It's a shame the GT isn't a package that comes with the 392 Hemi. With the 392, this package would have been the best of all worlds. The 392 would also make the price more reasonable.

I bought my ram rebel gt midnight edition at sticker (because I ordered it) the dealerships are selling these 7k over sticker. Now when I was looking at the TRX (which I wanted) they are going for 96k but then also factor in taxes so roughly around 110k (with 60k down your payment will be around 1100$ monthly). Factor in you need high octane fuel, also factor in you get 7 mpg and then factor in the cost of rising gas prices 🤔. I don't know about you, but I make decent money and I still can't justify a TRX. You can only go so fast and how often are you off roading. Now if money Isn't an issue, yes by all means throw them bills.

@@-Jethro- Being an old hotrodder from the early 70's, I looked at it this way. Instead of a traditional starter, the E-Torque system is turning the engine on and off every time you stop. Think about the number of times your engines turns on and off during your day. If you live in a city, the number of times it shuts on and off would be a lot more than someone that does highway driving. Over the life of the truck, the E-Torque system could be turning on and off literally thousands upon thousands of times. Any mechanical object with that much use is subject to a lot of wear and I believe subject to failure. I am sure replacing the E-Torque unit is very expensive. It will probably die as soon as the warranty runs out. Just a theory, that's all.

The first series of the 5.0 in the F150s (2011) was still faster than the Ram 1500s with the 5.7 even then! That was a 6 speed automatic the. Too. Now the 5.0 in the F150 is the “slowest” (the 3.3 doesn’t count) of the gas powered F150s out there for 2022!! It’s a fair bit faster than the Ram 1500s. The 2.7 and 3.5 are so close to each other initially and then the 3.5 shines. Ram MUST do something about that 5.7 and develop it,,,, or another powertrain to stay relevant. The 5.3 in the GMs is not bad, but the 6.2 is also very fast. A 6.2 powered GM is definitely less money (feature for feature) than the Ram 5.7 current version, not the Classic crap they still push.
The Rebel GT looks great and has a lot of great features, but that motor is letting the brand down. Sure it sounds good, if you drive it occasionally, but as an everyday driver or long road trip vehicle???? No bloody way. The noise gets old fast.
I’m not against the noise, but not all the time.

Nathan the one weakness I would like you to addressed seems to be common to ALL super off road trims from the factory like Ram TRX , Ford Raptor R, Toyota Tacoma TRD PRO, etc. ALL OF THEM SUFFER FROM MEAGER PAYLOAD CAPACITY. Especially the RAMa because they use those air suspension which weighs a lot. I venture that truck in this video has a payload of about 1,000 to 1,100 pounds. What good id having a truck that can go most anywhere, but doesn't have the payload capacity to carry supplies and equipment so you can camp when you get there? four 175lb men and a full tank off gas takes up 930 lbs of the 1,100 pound payload. What the hell are you going to do with 170lbs? For $100,000 grand why can't Ford and / or Ram make a great off road truck with some real payload capacity?

Yeah sorry the difference in the GT being a 5.7 with an intake and exhaust vs a base 6.2 supercharged that comes with way more power. Now if I was dodge I would have atleast given it the 6.4 common. Yes then I might be able to get behind it possible being better but only in price and atheistics. That’s like dressing up and rt charger and saying it’s better than the shittiest hellcat charger and selling it at a hellcat price. It’s better than the regular 5.7 ram but it’s not worth the price when you can do that and more to a regular 5.7 for less if done yourself or even at a shop through aftermarket means. This is one of those cases where your not getting what you payed for but with inflation and restriction coming they are gonna use that against us knowing the v8 is going to die. Sad really.

    I have 2020 ram rebel
    2” levelling
    35” rubber
    Muffler delete…
    Level 2
I was debating trading for trx..
    Test drive one other day…
That trx engine is amazing… but….
The truck is huge… I’m not off roading, it’s my daily driver…
    Also,,; I golf a lot and drink a lot…
That trx will only get me into trouble.. speeding tickets and possibly dui jail time..
    No thanks..
I’ll keep my blacked out rebel…
Black and red interior. Full glass roof, Harmon k speakers.
    Large screen
    Love my truck

Bring back the column shifter! One good thing about the rotary dial was you could still get a bench seat in most trims.

Late. But here in canada. You can get..find...TRX for $135k. Rebel GT is $80-$85....
    Basically $50k difference.
That is alot and would make many take the GT.
    $50k is a second car...or boat , etc

  • @Hunter-nb5bj

Way to much for that. That is a nice truck but not $71k I bought a used fully loaded 802a 2018 Raptor with 25k miles for $60k last year and yes that's not a bargain. It's much more powerful then the 5.7, better offroad, and looks better in my opinion. However, the Ram GT exhaust sounds great, especially compared to the Gen 2 Raptor.

They need to do just the opposite, put the Hellcat motor in the work truck package. Standard suspension, no fancy features, no big tires, no wide body, just a drivetrain strong enough to put 700+hp to the ground. I figure a $15,000 option on a $35,000-$40,000 truck. I'd buy that all day.
