phone which is one of the important factor for a daily user ,where samsung takes a clear win as the body parts of s23 ultra are way more cheap than iphone 14s literally 10 times cheaper like display, back glass etc
It's true and you're right I skipped it.
I kind of focused on majority cases and not so much on edge cases. If I considered edge cases, the video would have added another 6 minutes. It was hard to control, but I had to. But you're absolutely right buddy.

I think it all comes down to personal choice at the end.
Apple lovers are going to side with IPhone 14 no matter what, while Samsung lovers are gonna side with S23.
In my personal opinion, Samsung provides more value to me as a user and I would any day choose it over Apple.
The difference between Apple and Samsung has been reducing drastically over the last couple of years and I feel very soon Samsung would become a clear winner.
I got my S10 plus in 2019 and it's working great till now.Need to update my phone soon.

Wanted to try out iOS for the first time since the OG iPod touch, mostly for social reasons, so I bought the iPhone 14 pro max. I couldn't bring myself to trade in the s22 ultra and so I kept it and honestly having both is great. Throughout daily scrolling and social use I'm very happy to have the iPhone, but obviously certain camera features, productivity, etc.. are very nice to have laying around when needed. For me, having the newest iPhone as my daily, 95% use phone, and a still capable s22 ultra as a "tool" is a very pleasing mobile device experience.

i agree with most points in this video, but in my opinion samsung should win battery category, since it was literally 10 minute difference in like a 12 hour test between those 2 phones, and in real life use some youtubers even say that samsung has better battery life, so in battery life its basically a tie, but then as you said samsung can charge other devices, so it should win the battery category
Samsung Galaxy S23U also charges faster in about 58 minutes, from 0% to 100%, unlike iPhone 14 Pro Max that charges in about 90 minutes.

thanks buddy! How quickly does your S23 ultra charge? With a 45W charger, it takes me about 60 mins to fully charge. the iPhone 14 pro max takes about 70 minutes.. Do you find that difference significant?

Okay so i have been in the apple eco system for a while now..cant go back from mac to windows even because i edit myself on fcpx and i shoot alot on my phone being a documentary filmaker. have the ipad too.
I never thought ill go back to android ever, but s23 ultra is very very tempting. my only concern is the footage/data transfer between mac and android (which has been a pain in the ass. People out here who have been in the apple ecosystem but bought the s23 ultra , what haver you missed the most?

If i may ask what were the conditions for the battery test on the 14 pro? As in if it was used on wifi, cellular or both of them mixed.
In my experiences mobile phones tend to drain battery more on the cellular data connection so in trying to decide on whether i should get 14 pro or pro max for the battery life.
You, sir, just earned a sub for this great video. And though the iPhone still has its ropes on me, I can’t help but be amazed on what the s23 ultra can do. Could you possibly please do an in-depth review of how secure and reliable the face unlock and fingerprint sensor of the s23 ultra in most of the real world cases? Because you see, face id just works. I mean dang how I wish samsung could do the same to their high end phones.
Samsung used to have both fingerprint reader and iris recognition up to the Note 9..
People weren't using it but it was amazing you could literally have a second device within the device with different biometric unlock each..
But.. while they removed the iris sensor . they still use the Knox security system and additional vault inside the phone.. not a full secondary phone like before but still protected either by different fingerprint or different keyword.

I am used to the flexibility of samsung phones and I feel like some features of my s10+ are far more advanced than the latest iphone. But I do prefer the reliability and longevity of the phonea in the long run. That's why I chose to buy an iphone 14 pro.
I got the S23 Ultra. Usually, as a designer, I switch between OS every two years. To keep myself informed. But this time I didn’t. I really don’t like the big pill cutout and too rounded corners of the iPhone. It costs too much screen space, more then the notch. Therefor the iPhone screen is not 6.7 in my opinion. The S23U also got features rumoured to be in the new iPhone 15, like 45W fast charging . So why wait 7 months for that.
So I keep my iPhone XS Max as my second phone for another two years and my S23 Ultra will be my main phone. The Fold 3 will be sold.
