    I just finished making this hat for my sister in law. However, since she didn't have the money to make it out of leather, I made it out of 3mm thick felt... it looks just as cool !

    Pliers to pull the needle through thick spots. Omg, that's so reasonable, I can't believe this is the first time I've seen it/never thought of that. My hands thank you. Really beautiful work here!

    I made this this past weekend. Very easy to follow. I had much thinner 3oz leather and added some 18g wire in the brim to stiffen it up. It came out beautifully.
    I added a hat band and now I can hide my phone, wallet and car keys without them being visible. This will be perfect for ren faires.
    Thanks so much for the wonderful pattern on Esty and the video!

    The little metal brackets, not sure what they are called- but the extra circle of leather between them and the hat- is this functional or purely an aesthetic choice? Does the extra layer of leather help secure the decorative metal brackets? Very impressive. You make it look really easy.

    Hola Toni, me encanta todos tus trabajos y por eso quiero iniciarme en el mundo del cuero. Para ello tengo que ir comprando herramientas poco a poco. Pero veo que algunas de las que tienes en la descripción del vídeo ya no se pueden comprar, ¿puedes poner una alternativa?. Gracias. Un placer ver tus vídeos.

    Very nice pattern and video! I was just finishing cutting and taping the papers together :) I thought there would be an aluminum wire in that hat like the top hat, but stitching makes it just perfect too!!

    So what was your sweatband material? Chrome tanned? Why grain side out vs. flesh side? Newbie here.

    • @AcidJurassic
      @AcidJurassic Год назад

      i think its due to the tricorn hat design the flesh side is on the inside so it shows when bent upwards. Not sure if the inside grain in waterproof though so might need to do a double layer so it doesnt rot

    Hello Tony,
    I've purchased many of your patterns and I love them. I have one recurring issue that I've been able to work around on all the previous patterns but this one is different because it's round. The issue is that the top of every page is missing. That is, the dotted lines are cut off. The first thing that shows up is just a very small piece of the scissor handle. I do set my printer setting for "actual size." I've also tried to get into the margin settings to try to "open up" the printing area, but I've had no success with that. I'm using Adobe Acrobat to open and print. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

      Unfortunately some home printers will cut off the bottom or the top of the page no matter what you do.
      So i found a solution and made a quick tutorial on how to go around this problem
