Thats real deal body work! He should consider eye protection from dust while leveling with filler or other work that produces dust especially metallic dust. I’m confident he reviewed 3m’s literature to determine which filter type best protects for that application prior to the onset of work. Hope so.
If I had the time, it would've been put into epoxy first. However, I personally let epoxy sit a week to cure before starting the following processes. If going over bare metal, prep it thoroughly, be sure to press the mudwork into the scratches for proper adhesion, and get it primed asap. To seal it up. As you saw, I still put 1 medium coat of epoxy over everything and let sit overnight before topping with polyester.
This is about the 4th time I have watched this series. I wish it was longer videos. But great content. I watch each one before I start on my daughters Willy's. It's definitely helped with ideas
The lizard skin sprays pretty easy...there is a little over spray on the cowl...but like Jeremy said we will still give it a once over before we apply the actual finish paint.
Body shell looks great. Quality body work and blocking is more of an artform that an occupation. I spent days blocking/filling/priming the bed sides of my truck and still missed a couple spots.
One question I have always wondered...If the interior is stripped clean, what does it matter if it is masked off or not? It's gonna be covered with (fill in blank) anyway. Also the factory didn't mask just spray and go. It's something you see on all the car build videos and shows, but no explanation as to why.
A number of reasons. For me personally, I paint for a living and we always cover the interior. Dirt, dust, etc can blow out no matter how much blowing out you do. Its always easier to spray and/or sand on a clean surface
Wow, Jeremy sent that body to the next level, especially tacking in all those panel seams, those radii look machined! You missed a bit of red on the A pillars as you said it was all gone, lol.
@@demented_cycles thanks. with all the sheet metal, thats all I could do is tack it until I had a full bead. I had around 2 weeks of just welding between the body, grill, hood, and tailgate. Lol.
@@demented_cycles thanks. Its going to be a fun driver Paint won't be far from happening once he gets it wired and running. Trust me, you don't want me wiring😂
Feel like you need someone else in the shop. Love the videos, and the projects, but i think it would be more entertaining if there was another person in the videos.
Jeremy is clearly an artist in his trade.
Perfect end to a great day in the shop....Tennesee Sippin' Whiskey !
You got that right!
that looks really nice the root beer brown on the white !!!
Yeah I am super happy with the color combo
Thats real deal body work!

That came out awesome but since I’m in the northeast and hate rust, I would have epoxy prime the whole truck before laying filler over the welds.

My father in law recently got a 62 Willys pickup and it needs... a lot of love.
Beautiful work.
Thanks
GREAT VIDEO MAN, IM WORKIN ON A 54 PICK UP , THERE SO COOL.............
That is not body work! It´s Art!
My shoulders still hurt. 😂
@@inthehomeshop ahahahahaha
Well this was a happy suggestion from RUclips. Haven't had Cable TV for probably 7 years. Always enjoyed watching Extreme 4x4. Subbed!
Question for you. Is there a replacement suspension kit that converts the coil spring suspension on a 2019 1500 dodge to a air bag suspension?
When is it better to weld as opposed to Bond? (Other than dealing with the newer thinner sheet metals used on newer automobiles)
Wow glad I found this channel been watching for years. Glad your still doing it.
Jeremy must be freaking on the overspray. Looks nice man.
Nah. The wagon still has to be prepped for paint. Lol. Thats why I shot it in a sealer😎
@@inthehomeshop My only experience is with Rhino Liner not Lizard Skin.

Wonder if he ever listens to Static X?
😂
Yes, and I actually had the pleasure of meeting Wayne on the trail one day in Johnson Valley
@@BigTireGarage well that just kicks ass!
Honest question, could you have dipped or blasted the body and saved time and money on sanding the old paint off?
We talked about it, but with how well the roof paint looked we really thought this was the best way to go
Ian, that thing is gonna be so badass bro😎
Yeah I am super pumped about it
I like the new twilight housings. Look like they were always there.
your the man ian. keep it up.
WOW I OWN A1961 WILLIE'S GREAT AUTO, I ENJOYED WATCHING THIS PLEASE CONTINUE THIS TO THE COMPLETED FINISHED END CAN'T WAIT
WOW that’s a lot of body work. Props to Jeremy that looks killer
Thank you. And yes. It was😂

Well said!
Ok after I watched this, it was worth the wait. You are far my favorite Canadian. Cant wait to this when its done
Thanks for watching
Great video series man 👍🏻
Good common sense build. Looks great

Looks great. What ever happened to the commanche build?
It will be back after the Wagon is finished up
🍻👍
Ian! Glad I found you man. Didn't know you had a channel till now. Enjoyed all your work in the past and look forward to more.
Question. Why boom mat in the sides and not the lizard skin? And what are you going to do with the inside roof? Looking great !
Sponsorship...
Boom Matt was easier to get around all the tubing I had added to the sides
Wow, Jeremy sent that body to the next level, especially tacking in all those panel seams, those radii look machined!

Thank you. It was an awesome project to be a part of
Yeah saw that after..its all black now
I love it after my 1953 f100 build I have a 1950 willys pickup to do.
How many hours in the paint prep, my 49 is OEM wavey
I honestly quit counting. I was focused on getting it done and back to him
OK whats the favorite whiskey you drink at the end?
Depends on time of year...in the fall I like a good Rye....rest of the year I bounce between a few locals right now. H Clark and Chatanooga Whiskey
Are you gonna have this at the Smokey Mountain Jeep Invasion this summer?
Makes me not feel so bad about the hundreds of tack welds I did on my XJ's fenders.
"All" * Except that big 'ol spot of red on the drivers A pillar :)
Well it always taste better than it smells !
Looks great. Can't wait to see it finished and then on the trail
aww come on let us know what kind of whiskey your sippin on
Depends on the time of year....in the winter I like to sip on some Rye.....rest of the year it is different types of Bourbon
@@BigTireGarage never had any rye whiskey before. I'll have to look into it
Dayum! How is this not being tagged as porn?

Are you going to put a cage in it?
Not this one...it won't be hitting serious trails..just easy Moab ones like Top of the world and Fins and Things...more of a dirt road daily
What is this, making us wait for a video? Just play it
But then you wouldn't have the suspense!!

Maybe....never had anyone who could keep up with my work ethic
this is a real bondo shop
