If I want to sacrifice a few fps in exchange for quality, I can install an enb without any problems because the mods I have for GTA IV are compatible with an enb called Natural HD. But I believe they are compatible with many more. So if you want to see a gameplay with enb installed tell me! 🙂
Yeah while I was doing this video at some times I was thinking like "people will bring up nostalgia" hahahaha. Which is a amazing feeling by the way. (Even I prefer it when nostalgia comes in 😂). And thank you so much!
The sharpness of the modded version actually shows the graphical flaws (for ex. blurry textures), and in my opinion it makes the game look worse than the original. One thing I like about the modded version is the color scheme: it looks more natural (I usually don't like when developers put color filters, but that's just a taste thing)
Yeah I can agree on that. Graphical flaws can be seen well unfortunately :c Though I will look for a mod to "hide" or fix that blurry textures too. About the filters, I don't know why but at the time GTA IV was launched developers of the gaming industry put this type of color filters... it makes the game more depressed than it's supposed to be in my opinion. For example Resident Evil 4 has the same filters. I suppose it has something to do with the view distance or something almost similar. Natural colors make it better definitely
You can get rid of the color filter with a timecyc file replacement such as "CleanIV" there's also "Reality IV" which is more advanced and changes more stuff and it's a couple more files you replace in the game directory, there's a few others too, I've found my favorite but I forgot the name.
@@alvzcizzler Yah, the Reality IV 2.0 is the one I used on the video though you have a couple more I saw some days ago. Like Sky visuals (If I'm not mistaken)
@@DimonStahlmannB.C timecyc might be my favorite, it's really good and it's really awesome how simple timecyc file edits can change up the visuals without much performance penalty, the more edited timecyc files can affect performance a little bit but most don't
That reminds me I have a backup folder that just fix the game and have some more mechanics to make the world of GTA IV more alive. I can bring a video showing it if you want
I may do a video about the mods I have on my GTA IV! But in this video the mods I have that had impact on the graphics are Reality IV 2.0 and Project 2dfx! :D
modded is fine but the GTAs are differentiated by their colour palettes so removing them detracts from the intended aesthetic. depends on your goal i guess. if you want clarity than an enb recolour is the way to go but if you're going for a vibe than you got to leave it as it is. that said, i'm sure you can strike a middle ground where it's the same palette with enhanced colours. Reshade may help with that?
You have a point. I tried to don't change so drastically the colours of the game but still... it stills different. The main reason GTA IV had it's colours was because of the filter (which was very used on many games at the same year GTA IV was launched). I tried some reshades (just options to upgrade the bright technically) and I think there may be around some reshades that can take care of the colours too!
Oh and I rembered I have a backup folder that just fix the game and have some mechanical improvements for the world of GTA IV to make it a bit more alive too. Maybe I will try just to use project 2dfx instead using it with reality IV once project 2dfx just fix the lights technically
Shadows in general in this modded version are very weak because of Reality IV 2.0 unfortunately. So that's why there aren't any shadows from car headlights. But maybe you can change the values on one of the files of this mod so (maybe corona file Idk) and than you'll be able to have them. But I don't really know that kinda of stuff to be sure

Yes. The process to install the mods inside the GTA IV's folder it's the same as the original. The only thing that changes is the directory where you installed the GTA IV's folder

I would prefer the original over modded. It got the 'nostalgia' feels to it but modded aren't that bad after all. Great video. 👌

i still like the look of the original in ways, i guess the modded is too harsh for some graphical changes
As if something was lost in the modified version. Too sterile picture. Maybe need more work with ambient occlusion (SSAO)
You meant MXAO? That's a good idea. Though I can use MXAO from Reshade or just use the ambient occlusion my nvidea geforce has
