I just finished making this hat for my sister in law. However, since she didn't have the money to make it out of leather, I made it out of 3mm thick felt... it looks just as cool !
Pliers to pull the needle through thick spots. Omg, that's so reasonable, I can't believe this is the first time I've seen it/never thought of that. My hands thank you. Really beautiful work here!
I made this this past weekend. Very easy to follow. I had much thinner 3oz leather and added some 18g wire in the brim to stiffen it up. It came out beautifully. I added a hat band and now I can hide my phone, wallet and car keys without them being visible. This will be perfect for ren faires. Thanks so much for the wonderful pattern on Esty and the video!
The little metal brackets, not sure what they are called- but the extra circle of leather between them and the hat- is this functional or purely an aesthetic choice? Does the extra layer of leather help secure the decorative metal brackets? Very impressive. You make it look really easy.
Thank you Tony!! It looks like you had a huge amount of fun with this project! Really enjoyed the music! Aren't you missing a patch over an eye and a parrot on the shoulder?? Oh and a blade of some sort clenched between the teeth......
Gracias. Un placer ver tus vídeos.
Very nice pattern and video! I was just finishing cutting and taping the papers together :) I thought there would be an aluminum wire in that hat like the top hat, but stitching makes it just perfect too!!
i think its due to the tricorn hat design the flesh side is on the inside so it shows when bent upwards. Not sure if the inside grain in waterproof though so might need to do a double layer so it doesnt rot
I bought this pattern but it won't print correct size on USA letter size paper 8.5" x 11". I cannot seem to adjust the 1" margins in my print screen. Selecting fit to page makes the block small 2.5/16" small. Help?
How can I get this pattern? How do I find the leather I would need to make this. I want to try and make this for a friend. Also looking for a Musketeers hat patter?
Hello Tony, I've purchased many of your patterns and I love them. I have one recurring issue that I've been able to work around on all the previous patterns but this one is different because it's round. The issue is that the top of every page is missing. That is, the dotted lines are cut off. The first thing that shows up is just a very small piece of the scissor handle. I do set my printer setting for "actual size." I've also tried to get into the margin settings to try to "open up" the printing area, but I've had no success with that. I'm using Adobe Acrobat to open and print. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Unfortunately some home printers will cut off the bottom or the top of the page no matter what you do. So i found a solution and made a quick tutorial on how to go around this problem ruclips.net/video/QHDrVBeJEM0/видео.html have a look and let me know if you need any more help
I wonder if it's possible to take the crown portion of this hat and add a smaller brim to make a simplified Bowler Hat. I know that Tony already has a Bowler Hat pattern but that stitch count though....*shudders*
Мне кажется что треуголка малость не правильно сделана так загибали для того чтоб во время шторма вода стекала в определенном направлении, и не мешала обзору

An excellent project, Tony! Moreover, the straightforward, no nonsense way you presented it gave it a great focus on the work itself. Bravo!
Hi, Tubby! You're doing great so far, welcome to the team.
Another excellent tutorial, and congratulations on the music, an easy style to listen and work to! Have a great vacation!
Beautiful! Also, hello Tubby! I look forward to seeing him at at work

What is the heat knife you are using to seal the stitching?
Could you tell me what you used to seal the edges and how much thread is needed? Thanks!
Do you need to size it for the persins head?
Klasse Arbeit … Sie haben mein Respekt
This is pretty cool !! 😉👍🏼
I might have to consider purchasing the PDF, Thank you for the video very Entertainment !
Arrrrrr, Matey! *Very* cool hat. I love the hats you post.

Hi Tony, you mentioned "Grab the pattern here and make the bag (???) right away"? Haha!
Well, I love this hat and the video....
how long did this take?
Cool stuff. Thanks for posting.
If anyone made this please share what you used for the sweatband. Unsure what we want to use.
2cm twill tape, can be found in any good haberdashery
Does the pattern have multiple head size options?
Yes.
Any suggestions on what exactly to use for the optional sweatband?
I have the same question
I used 2cm twill tape for mine, you can buy it in any good haberdashery
So what was your sweatband material? Chrome tanned? Why grain side out vs. flesh side? Newbie here.
i think its due to the tricorn hat design the flesh side is on the inside so it shows when bent upwards. Not sure if the inside grain in waterproof though so might need to do a double layer so it doesnt rot
is there a size 8 model/pattern?
Great hat! Where do you get your leather from?
Love this pirate hat...do you happen to sell these?
I can sell you the one in the video if it fits

My pattern does not show the locations for the rivets on the brim About how far apart are they?
Where is the pattern link?
How big is the brim so I know how much (ex. 24x24") leather to get? 5-6oz thickness correct.
He mentions 10 sqft

Making this right now =)
4hrs 5 minutes. Only got the rim left... but I think I'll lace it mexican style...
(Not accounting for taping pattern togheter and ~half of the cutting)
@@Alagachak I've just cut out the pattern and began punching holes....then went online and bought the three pronged punch as I couldn't cope😂
Excellent
Tony I never got the member club email with the pattern and password for this pattern yet?
Please check the community tab. The password is there
Stitching the brim folded up is an absolute no no. Add buttons, yes. As you want versatility the same way, the military did
Pirates style edvanture
thats just my thing !!
I Like it!🏴☠
Love it!
Wow! Esta excelente!

Это очень КРУТО 🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍👍👍
anyone make this out of vegtan?
veg tan can work but make sure it is thin enough, maybe 5 oz or 2 mm at the most and well treated against moisture
🎉
Thought of trying a ghostface mask in leather?
❤
anybody done this with veg tan?
