This is the second time I got déjà vu watching your videos on RUclips. Lol it’s like I just watched this episode, never the less I enjoyed it again. I’m sure I’ll watch your videos more than once anyway.
Hi Ian, I agree with you on buying A new Jeep. I to built an old jeep ,1960 CJ 5,and had a better vehicle when I was done , than if I would have bought one with all the parts I wanted .less money also.
I've said it before and I'll say it again ... This is one badass build Ian ... I am so loving this build series . Looking forward to your next video . Until next time take care and be safe .
I've always said that the cheaper you buy it for the more money we need to spend to fix it up. However, I do agree when most of the vehicle is going to be swaped out anyways. I bought a broken 03 S10 for 600$. I'm going to take the cab off the frame and put it in my garage. The rest of the truck is going to the salvage yard. Might keep the wiring harness aswell. What I bought was a clean cab, and, a clean title.
It is more of a mental thing to be honest....I just bought a 1,000 dollar VW Thing....I know for a fact that I will be putting close to 30K into it before it is a long travel sand eating monster....and yes I could have bought a sxs today....but that just doesn't feel the same
I probably could have come up with something using the newer 14 bolt stuff yes....I have since swapped the rear calipers with the Ruff Stuff Calipers that have a parking brake
but could also fund the project by selling what ever parts he takes off and will not use ,, someone that has a stock auto that needs the axle that he takes out ..
Ian I really dig your channel, wish the videos were a little longer. You gou me hooked on the first scene then it's over! Do you have someone that helps you with the build on a regular basis? Your workin' ass fool if not!
Wheel stud installation: I guess no one has ever told you You should never strike the face of 2 hammers together cause it could cause them to shatter or chip off and cause injury to the user Seems like that procedure would have been better demonstrated on a press with proper tooling Seems like something someone would do after a alcoholic beverage Is that why your not on TV any more or a school teacher ?
Getting close to having this 53 Willys Wagon done and ready for the trail!!!!

We put these out on FB and other social platforms as well....and we let our sponsors post the videos too....you may have seen it there
I'm most impressed at how the steering linkage goes from raw steel to painted black in an instant at the 5:50 mark.
Tv magic

J K Rolling chassis, and no Harry Potter reference. I'm glad to see you took the high road.

I need to get one of those rebels.
It is a great welder
Hi... how do you like the Metalcloak Radius front control arms?... I am thinking about doing the same for my JLU.. Thanks!
Love em
I been following your work for a while and on a past show you were building a 6x6 any plans to revisit that kind of build
Probably one day..just not sure when
Looking good eh!
I love the channel ian
Thanks
I swear I saw JK rolling and thought it was the author of Harry Potter hahaha
Did you have to shorten the jk frame for this build?
Took about 8" off the front...thats it
Did you have to shorten the JK frame?
I had to take about 10" off the front that was it
Wish jesse was still here😭
I have a serious question, why run high steer arms and mount the drag link and tie rod so low?
It is still higher than a factory tie rod but really it is placed where the geometry would work the best
Is there a way to use newer gm stuff so you have a rear parking brake?
I probably could have come up with something using the newer 14 bolt stuff yes....I have since swapped the rear calipers with the Ruff Stuff Calipers that have a parking brake
Wow, you consider spending $20K on an off road project a reach. That is because of your superb fab skills! You save tons of money that way.
So true! Being able to fab stuff is the biggest savings
My son says. Ian is building my Jeep.
Those the daystar stinger Ian? - don
Yes
@@BigTireGarage got em!
What steering arms are those?
They are from Artec Industries......
At least the super cheap project is a better start point since you can throw whatever parts you want into it.
True

Nope....I prefer to do all the build myself
I thought this would have something to do with Harry Potter, cause of the title😳😅🤷♂️
I totally should have added that Tag
👍💯👍
repost :(

No, I actually am still on TV but thanks for watching
