GTA IV is very masterpiece, I really loved to walk around and take the train around the city. There're too many tiny details that make this city come to life.
If they would combine all the details and features of 4 including the vehicle behavior and physics with water, gta 5 woukd have been a great game. I only hope 6 will.
@@brandoncaldwell95 They did turn out well with RDR2 right and rockstar is a company that sticks to perfection instead of overestimated promises like cyberpunk 2077. So I think that they have made a sweet game that us gamers would love. Hopefully they have made a compelling story this time because the story of V has no sense at all apart from the action sequences.
Until you see the Stat for pedestrians killed. It always makes me laugh how the gta stories all have the well to do criminal story, meanwhile I'm running around killing civilians to make a grand stealing their car.
@@mattwallace2221 killing pedestrians is always down to the player. Even during the story there are numerous times in which you can execute or spare someone the mission has sent you to kill. Killing in general however is unavoidable, it is gta after all and you are a criminal killing other criminals for other criminals.

Required way more resources where back then people were still on Windows XP with inferior hardware, and GTA San Andreas & Vice City (even Liberty) were still dominating all Internet Cafes & personal computers alike! Almost all my friends were on San Andreas and didn't care for IV because it was too laggy back then, and GTA SA was way too good for them to just forget!

Just describing it is one thing, but setting up the scenes and capturing everything so that it's enjoyable looks effortless here but surely takes quite a bit of work. The fact you can still "fly" a helicopter after you loose its tail is a fun thing to experiment with as i did it a ton as a kid and its definitely a struggle
I spent hours and hours playing this online, even the audio detail was amazing with headphones - I miss this game so much, the story was 10/10 and the overall design and gritty looks that Liberty City deserves just added and added to it being a gem
I like how the cops spawning didn’t make every pedestrian and other car despawn. And that they actually use tactics against you like snipers. I’ve also see road strips I think. Meanwhile, in GTAV, I stab a guy in the desert, 2 stars, and it doesn’t even get intense, just tediously annoying
it's also generic, the spawning system use same shared models vs gta 4 each area on the map has different police presence, some have low police presence, some high or even none unless your wanted, in which game will increase cop count vs gta 5 all areas use same cop count and response times are random globally, regular cops don't differ much apart from where they from and armor they get above 3+ stars, local swats are nice touch but are just so generic and dull looking i mistake them as fib or noose, like what are they suppose to be? why are they driving sheriff suv? why do some missions refer them as NOOSE and in some as LSPD Tactical Teams?? And if they we're suppose to be FIB, the fib variant is mission only. Police Snipers are also non-existant in freeroam, only in missions like Blitz Play. I think GTA 6 should have some variants for swat models, so it's easier to tell which faction they belong (Local, NOOSE, FIB)
In GTA5 the cops basically juat spawn on you in a radius, so if you're on foot they'll just spawn in front of you. I did testing with invincibility and its just braindead
when I get into police chases in IV, 99 percent of the time it's not the cops that kill me, but the NPC drivers that get in my way, send me flying off my NRG-9000 and killing me.
6:06 I do this all the time! It's wild how each fight is a bit different, unlike in GTA V. In all my dozens of hours of pitting NPCs against one another, I've found that the black woman wearing the ball cap and crop top is the absolute best NPC fighter in the game. She fights in the same style as the stronger ones you mentioned and never loses to other NPCs.
i always loved the fighting in this game. the knockouts were so cool with the rag doll effect. also knowing bas rutten did the mocap you can really tell it is him throwing kicks,punches and headbutts .
I admired your finding little details in GTA IV and the Mod showcase videos, which made me motivated to mod GTA IV as a whole, especially the Biker Experience video. In which I am currently working on mods in TLAD. Since before your Biker Experience video, there were no mods for EFLC. Honestly, TLAD and TBoGT deserved to have a more mod showcase of it own.

The cut content of snow and mysterious hospital should've been in the game. Snow fits the game so well with its dark gritty tone that should've been part of the hub world and the depressive look of snow makes the game better, the mysterious hospital should've been included as well as another place to be respawn and it would've been better to expand the game as it has a lot of interiors unlike GTA V.

The one about the changing camera angle while aiming a gun was one I felt like I was the only person who knew about it. Noone ever knows that. A lot of people stopped playing the game because the super close camera angle while aiming guns annoyed them. And I told them about it and their minds were blown
I laughed when the NPC drove into his garage door. Also, look at the car before it. The way the car suspension moves as it goes up the driveway and bounces back down is hyper realistic to me. And then the NPC before that turns off the street and almost runs someone down. Then the pedestrian starts acting up. It's brilliant.
I still play GTA 4 because for me is one of the best GTA games ever,the only thing I still don't understand is why Rockstar removed the multiplayer mode,I had so much fun playing online with my friends. Also big thanks to you Rob for making these videos about GTA 4. Cheers.

Like I said in the old video snow would probably happen at some point after the story ends due to fact the game takes place during October. A very festive reward for beating a gritty and brutal storyline.

The snow? R*'s Bully had a portion of the story with snow. You could pick up snowballs and throw them at other students. If you dressed jimmy in only his underwear he would shake and lose HP constantly. That game was 2006 IIRC RDR2 has a snowy region too but it's constantly cold there Funny how the only 4 games that (were supposed) to have it are from take2 and 3 of them are from R*

GTA IV was my favourite GTA, coming from a similar city in real life, I always felt right at home all over GTA IV, I played it for years after the story just to hang out with friends, play pool and cruise around. I’d happily live in 2008 Liberty City if given the choice, perfect amount of technology and the city always seemed big enough. Like everyone else, I got used to life in Los Santos since V came out, but I could happily go right back to 2008 Liberty City and feel right at home.
Just started a proper play through of this game as an adult. It’s absolutely fantastic. The story is so good and the game has so many small mechanics and physics that absolutely put GTA V to shame. The graphics even hold up quite well on PC.

This was when gta was at its pinncale it knew what it wanted to be and the designers put so much detail and dedication into it. Plus the euphoria wasnt messed with, gave the devs more time to work on even more details. Masterpiece. Gta5 is what happens when you get lazy.
I played thus game again the other week and even though the graphics aren't the best, the detail to the damage on cars when crashing and the individual dents blew me away and impressed me so much as we don't actually have anything that can do this today. The physics of the cars is so much more fun also and the actual amount of detail in the liberty city streets was also something in a league of its own even still to this day. No other game is as impressive as gta iv is
Great video! I’ve been doing a play through of the game again on steam deck and the game is as good as I remember. Even just loving spending downtime walking a few blocks and interacting with the world they made

NPCs in GTA IV are capable of hailing taxis and have voice acted lines too.
I found this out by playing as NPCs using the Zolika trainer.

Based on things being said on the radio and the trees being golden, the game takes place in autumn, so it makes sense there's no snow.

The snow? R*'s Bully had a portion of the story with snow. You could pick up snowballs and throw them at other students. If you dressed jimmy in only his underwear he would shake and lose HP constantly. That game was 2006 IIRC
RDR2 has a snowy region too but it's constantly cold there

GTA IV was my favourite GTA, coming from a similar city in real life, I always felt right at home all over GTA IV, I played it for years after the story just to hang out with friends, play pool and cruise around.
I’d happily live in 2008 Liberty City if given the choice, perfect amount of technology and the city always seemed big enough. Like everyone else, I got used to life in Los Santos since V came out, but I could happily go right back to 2008 Liberty City and feel right at home.
Just started a proper play through of this game as an adult. It’s absolutely fantastic. The story is so good and the game has so many small mechanics and physics that absolutely put GTA V to shame. The graphics even hold up quite well on PC.

This was when gta was at its pinncale it knew what it wanted to be and the designers put so much detail and dedication into it. Plus the euphoria wasnt messed with, gave the devs more time to work on even more details. Masterpiece. Gta5 is what happens when you get lazy.

I played thus game again the other week and even though the graphics aren't the best, the detail to the damage on cars when crashing and the individual dents blew me away and impressed me so much as we don't actually have anything that can do this today. The physics of the cars is so much more fun also and the actual amount of detail in the liberty city streets was also something in a league of its own even still to this day. No other game is as impressive as gta iv is
