Thanks so much for that. Too many conversations still needed for the Australian market. I’m gonna pass for now. That’s a real shame. I love the size. Thank you again for your review. The best!

FCA (Stellantis) did wonders for RAM.......they were always competitive, but just not quite there. Had a 2007 F250 PowerStroke in 2007, and it was a refined truck for a truck....but these are another league. Living in Australia now, since 2011, didn't think we'd ever get these guys here.....with choices from the Big 3, F Series and Silverado and the RAMs, you have to be crazy to get anything from the bowtie or Blue oval when we have these as a choice. Even the standard half ton is great, as is this TRX. Sadly we cannot get the Eco-Diesel, which I'm not sure you can in the states anymore either. But would have been best motor for Oz. Better economy, just, and seemingly more fitting for us to have a Fiat Diesel as well. Don't get me wrong, the Cummins is world's better, but not sure most would choose it here, as you have to step up to a 3/4-1 ton to get the Cummins, whereas the Eco-Diesel was on the half tons. While the payloads are beat by utes here, the towing capability is insanely better than our mini trucks like the Hilux, Ranger et cetera. Wanted a new RAM but was waiting for this model over the DT. Great review def helped my decision. Will be getting either a TRX or a 3/4 ton with the Cummins, with options rivaling luxury cars. Only issue?? Parking in inner Sydney; carparks won't be your friend, height or width wise, but for everything else....no problems. And thankfully not a lot of valet, as I wouldn't trust a valet here with it. But great review of a world class truck. Australia can keep their mini trucks, this is a REAL truck.
A non factory backed conversion, and it shows. Rack rattle etc, and they don’t bother changing controls, such as seat heating etc to correctly depict whether u r adjusting the driver or passenger seat. And SCD just announced that by mid 2022, they will cease converting Rams, and then concentrate on converting Ford F series vehicles. Buying a Ram with a factory backed re manufacture to RHD by Walkinshaw seems to be a much smarter purchase of this type of vehicle.
It's designed for the North American market and the middle east. In Alberta for instance, the price per liter is 1.269 CAD. In the US the price per gallon (3.78 liters) is starting to touch 4.00 USD.

And people need to stop whingeing about the payload of these proper "trucks". Granted 600kgs isn't a lot, but get the 1 ton with the Cummins, Rams website states a ~17k kgs towing capacity. Pretty sure you missed the rear seats recline a little. The handle you pulled to lower when you lifted the seat up. Also reclines the chair when in the down position and someone sitting in it and reclines it.
Wow what beautiful pick up truck. You got everything . I'm sure people buying this truck can afford the gas and maintenance or else they would buy toyota Hilux ute economy Diesel.
What I liked about Mr Rex's nearly every thing if they can sort the steering out and the driver settings on the screen I might have to pull half my savings out. But I'll wait till you test the night edition. The fact that you can do some off roading in a truck like this and be home in time for the pork roast looking like you just stepped out of the shower 🚿 it is a testament to the guys who created this machine. Yes thanks for the review I'll be keen to see how the night edition goes.
I live in NZ. Rams are sold here to in RHD including the TRX. Cost here around NZD270K.Shame the Americans don’t do Rams in factory RHD. Would save a fair bit in dollars
It is no dam good on Victorian Roads our lanes are too narrow. They need to be kept in the USA where they have wide open highways. Australian roads are not built for these things, especially inner city. Shame as it is a very nice piece of kit.
@@scottwilliam6141 you misunderstood my point. In terms of normal cars and 4x4s this is quite a bit wider than your average car. I personally think they are too big for our roads. Yes trucks and buses operate every where that’s a given. But these are essentially small trucks and should be classified as what they are a truck.
@@anakinskywalker4113 Read what you wrote in your comment. Australian roads and highways are too narrow. This is obviously untrue as shown by the number of buses and trucks that currently use them. In fact our interstate freeways are mostly used by heavy vehicles. And certainly major roads and freeways in Sydney are dominated by heavy vehicles. Yes they are larger than a Toyota Yaris . So What. So is your point what? You don’t like them ? I am still unclear on what your evidence is.
@@scottwilliam6141 no I think it’s a really nice pick up truck. Why not?
Ram charger is a reference to the old ram charger truck back in the 90s. It was like a bronco or suburban
Absolutely stunning. But I can't afford one. 😢
The greenies worst nightmare, getting one !
Nice video i really enjoy👍
If you watch Ben Hardy Car reviews on You Tube , he actually owns a TRX, wrapped in line green .
He jumps it ,yes they like to jump ,maybe his reviews can give you the perspective of the USA models .
His main issue is Fuel consumption ,but it's the type of vehicle you just love .
$95 grand in the USA 🤔so I suppose exchange rate and shipping plus convertion adds up ,in NZ they are even more expensive ,but hey if you have the money ,you have what you want .
Still a good vehicle really
Cheers
Paul looks like a teenage boy when standing next to this beast 😜
Great review Agree with you. It's not a need but an absolute want one things bit disappointed you didn't try the jump thing, since you did have Baja mode.Just for the fun of it. But then again, at that price, you must be a bit crazy to try it.
For a off road vehicle it has the softest tailgate opening, I haven't seen another truck like it that opens that soft.
Well it is a Ram. They are the most refined trucks on the market.
I just love the fact that stellantis actually made this awesome truck
When they showed the concept. I think enough people said, shut up and take my money to make it happen.
How confident are you with ford bringing the V8?
Dont need but want is the perfect description for this ute/truck...
Pretty sure you missed the rear seats recline a little. The handle you pulled to lower when you lifted the seat up. Also reclines the chair when in the down position and someone sitting in it and reclines it.
why is the left mirror redundant if u dont mind me asking please?
Was wating for this review so long.......thanks
Great review once again, Paul.
Fix the bloody DAB+.
would of been nice if they converted the wall sockets to the Aus wall standard during the conversion
Absolutely beautiful truck and you show everything so well, but pay load is dreadful for towing, please explain this
Wow what beautiful pick up truck.
You can almost feel that this was designed by a bunch of absolute nutters. Mega props to FCA for building this.
With they did left to right hand drive conversion here in blighty for beasts like this.
Would love to see Dodge gain a foothold in South Africa and introduce some more variety and competition in the bakkie (pickup truck) segment.
I live in NZ. Rams are sold here to in RHD including the TRX. Cost here around NZD270K.Shame the Americans don’t do Rams in factory RHD. Would save a fair bit in dollars
It's because they simlly don't fit (size wise) in RHD markets that have a half decent population like Japan, India, Indonesia, UK.
I absolutely love this truck but it would be more fun if it was Manuel transmission.
I asked one of the ram dealers, he said the waiting time is 8 years. lol
It is no dam good on Victorian Roads our lanes are too narrow. They need to be kept in the USA where they have wide open highways. Australian roads are not built for these things, especially inner city. Shame as it is a very nice piece of kit.
how do our trucks and buses get around? 🙄
Rubbish. How do you think trucks operate.
However I do feel that our roads are narrow especially compared to the USA. & I’m referring to Victoria where our freeway lanes are 2.6m wide. Most trucks barely fit in. This feels quite wide to drive especially in vic. I have nothing against it, just our shit roads.
too many issues with 3rd party conversions from my experience, RAM Australia converts it now
That's a first car i see that your not taller than, perfect for you
There's plenty of SS V8 utes and sedans getting around with the same fuel economy and worse, so I don't think that's a problem.Who can afford to buy one though? Mine workers? Big business owners? People with a lot of coin already. They'll sell ok.
That's rubbish my 800 hp hsv 9 litres per hundred on the highway and 12 litres per hundred combined even if I drive it hard it's about 15 litres per hundred
Great looking thing, makes a great noise, great for towing and with 98 fuel hitting $2/L great for bankruptcy.
Good like finding a mechanic near your home with the tools and diagnostics to fix it.
Which, looking at Dodge's dismal reliability survey ratings, you will be doing often.
270 service locations around Australia. Almost as many as Toyota has dealerships.
@@CarExpertAus They need put that on their website. Show zero in South Australia and only 3yr/100,000km warranty.
They are also converted in South Africa 🇿🇦 at a lesser price to the Aussie price
