While I generally agree with that sentiment I traded mine in because it was just getting ridiculous. The last couple months I was at over $1000/m just in fuel. I've had other gas guzzlers before, but the TRX is on another level. Plus side I sold it for more than I paid.
The fact is it was virtually bulletproof in a first-year truck and it was early production. I'm an advisor at a dealer and I can tell you we don't have that luxury.. and don't kid yourself a raptor is a lot slower and a lot less livable and has a lot less presence and shock value and cost the same. Don't let the 77k scare you most raptors are in the same range of price.. and the bonus is your truck doesn't have to sound like your wife's Taurus station wagon
Sad day, but was so glad to see all the great things you guys did with the truck. Almost brings tears to my eyes seeing the old video clips though. Hope the next owner enjoys it just as much.
Tommy encouraged me to buy my 2019 4Runner TRD Off Road, a few years back, and you guys encouraged my husband to recently order a TRX!... I'm always looking forward to what you guys buy next! It has been quite a journey!
Just bought one last week. Your reviews really played a role in my decision. Really love this truck. Wish you guys wood keep it a bit longer. This truck made me come back to the channel. Thank you guys for all the great info
A real shame that TFL is getting rid of the TRX. How about one last blast? The TRX needs to tackle Tumbleweed! Let see how it eats up that crazy course you guys made.
Sad to see you guys selling this. I watched all your TRX content before I purchased my own and it greatly helped me make my decision. Cheers to the TRX that inspired mine! Hope it goes to a good home.
I hate to see it go. It has been my favorite vehicle to watch. So many cool things you've done with it. Off road, towing, time trials, but my favorites were the drag races at the short track. Something about how quick that thing got up to speed and how you'd have to shut it down quick to keep from running off the track. So much fun to watch. As far as views, has this been one of your biggest hits? Did it exceed your expectations as far as views? Just curious. Thanks for getting it and doing so much with it.

Sad day, this could have been the best truck for you guys, however I think the best, or most iconic to me was your 1st gen Raptor. You put a winch on it, you featured it as the camera vehicle in almost every video, certainly Ike's and compared everything off road to it. It helps that you had that truck for about 3-4 years. So for fans that have been following you that long, it has to be that Raptor, but the TRX could have been if you kept it longer, added a winch, did even .ore crazy stuff with it.
Man if i had the money i would buy that TRX in a heartbeat! I would have to say that it has been my favorite vehicle on the channel to date, and in my opinion the best out there right now.
Thank you for giving us so much content on this beast. It took the R1T to take down its speed crown, but overall, I appreciated the coverage of Ram's first major effort against the Raptor. Now start saving your pennies for the eventual TRX EV!
@@keither7731 LOL, right! That R1T has instant torque from 0rpm. And yes, that Ike Gaunlet was not fun in terms of range. White knuckling and worrying on range loss is not something that induces confidence in towing.
Good question, as I don't recall seeing it take on any courses at the ranch either. Let's hope before they sell it, they do take it on every ranch course it could fit down, as that would be a cool thing to see and a good note to end the TRX videos once and for all.
It's a very cool truck, but i think as a daily driver it might be difficult depending on where you live, this would be cool as a second vehicle for off roading, towing your boat, snow mobile, atvs, etc and having fun with it. i would rather have a car for daily driving, and something like this to play with.
Yup you said Andre. You have to PAY 💰 to play. Fuel right now with 91 octane in southern Ontario Canada is hanging around $2.50 a litre Canadian. To fill up that toy will cost you about $240 per tank per five days🤯
I bet the appreciation in value more than offsets the fuel costs. Excluding the fact that such a truck is unaffordable to most, it's hard to argue it's a great value. The caveat is that this wouldn't be the case under "normal" market conditions.
Now with us knowing Ford is laying down and deciding not to put the sword down and beat this beast, I think Roman is going to regret trading this in. You can tell from the videos he has a deep love for this truck
This truck was such a big hit, it stayed in the fleet longer than a year. That's a strong message right there. A sad goodbye & I wouldn't be surprised if some TFL guys shed a tear. Still have the RAM HD to play with. And the Silverado ZR2.
Sweet truck I saw one in person a few weeks ago just a gorgeous vehicle and looks very capable but I wouldn't want to feed it you almost need a nother car so your not always feeding this monster but what a great job ram did on it
I wish you guys were closer to me in Eastern Nebraska, I put on 35-40K miles a year managing farms and could definitely help you get your long-term miles up with some ride alongs.
The TRX did have issues with the power train in one of their drag races which was recorded, though it seemed to resolve itself. Good thing about AWD is the differential probably won't explode like Demons/Hellcats... Probably...
Had it for a year and never took it took it to the open desert for its "designed" purpose. Would of loved to see it in the dunes. Also saying no issues always cracks me up they say it about every "long term" review. 15k miles it better not have any issues. TFL is my favorite truck review you tube channel but some of tests they do are goofy or not practical. But it does let you know all information you need to know most the time
They never have long term vehicles dodge diesel truck engines are pretty much bulletproof, but at 100ki you will need an ac compressor and all the other stuff will break around it, ive had 2 and will probably get another when prices drop, these 1 year buy and flip doesnt say a whole lot Motortrend has been doing this for decades
To me, the TRX is the pinnacle of trucks. It does everything well. The electric trucks cannot tow or haul heavy well. Yes, they're quick, but when the rubber hits the road they lack the fundamental needs of a full-size pickup truck owner.
Andre, I think YOUR blue F150 is the best truck in TFLs history. Talking about trucks from TFLs fleet, it will be the Gladiator or the Chevy Trail Boss. The TRX is just a fun toy, so expensive and way too thirsty. The TFLs RAM 2500 with the Cummins is by far better and so much realistic than the TRX.
This is an AWESOME 700+ HP beast of a truck that you can just thrash around in! Sure, it's expensive but you're putting more horsepower in a utility-based truck you can cruise turf over! I say it's a better usage of that Hemi engine than in a Hellcat Challenger or Charger, since it's the same engine but in a truck. If you're going to own one of these, you better take very good care of it....
Overall, I was very impressed with the TRX. I didn't know how it would do against the Raptor at first but I would say it is on par for sure. Speed, it wins but I still think the Raptor is slightly better off road. Will miss the TRX content but looking forward to the next great trucks!

I have a Rebel and wanted this but can’t get off the lot for under $100k and 10 mph premium only is a deal breaker. I’ll take the Rivian R1S for $78k (86 in my driveway) and sleep like a baby.
The efficiency is actually good but the mileage is bad. When you look at what the truck can do given its weight, 10-11 miles per gallon is very good. Many trucks get that mileage and cannot do half of what the TRX can do.🤔
Ford will release the 760 HP Raptor R at the end of the year Ram will counter with the 797 HP TRX Redeye in 2023 Then the EV truck wars will take over.
If history repeats itself. The last of the big HP cars will fetch big money in 30+ years. We will see these trucks going down the line of Barrett Jackson for 300k
RAM killed it with the TRX. The truck is the King for now.
Good thing you can write off the gas as a business expense
12.2 mpg in a shot they had. Man. And that's on premium, too. I guess if you can pay $80k for a truck you won't care but still.
Not the gas but the miles

For sure. No one is buying a 7000 lb truck with a supercharged V8 on 35s expecting decent fuel economy.
