  • I want to show you the easiest way to clear a sewer blockage that I've ever come across. Owning multiple income properties, I have come across my fair share of sewer backups and blockages. Oddly enough, a friendly Roto-Rooter employee showed me the bladder method for clearing blockages. I'm here to say that I've cleared 30-40 blockages using a bladder. This has saved me thousands of dollars over time and should be in your toolbox. It's fast, easy and cheap to use, and will work over and over again.

As a plumber that has and still uses these from time to time for minor blockages mainly cleaning residual debris after the line is cleared with a cable. If you put this in a pipe in your home or any building if it doesn't clear all the water will backfeed from that open pipe and come out all over your floor.

Of recently borescope digital cameras have come down in price. We are talking less than $100. They often had a reach
of about 16 feet and some connect to a Smartphone or to a dedicated 5 inch display. It will allow you confirm a blockage
is gone or some other problem like a cracked pipe which allows roots and other things inside the line. But the expansion
bladder does pay for itself in one unclogging. Use it FIRST before sending a camera down the drain and don't use an old
bladder because rubber dry rots even after a few years .

They work great, they even work in RV's. I suggest a 4-6' hose with a cut-off valve to put on the end of the main hose and use only it for sewers, that way you don't get your big expensive hose in the shit and you can work this with one person because you don't want it popping out when you turn the hose on which can happen if you don't do it properly.

As someone who spent 2 years as a service plumber and is actively working at a hydro jetting company these tools, while effective, are incredibly situational and usually are only effective if they are used at a access location where there is no other tie ins or vents between the insertion and blockage if there are other tie ins or vents there is a very real risk of flooding via the tie in or vent

to get the bladder down the clean out pipe get a can of wheel bearing grease. wipe all over the bladder then use use a1" z2" to guide it into the drain pipe.i find this makes it easier to install and remove.the greese will not hurt the bladder.

That same company sells one just like it, but instead of pin hole on one side; both sides have the gold metal piece it’s part #750. THIS IS THE MOST POWERFUL ONE!!!!! The pin hole is okay, but the identical one with the metal piece instead of the pin hole will unclog almost anything. You use to find these at any local hardware years ago until they found out how good they worked & started taking money away from plumbers. Need a couple because will burst & tear after so many uses - but you’ll get your $20 worth. Going on 23 years of 5+ people in the house & never paid a plumber to come. Goes to show how long this tool has been around.

Agreed. The Drain King model #750 for 3-6" pipes as well as the Drain King #186 for smaller pipes will take care of most clogs in your Home.

Update: again, thanks for making the video!
Hi again, just wanted to say this device worked like a charm! Took longer to drill & cut out the brass cap to the clean out. Best $20 I've ever spent!

Ive been using these for years. I have three different sizes. Havent had to use them for two years now that i put root killer down my pipes 2 times a year
I used to use hot water to help unblock the pipes… but the bladders blow up after the second time id do it.
It was a plumber who hooked me up with my first one… if that cant clear it, then i rent a commercial power snake

i would love to see the use of the smaller bladder for regular sized pipes please as our main sewer line is fine and flowing but our sinks and washer lines back up in a 2 1/2 inch pipe going outside
