honestly i prefer the loading screens taking longer, i just love that song. the whole build-up of it with the rockstar's logos showing up. it's so nostalgic.
I honestly think that people who believe this game is clunky are just too used to gta 5 and red dead 2. I don't even find San Andreas clunky. Play Vice City and gta 3 then we can talk about clunky games...
It also depends on each person though, you know? Especially with how modernized games are becoming, especially FPS games and all that, it's not terrible to consider that maybe there's a few quirks with this game. And so having mods that can perfect those little and tiny aspects a lot more makes a big difference in the world. To some people, they simply don't care and like the game for the way it is - which I respect that :)
Look I love GTA4 BUT even San Andreas was more responsive and controlled better than 4. I personally think SA is the best controlling game only matched by 5. Gta 4 feels a bit clunky but that’s excused with a new engine. Weirdly RDR2 is their most clinkiest game imho.
Vice City and 3 still really responsive and fun to play with keyboard and mouse is just than u first need to fix them with 60 fps patchs silentpatch etc because they run horrible in modern hardward
I wouldn’t say clunky. In my experience i adapted to gta iv’a movement quickly when i first got it. I’d say the movement just has more weight compared to the others
I honestly didn’t know my bike sliding out was a frame rate issue Edit:that death music was just amazing. I love the Soviet connection song and the vibe it and gta iv gives
Fr. Playing GTA 5 on my PC at 1080p mostly max settings I get about 80fps average. I get the exact same framerate with the same settings in 4. That should say something. The fact I'm getting the same performance at the same settings on 2 games that are so far apart graphically and 5 years apart
Man, the bikes sliding out all the time is the one thing I really dislike about GTA 4, I had no idea it was a framerate thing though. It got so annoying that in the mission Ruff Rider, I memorised Jayvon's route, left the sports bike where it was, stole a Minivan, intercepted him and knocked him off using that! Gotta say that method was pretty effective though, bigger cars make real good weapons
Hahaha, that is smart 🤣🤣🤣 But yes! That whole 'bike sliding' problem is because of the framerate being so high! Hope you give another playthrough a try with these mods :)
This is one of the better gta 4 mod videos I have seen. All these fixes manage to make gta 4 even more immersive and the game is already very good in that regard. Probably going to try these on my next playthrough of this game.
I have no idea why people say this, I think not only gta 5 but all of the gta games have better driving than in 4, it just feels like the roads are made of ice with bald tires lmao

It’s because they saw that it might’ve been challenging to some players, which surprised many people considering how much harder GTA SA and VC was.

Try out the revamped IV weapons mod. It’s the best weapon overhaul mod out there. Faster fire rates and higher damage adds a whole new element to shootouts in this game. Maybe a specifically weapon/combat focused video can showcase this new mod.

It’s such an awesome mod especially since you don’t have to modify the “population groups” file (which sets vehicles that drives in certain boroughs, or throughout the city) 😌 I’m glad you’re having fun though! How many cars have you tried? Thanks for the support my friend ❤️

What blows my mind was that I recently played the whole story for gta 4 on my ps3 and I was extremely confused from seeing all the bugs and stuff on here but then I realized this is for pc
Oh yeah, the PS3 version is beautiful, besides the fact that it's a little blurry at times. Thankfully, it doesn't sustain the issues that the PC version has hahahaha
ive never modded a gta before especialy GTA IV ...is it possible to show us in a quick video with all the mods you showed us on how to install them ???
This is an incredible video. I was just missing the tales of that crazy Eastern European bastard and was hoping to find a nice list of mods to help me modernize the game cause my god the raw game just looks rough these days.
People don't even know that gta4 was massively downgraded before release because testers thought it was too advanced for gamers and that it would overwhelm them because they weren't acclimated. Features such as a ufc 4 style melee system got heavily downgraded. It originally had moving motorcycle handle bars, higher resolution and higher definition textures, a lot more too. It also potentially had even better motorcycle physics, skateboarding, and traffic laws. Sad that it got downgraded. All because some game tester was worried it would overwhelm gamers. Ugh. Lame.
This is all very interesting information... how did you come across it? I'm awfully surprised that they took their testers' word... because imagine how much better this game would've been with all those advancements in mind :)
zolika patch truly is a one fix all mod on this game. that and fusion fix really fixed the pc version. when i first bought this game on pc , i was shocked, i have good memory and remember that game being the best looking open world or any game until gta 5 came out and i still think gta 4 looks better than gta v but obviously gta v looks better.
That would be awesome if you're saying that someone should make this all into one mod by itself. But if you're saying that someone should mix all of these mods into one archive, then that would go against the publishers/authors of the mod - since each mod is published separately.
Yeah, the map mod is pretty good!! 😌 As far as the police thing, you can always toggle the option if you so wish. The mod is really open to a lot of tweaks and adjustments, so the customization is endless. In my eyes, police would stop a certain manhunt after a certain number of hours/period of time considering it takes resources and time away from other events. That’s why I find it to be realistic.
@NotAJ Btw, I've uploaded updated version of this mobile phone. It will be available on GTAInside in ~12 hours. But I think by the time you read this it will already be approved
Hahahaha I still can't believe you happened to stumble upon this video 😂 Truly an honor, by the way! But yeah hahaha, you know how RUclips can be 😰 Love your mods, regardless, thanks for your hard work boss! ❤
I loved this game but the three things that always drove me insane were: 1. the earned money was pretty much pointless 2. Cars disappeared the only time you could keep one was in the bay outside apartments but then the car normally disappeared when you used it 3. Inability to customise cars how we wanted
I always thought the same thing, too. I never realized until a couple of years back that it was due to high FPS. But now it's fixed with ZolikaPatch :)
Mate this was a fanastic video! For once it's a mod showcase doesnt doesnt add stupidly unrealistic crap to the game with a shit graphics mod, Great job!
Another mod that someone that should make is killing enemies easily if they're in a car because it can be more easier to destroy any enemies if they're not in a vehicle or running away as fast because they should walk slow
I'm not sure if I quite get what you're saying about the first part, but I do see what you're saying towards the end. That's actually what the beauty is about the 'Beaten & Bruised' mod is that enemies do portray the severity of their injuries depending on how much damage they've taken from the player (or other NPCs). If the injuries are minor, then the NPC's movement will be slowed down. If the injuries are substantial enough, then the NPCs can be rendered immobile. It's such a great mod that intensifies the immersion exponentially for the player :)
Yeah, I personally like the driving in the game, too. It’s not for everyone, though. I hope they do remaster the game at some point. But for now, we have modders to thank for that :)
Thank you! I’m glad that you find these assortment of mods to be optimal for your experience! To answer your question, it kind of depends. Do you plan to stick to the Complete Edition or move forward to the downgraded editions? If you plan to downgrade, then all of these mods will work with a different version of FusionFix. Now, if you plan to keep yourself on the Complete Edition, then only some of these mods will work on GTA IV: The Complete Edition (latest update) - that being these ones: - DXVK - Improved Animations Pack - Bullet Penetration - Beaten & Bruised - Sprint in Interiors - Customizable Niko - Another One Map & Radar Mod - Whiz Wireless Cellphone To get the other ones that will work properly (Responsive Plus, Liberty Tweaks, ZolikaPatch, GTA IV Extra Options, Better Wardrobes, No Cursor Escape, and Simple Traffic Loader), you will need to downgrade GTA IV. I have a simple tutorial specifically for downgrading the game, so feel free to check it out: ruclips.net/video/2YnhC7gSUD8/видео.htmlsi=DyUIjQ63ODXSbldw
Imagine Zolika being better than Rockstar themselves xD BTW: I used DXVK, disabled G-Sync on my monitor. Used MSI Afterburner for in-game FPS limiting (30FPS for the chopper climbing). In NVIDIA Ctrl Panel I set the FPS to 80FPS permanently (This keeps the bikes smooth enough to not annoy you. Sometimes still oversteer happens). No patch needed.
@@NotAJ It really is astonishing how these guys have so much passion for these games. It just makes the gaming world more valuable, exciting and enjoyable!
Thank you so much for the kind words! Since most of the mods I use require downgrading (such as ENBs for example), ZolikaPatch works best for me. It’s really a matter of preference and what suits you the most :)

I never realized the framerates could affect bike handling. Guess I'm used to drift the bike via handbrake when cutting through city traffics because if how slippery the NRG can be.
Yep, that would be correct. The bike handling/sliding is unfortunately flawed because of the framerate problem. Thankfully, ZolikaPatch has a full fix for it :)
I agree, the game is good even standalone! But these mods don't take forever to install, they're very easy. Some are a tad' tedious where you'll have to use OpenIV or make sure you're not messing up anything. But if it helps to know that this list of mods are the easiest to install compared to some of the other lists I have lol
@notaj your tutorial video helped me downgrade to 1.07. anyone wanting to do this I recommend doing it on a 2nd PC just to be safe / also have a USB drive to back up your GTA saves and game. It took me the whole day to figure it out and learn some words and the process. I also have the steam complete edition, I have the mod menu and everything works
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear that the tutorial videos are helping you out here. I always recommend making backups where necessary. Not to mention, modding GTA is a whole different ballgame as opposed to other games, so definitely a few terms will pop here and there haha :)
GTA 5’s driving has the right mix of realism and video-gamey liberties taken. Realism shouldn’t be the sole goal of a GTA game. In gta 5 if you’re a good enough driver you can just hold down R2 and handbrake through all the turns and not crash
@@NotAJ I am actually referring to both your video and my personal experience trying out DXVK. I also noticed the same issue when swapping between Vulkan and DirectX renderers on the PCSX2 emulator. On directx the colors were more pronounced, so there's definitely something going on there.

More than likely, yes! Maybe not soon but definitely a plan for the future :)
I'm having a bit of trouble with simple traffic loader whilst trying to exceed the limit of the vehicles (apparently 20) been able to get it working way beyond that but went a little too greedy on it haha.
What a mod list right there man!!!
It’s such an awesome mod especially since you don’t have to modify the “population groups” file (which sets vehicles that drives in certain boroughs, or throughout the city) 😌 I’m glad you’re having fun though! How many cars have you tried? Thanks for the support my friend ❤️
@@NotAJ 45 to 50 some areas some had to maintain the supposed default 20 judging from the way the ini was compiled
But like i said i kinda need help to figure it out. Would be good to have someone that managed to get em all.
The game spruced up to shit when I spawned the whole list of boats.
Wow, that's incredible to say the least lol 😄 And yeah, of course! Here's what I can recommend to you as far as trying to get help on it. You can join the mod developer's Discord (via. discord.gg/NmZvCtdfAc) and they can try and help you out with it, and/or you can join my Discord and post your configuration file for someone to take a look at.
Thanks for making this video 👏🏻🤗
Thank you for the kind words, my friend! ❤️
@@NotAJ 💚
Great video, awesome compilation of mods, GTA modding community is literally one of the best for sure :)
Thank you so much! Yeah, the GTA modding community is amazing! :)
ive never modded a gta before especialy GTA IV ...is it possible to show us in a quick video with all the mods you showed us on how to install them ???
I have plans on making a small tutorial video showing how to install each and every one of them!
This is an incredible video. I was just missing the tales of that crazy Eastern European bastard and was hoping to find a nice list of mods to help me modernize the game cause my god the raw game just looks rough these days.
Thank you so much! ❤️ Yes, absolutely! Are you having a good time with these mods?
dude awesome thankyou!
Of course!
At this point, zolika should be a gta dev, dude is insane
Zolika1351 is truthfully the GOAT 🐐
Awesome video mister AJ 😎
Thank you very much, Mister Clonk :)
bro where were you while i play the game😔. i was frustrated with the dx9 things.. the optimization is biggest problem of this masterpiece
I wish I was here sooner :( Optimization is a huge problem for the game, my friend.
@@NotAJ before next time, i'll be here. cheers mate
Im just waiting for ICE4 to be 100% done. Hoping for a patch 7/8 version for EFLC.
iCEnhancer 4 is coming along real nicely 👌
18:28 aww I felt a tinge of feeling bad, that kinda looks real compared to how it was growing up playing this.
Right? It looks so realistic 🤌
GTA Peaked with GTA 4, sadly like all other companies that get to big all that matters eventually is the stakeholders return of investment.
So true, honestly.
Hey will you make a video about gta vice city RAGE™?
uphold this
I’ve never heard of it before, and I just checked it out! Looks superb 😍 I might make a video on it!
i take that as yes
@@NotAJ can you improve it with mods too?
Like I said, I might - especially since there's quite a few videos on it already.
zolika patch truly is a one fix all mod on this game.
that and fusion fix really fixed the pc version.
when i first bought this game on pc , i was shocked, i have good memory and remember that game being the best looking open world or any game until gta 5 came out and i still think gta 4 looks better than gta v but obviously gta v looks better.
Agreed! :)
Can someone make a mod that implements all of this in one mod
That would be awesome if you're saying that someone should make this all into one mod by itself. But if you're saying that someone should mix all of these mods into one archive, then that would go against the publishers/authors of the mod - since each mod is published separately.
LOL I thought motorcycles were just jacked, this makes more sense now
Hahaha yeah! It's all because of the game having a massive issue with it being at high FPS 😂
Hiding from the police wouldn't be that easy in real life so it was the first L for this mod but the map was 🔥 GTA 6 need that
Yeah, the map mod is pretty good!! 😌
As far as the police thing, you can always toggle the option if you so wish. The mod is really open to a lot of tweaks and adjustments, so the customization is endless. In my eyes, police would stop a certain manhunt after a certain number of hours/period of time considering it takes resources and time away from other events. That’s why I find it to be realistic.
Nice list. Gonna try it on my next GTAIV run. The QTE in the final helicopter mission really bugs me off.
Thank you, my friend! Yeah, it’s absolutely worth giving it another go with these mods. The helicopter and bike bug infuriated me the most 😂
The most iconic gta 4 i know for is the soundtrack on the loading screen idk what is about it but if i hear that boom gta4
The loading screen is legendary ❤️ No doubt about it
please, what is the name of this song? 0:14
Got you, fam. Patrick Patrikios - Cover :)
This mod list is so bad ass, that I'll be getting GTA4 on my PC as soon as I get home tomorrow.
Awesomeee! Did you end up getting the game with these mods? :)
@@NotAJ Not yet, but it’s on the list! Been busy with Mac Pro upgrades, and a windows XP retro gamer. 🤣
Wowww hahahaha that sounds like fun! I know a couple friends who enjoy the retro stuff :)
Saints Row 2 feels a lot better than GTA IV to play.
Saints Row 2 was an AMAZING game.
That death music works so well honestly better then the one in GTA V
I love the death music for IV- I wish they kept it in originally.
gta 4 my first love now I can play you, and it will feel better than when I played you as a kid back on xbox
man more people need to come back and mod this game :( has lots of potential
They are 😁 I feel like GTA IV finally has a chance to become great with the modding community that it has
22:54 I laughed how you had to change my nickname, haha
@NotAJ Btw, I've uploaded updated version of this mobile phone. It will be available on GTAInside in ~12 hours. But I think by the time you read this it will already be approved
Hahahaha I still can't believe you happened to stumble upon this video 😂 Truly an honor, by the way! But yeah hahaha, you know how RUclips can be 😰 Love your mods, regardless, thanks for your hard work boss! ❤
Doesn't live up to the modern standards of gaming, yet it holds up better than 5
That’s not what I meant lol I meant in terms of gameplay, my friend. Input lag and issues with exceeded frame rates can definitely be modernized.
20:48 This is so good. I wish the mini map is much bigger, tho just like gta 5
Zolika1351 actually has a GTA 5 radar map mod out there that's pretty good! It's worth getting. Just look up "GTA 5 style radar by Zolika1351" :)
@@NotAJthanks bro the problem is in the original i got some hard time looking at the mini map...
I like this channel. Am subscribing
Thank you my friend, and welcome to my channel! ❤️
I loved this game but the three things that always drove me insane were:
1. the earned money was pretty much pointless
2. Cars disappeared the only time you could keep one was in the bay outside apartments but then the car normally disappeared when you used it
3. Inability to customise cars how we wanted
You can fix 2 and 3 with a trainer
5:20, Rockstar must bring back the death music. It would’ve been so iconic.
For real :)
fun fact if you crouch in vanilla gta4 and reaload an assault rifle he will actually change mags
That is actually true ☝️
Es increíble como una buena selección de Mods hacen que mi juego favorito luzca y se sienta como una nueva experiencia. Mis felicitaciones! Y gracias
I agree with you! Thank you for the kind words! I hope you enjoy these mods :)
I used to think , that the game was like that then i realised, when I saw the ps port 😂.
GTA IV had so much more GTA-Feeling whilke playing than GTA V. And we´re talking about the best Theme and for me by far the best Story..!
Agreed! It was very realistic, which is what probably made it feel that way :)
I remember that car stuttering bug from back in the day... I thought my computer just sucked for the game =/
Thank you so much, my friend! I appreciate the kind words!
I downloaded this game again it's still got best driveing style out of all gta games
Needs to be remastered asap
Yeah, I personally like the driving in the game, too. It’s not for everyone, though. I hope they do remaster the game at some point. But for now, we have modders to thank for that :)
such a good video and channel, thank you man
Thank you so much for the kind words! I appreciate it :)
3:19 Luiz Lopez looks just like Sharp from the NoJimper podcast on this menu screen 😂
“SHARP TANK!” 😂 Hahahahaha
It's actually incredible how insanely broken the PC version was
Isn't it crazy? So much that went wrong with this game, but modders do everything they can to alleviate it :)
This looks so good, really nice optimization. Question is, is it better than fusion fix that i had done on my complete edition?
Thank you! I’m glad that you find these assortment of mods to be optimal for your experience! To answer your question, it kind of depends. Do you plan to stick to the Complete Edition or move forward to the downgraded editions? If you plan to downgrade, then all of these mods will work with a different version of FusionFix. Now, if you plan to keep yourself on the Complete Edition, then only some of these mods will work on GTA IV: The Complete Edition (latest update) - that being these ones:
- DXVK
- Improved Animations Pack
- Bullet Penetration
- Beaten & Bruised
- Sprint in Interiors
- Customizable Niko
- Another One Map & Radar Mod
- Whiz Wireless Cellphone
To get the other ones that will work properly (Responsive Plus, Liberty Tweaks, ZolikaPatch, GTA IV Extra Options, Better Wardrobes, No Cursor Escape, and Simple Traffic Loader), you will need to downgrade GTA IV. I have a simple tutorial specifically for downgrading the game, so feel free to check it out: ruclips.net/video/2YnhC7gSUD8/видео.htmlsi=DyUIjQ63ODXSbldw
I didn't know the PC port was bad, I was gonna buy it!
You can still buy it but you might need to mod it a bit
@@ZombieGangster yeah, it would've been a bad experience if I hadn't run into this video
I’m glad you were able to see this and maybe was able to mod your game to avoid these terrible problems with the port!
So many great mods! Thank you for featuring Sprint in Interiors. How cool! Love these gta 4 videos aj :)
It’s a pleasure to feature any mod of yours, my friend! 😄 THANK YOU for the love and support!
wow, cool stuff dude.... I love GTA 4
Thank you so much! Yeah, me too! What a great game :)
Imagine Zolika being better than Rockstar themselves xD
BTW: I used DXVK, disabled G-Sync on my monitor.
Zolika and a lot of modders are the sole reason why GTA IV has advanced even more in its life span 👌 Incredible, isn’t it?
@@NotAJ It really is astonishing how these guys have so much passion for these games. It just makes the gaming world more valuable, exciting and enjoyable!
Agreed! ☝️
So should i use these mods or the other must have mods from your other video?
When you say "must have mods", are you talking about the "Top 5 Mods to Make GTA 4 Look Better" video? You can blend them both together :)
Great video! Have you used Fusion Fix mod? I’ll have to look into the differences between Fusion Fix and Zolika Patch.
Thank you so much for the kind words! Since most of the mods I use require downgrading (such as ENBs for example), ZolikaPatch works best for me. It’s really a matter of preference and what suits you the most :)
'minor injuries such as a shot to the abdomen" lol xDDD
I might’ve downplayed the injuries there, I’ll admit 😂😂😂
Just a heads up, the link for "No Cursor Escape" mod is wrong.
Overall, great video. Just bought GTA 4 yesterday and wanted to search for some mods to refine the gameplay, and this video was perfect for it.
Thank you for the heads up on that, I just fixed the link!
Also, thanks for the kind words ❤ I hope that you will enjoy your experiences with these mods!
Oh My god that mod is fire bro 😱
Haha, which one? Glad you enjoyed the video :)
@@NotAJ I enjoy a helicopter and and gun mods better I enjoy mod NOOSE Maverick just released noose pack mod on gta 4 like I do like mods I played gta 3 aircraft mod and Vice City and San Andreas and Liberty City Stories also have mods lcs on pc and real lcs and vcs On ps2 and psp I play something better and gta 4 and gta 5 are good to me my dude mod is very nice bro I love that but A where is my suggest my dude i was waiting to make walk through to play max payne you know how to play and beat this game to complete tha chapter Mission just let me know if you need whatever you like ok let me know but by the way I enjoy something better a Mod you had on video you posted like you had swift and buzzard mod also used for gta 4 better
Driving is more fun and immersive on controller and gunfights are challenging when you arent instantly clicking heads
I totally have to agree. That’s what makes this game phenomenal.
This game is so good even without any mods. Also do mods take forever to install or do I simply drag and drop into directory ?
Damn I am sold with the first mod.
Hahaha, that’s what I said when I first saw it ❤️
5:24 that’s 🔥
FRRRR
Bill Burr needs to come back as a voice in GTA6 🙏😏
Yessss
Very informative video. Thank you
Thank you for the kind words, my friend. I'm happy that you found this video to be informative :)
Bikes sliding out like that is not a frame rate issue, it’s real life physics. Gamers will want realism and also will not want realism.
GTA 5’s driving has the right mix of realism and video-gamey liberties taken. Realism shouldn’t be the sole goal of a GTA game.
In gta 5 if you’re a good enough driver you can just hold down R2 and handbrake through all the turns and not crash
The performance improvement on DXVK is really nice, but it seems to me that it crushes the colors a bit compared to Directx, which I find a turnoff.
If you’re talking about the colors in my video, that’s not DXVK’s doing. That’s the visual filters that come with Responsive Plus, which are optional.
@@NotAJ I am actually referring to both your video and my personal experience trying out DXVK. I also noticed the same issue when swapping between Vulkan and DirectX renderers on the PCSX2 emulator. On directx the colors were more pronounced, so there's definitely something going on there.
I see, good explanation - I will (too) have to discover this in my GTA 4 copy and see what’s going on there.
I always wanted to mod GTA 4 because I just started a new gameplay and I wanted to play the game with better graphics and improved mods, which you perfectly presented in this video.
But the issue is that when I started to download these mods and install them I got stuck really bad into the process, is really complicated. I have no idea how to do it :(
I may be having a video cooking up between this month or next month that will show you how to do it, but there are read me files included in the mod download files which should be able to help you. I would highly recommend that you look at those and see if they help :)
