I think my favorite thing about JJC playing Michael is that him and Michael are the same age, so it’s not even that far fetched that an “old man” is moving and doing the things Michael does when it’s literally someone the same age doing it, stunts and all. Kinda iconic.
And I just love the idea of a late 50’s ish Michael. Honestly I always forget that 78 Michael is 21 and I don’t like that very much. 21 is so damn young and just not that physically intimidating and doesn’t seem weathered enough to be ultra cruel or emotionless. I think 30-35 for original Michael works better for his behavior, movement and power.
@@youngcansuela8327 Michael was conceptualized as a normal looking young man to show that the eternal evil which seeks to uproot our community’s sanctity and peace can and will manifest even in the most normal of circumstances i.e. post WW-II American middle class suburban home with two parents and two children. I was never a huge fan of his mask. Especially in the second. The first isn’t as bad but I feel like it looks like it’s trying too hard to be scary. It just looks too perfect so unnatural. I think the new trilogy has handled a rotted mask far better personally
Great ranking Chris! Pretty close to mine, the flashback scene in Kills does a job of getting a best of both worlds for the original and the new series, it doesn't appear it has any exposed flesh colouring like the original, as the 2018 timeline doesn't, but it's a really cool look
Definitely 100% agree with the new trilogy. They do have their problems, especially Ends, but they get the image and portrayal of Michael Myers down PERFECTLY. The mask is on point and James Jude Courtney did an amazing job.
I actually really like the look of Michael in the hospital scene of Rob Zombie’s H2. It just looks unhinged and terrifying. It would be by far the one I would LEAST want chasing me! Honorable mention for the burnt mask from Kills.
@@DraconicMordred it’s actually a underrated film but the only problem is Micheal shows his face wayyy to much and the ghost mom but beside that , it’s a p emotional film that deals with actual ptsd and tramua
Yeah I buy that too. Also, though it’s the same night, he’s also been through a lot in that night both psychologically and physically. I think it makes sense that he’s more shark like, less agile. Almost like a schizophrenic flat affect kind of behavior and movement.
Pretty spot on for me, except mine would be a top 10 with the '78 look as third, '18 as second, and Kills as first. Kills definitely has its pacing and writing issues, but I'm a huge fan of how they turned it in to an epic battle against evil itself, and how intimidating the mere presence of Michael is because of it. The mask, the outfit, the build, the strength, the brutality and the acting all came together to truly embody what they were portraying him as.
Halloween 4 was the first ever Halloween movie I saw as a kid on TV. That sequence where Michael is in Jamie's room during the thunderstorm scared the shit out of me. So as far as I knew that's what Michael was supposed to look like. Looking back on it now after seeing all the other ones I agree the mask definitely looks goofy but I will always have a soft spot for it.
H5's mask did look MUCH better than its immediate predecessor, but H2018's was perfect. Aged and worn, the look tells a story, but not yet put through the abuse of the denouement and Kills.

Idk what it is, maybe just the fact that Halloween 4 was my introduction into the Halloween franchise, but I've always really liked the look of Michael in that one. Its very clean and expressionless.
I think 1 looks so good because it's not trying to emulate anything he's just so cold and emotionless in the way he walks, like he's not thinking about his look but thinking about his next kill, and Rob Zombie at least tried to do his own thing and not copy the original so I see why people like the Michael Myers in those movies
H2 81, and JJC’s interpretation is by far my favorites. The 78 flashback scene in Kills was high up there as well. Zombie’s was always my least favorite though. He really took away from the mystique behind Michael, and made him just an average guy that wasn’t even supernatural, and was a crybaby.

I’d have to say 2018 is my favorite look of Michael I love the weathered look of the mask. It looks like it’s been in storage for 40 years and when he put it back on it was awesome. I think all of the H40 masks are great I liked the burned look of Kills mask and the dusty moldy look of Ends mask.
I thought Halloween Ends was phenomenal. If you think about it 2018 Halloween is Laurie’s movie, Halloween Kills is Michael’s movie and Halloween Ends is Allison and Corey’s movie. I think this trilogy is the very best of Michael Myers since the original and I am in love with it…

If you like Airon Armstrong's performance in the flashback scenes in Kills, make sure to watch the *super* old horror film "Friday the 31st" from the Blinky500 channel which you can actually find here on RUclips. As you might have guessed, it's a fan film depicting a showdown between Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees. The image/sound quality isn't great, but it's fun in its own way and Airon Armstrong actually plays Michael in it. I remember downloading it and watching it from one of those ancient video-sharing websites back when I was in middle school. So cool to think that Michael's actor from those humble beginnings now got to portray The Shape on the big screen!
Glad you didn't overthink it. Original all the way! I think I may completely agree with your list...close on 2018 trilogy and original pt 2 as my 2nd place. But pretty nice list!
Whenever people complain about the Michael Myers mask in Halloween 2 compared to the Halloween 1 version I just think of how he may have had an allergic reaction from leaves or bushes when he was fleeing the scene and that’s why the face fills the mask more (because of it being swollen which makes it more round)
I like the flashback Myers look, but I think even with the 2018 masks, is it’s way too form fitting, what mask makers post don post lol, is that the original mask is one size fits all, so it’s got a looseness to it, I think that’s the only thing it’s missing.
The Latex was very different back then too. If you look (and hear) Jamie Lee Curtis ripping the mask of Tony Moran in the '78 it sounds like taking off dishwasher gloves. All these new masks are made with the same American Latex called RD407. It's better stuff than in what they had in '78 but very thick and stiff. There's a dude in Greece called N.A.G., he makes great masks and he uses medical Latex, like they use for medical gloves and he says you can't get that in the States.
I've met Jude Courtney at the Chicago Horror Convention, it's crazy, he's not like a hulking beast, but he's 6ft 2 inches, and he has these strong, big hands, where if he gets a bold of you, it's all over.

Halloween 4 8. Halloween H20 7. Halloween II (1981) 6. Halloween 5 5. Halloween Ends 4. Halloween: Resurrection 3. Halloween Kills 2. Halloween (1978) 1. Halloween (2018)
Halloween 4 Michael Myers is creepy as hell. That opening scene is great, nobody can say they wouldn't be scared if they saw him in their room looking like that. Resurrection and H20 were garbage unless we are counting the opening scene in H20 where they used the part 6 mask. Part 5 gets too much hate too, it's different but again is very creepy. I don't like when you can see his eyes, a good Michael Myers mask does not reveal his eyes.
Totally agree with you on Halloween 5 Michael Meyers. One of the better masks for its sheer weird and creepiness. I'd personally switch him and Halloween 2 Michael Meyers. Apart from that agree with the list except I believe James Courtney is the best ever.
The RZ myers look is just GOAT tier, now the trilogy myers rips off so much of the Rz myers it’s comical. But I just love the story behind the mask in the 2 rob zombies Halloween movies, as the mask rots so does his mind, by the time the mask Rots and is ripped the kills are more painful and violent. Look at H1, while Myers is nasty, he does let loomis and Annie live, go to H2 the mask is ripped and loomis gets stabbed 18 times and Annie is wrecked in a pool of her own blood, the mask is the driving force behind his state of mind, when he puts on the mask in H2 it’s even more important as when he wears it he’s about to fuck you up it has a purpose.
I kinda like that Micheal puts on his mask to kill in Halloween 2, like it is is hunting outfit. I also love that he looks different than all the other iterations because he is thematically being corrupted by Laurie's trauma.
@@owen______the mask and his mind age deteriorating as one, so if you are killed by hobo myers esp when the mask is ripped, it’s going to be one of the worst ways to die, and unlike trilogy myers, nobody even attempts to fight this guy he’s too big, anyone touched rz myers mask he smashes the woman’s face in over and over again until there’s nothing left of her face
I'm tired of people saying Halloween 4 mask sucks when it has the least emotion out of any of them. There's many cool and scary shots of Michael in 4.. The Halloween 4, 5 and 6 Michael would kill the Michael Myers in 2018, Kills and Ends. He was proven to be human in and can be stopped in these new movies. He got out wrestled by a teenager and his mask stolen that's worse than Busta Rhymes kicking his ass using karate. Michael never died in the Thorn timeline and was proven to be unstoppable no matter the injuries. He was an equal to Freddy and Jason. Now these new movies proven he's not supernatural like many thought for decades

My favorites are of course OG Michael and then next would be 2018 Michael. I can’t get that shot out of my head when he puts the mask on for the first time and is looking down in the trunk. He just looks so fuckin cool in that shot
I'll be the one to say it , shoulder pads for halloween 4 is terrible , but for some strange reason the mask? I LOVE IT and I have no idea why , I can see how it looks goofy to some people and it is very differant from the originals , however , how bland it is , and how expressionless it is , amazing , genuinely.
With modern technology, a convincing mask swap of the H4 mask could probably be done for the whole movie. Would love to see The Thorn Trilogy all use the H6 mask.
The thing is that my brother always thought that Michael was some sort of a demon because when he starts to emerge from the darkness, he said “it looked like The Shape that was waiting until that victim was the most vulnerable” and how do I know this because he is an expert on demonic possessions
My personal favorite is James Judes Michael Myers even over the original. As far as the eyes through the mask go is that it works well because of that dead eye. Extremely creepy and scary.
Yes I don't know what happened in some of those middle movies ,as humans sometimes we tinker to much with a good thing, and then sometimes change the look completely.
My Ranking: 1. Halloween 1978 (sheer perfection) 2. Halloween 2018 3. Halloween Kills 4. Halloween Ends 5. Halloween 2 6. Halloween (2007 Remake) 7. Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers 8. Halloween H20 (some of the masks if you know what I mean) 9. Halloween II (2008) 10. Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers 11. Halloween Resurrection 12. Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers
I love how gross he looks and possibly smells and when I watched it I thought they nerfed him but now after a second watch he felt more like a wounded animal that’s dying because his injuries are starting to get to him but doesn’t want to die just yet
Great vid as always Chris! I don't know if you or anyone else can help with this, but I seem to remember reading an article years ago (I think online) that explained the reason all the masks looked different was because of copyright - does that sound familiar to you or anyone..? Sort of a Frankenstein's monster deal where they weren't allowed to recreate the original mask look even if they'd wanted to. I haven't heard any reference to this anywhere for ages so it's possible I might have dreamed this but I swear I did read it somewhere once upon a time! Anyway really enjoying your vids :)
Yeah, I read something like that once too. Even something about William Shatner sueing because he didn't want his likeness used. (Which doesn't make sence cause it looks nothing like him but ok) It's either that or all of these sculpters don't know what the hell they're doing. I mean, why not just take an indy mask, some of them are spot on, keep the mold and you're golden for every new movie. Anyway, I asked the same question you did online but never got an answer and I'm sure I read it.
What I like about 2018-2022 Michael is that he was very terrifying in appearance and the way he hunted others. Rob Zombie Michael was also very terrifying and very hulk like but something about 2018 Michael that would just scare me more.
Ressurection was the first one I saw as a 17 year old in the theater, it wasn’t as bad then as it is watching now, it has dated itself because the plot centered so much around a dated time in technology

Everyone hates on 4, but I love my flabbergasted murder uncle! 😂
You actually watched the Halloween without Myers in it ?
I agree the 1978 Look rules most🎃
Since ted white who played Jason in the final chapter recently passed how about a Jason version of this
My favorite Michael myers look will always be Halloween Kills and of course 1978
Curse of michael myers mask was the scariest and with that creepy soundtrack from theatrical cut even more scary
Love you cosplay chris not in a weird way in a fan way your the man !!!!❤
Halloween 4 Michael Myers is creepy as hell.

Well, now I wanna see you rank *just* the masks... (I'm relentless! I know! 😅)
Who made your Kills mask? That looks 100% perfect.
Simon brandalino made the mask
My favorites are of course OG Michael and then next would be 2018 Michael. I can’t get that shot out of my head when he puts the mask on for the first time and is looking down in the trunk. He just looks so fuckin cool in that shot
I loved Dick Warlock's portrayal of the shape.
He is the best
If Nick Castle and JJC wasn’t ranked 1 and 2, this wouldn’t even be a valid ranking! Those two are the best!
Chris: ohh you can see his eyes, GET IN THE BIN! haha but for real solid ranking, I agree 👌🏻
Great ranking.
Where did you get that Darth Maul figure?
I hollered when you said "What do you mean guacamole is $2 extra..." great video, but Halloween Ends was very disappointing in my POV
cosplay chris is there any photos of James Jude Courtney's Halloween Ends Michael Myers make up. I saw the film and it was amazing.
I absolutely hated that mask lol.
He's the worst looking myers with the shoulder pads smh and ugly mask imo
00:02 I mean it’s not meant to be him …..💀
It's weird man... I completely agree with all of your criticism for the H2O look. But it's still one of my favorites. lol.
how have I been here before any likes or comments for like 3 videos in a row??
You’re great bro
Dick warlock and Halloween II 1981 the best hands down!
My favourites are the 1978,1981,2018 and 2021 mask
Rob zombies Michael Myers is my favorite. Absolutely terrifying to me how big he was and the way he looked.
Yes I don't know what happened in some of those middle movies ,as humans sometimes we tinker to much with a good thing, and then sometimes change the look completely.
My Ranking:
1. Halloween 1978 (sheer perfection)
2. Halloween 2018
3. Halloween Kills
4. Halloween Ends
5. Halloween 2
6. Halloween (2007 Remake)
7. Halloween 6: The Curse Of Michael Myers
8. Halloween H20 (some of the masks if you know what I mean)
9. Halloween II (2008)
10. Halloween 4: The Return Of Michael Myers
11. Halloween Resurrection
12. Halloween 5: The Revenge Of Michael Myers
Did you know that the original mask was moulded from William Shatner? When I watch startrek now all I see is micheal myers in charge of the 1701 lol 😂
Everyone knows that
Did you know Jamie Lee Curtis played Laurie Strode in more than 1 movie?
@@jakenapier6925 really?
I cant believe that
Im baffled
@@Cannibalize946 I know right!
I loved the look in Ends, sucks he was only in a few scenes
I love how gross he looks and possibly smells and when I watched it I thought they nerfed him but now after a second watch he felt more like a wounded animal that’s dying because his injuries are starting to get to him but doesn’t want to die just yet
I love your videos
@@Jayskiallthewayski thanks for replying, good to know I hadn't imagined the whole thing! 😂

Halloween 2 by far is my favorite look👌
Finally someone ranks that horrendous mask from part 4 dead last
He had the most handsome eyes, an angel’s eyes
2018 timeline (all masks) and 1978 are my top two.
I like that mask in Halloween 4, probably I'm the only one who does.
I honestly like his newer masks like making it look burned and torn makes it more scary looking
Can’t decide about the 1st & 2nd Place
1. or 2. Halloween 2018 or Kills Mask
1. or 2. Halloween 2018 or Kills Mask
3. Halloween 1978
For me Halloween 6 mask is terrifying and so is the actors portray of Michael, the original is 2nd place and the others are all a tie for 3rd place
Cuanto a salir otras Halloween
What I like about 2018-2022 Michael is that he was very terrifying in appearance and the way he hunted others. Rob Zombie Michael was also very terrifying and very hulk like but something about 2018 Michael that would just scare me more.
Ressurection was the first one I saw as a 17 year old in the theater, it wasn’t as bad then as it is watching now, it has dated itself because the plot centered so much around a dated time in technology
I love the halloween 5 mask
My ranking of each main look for each movie

Can you do leatherface?
Feel like Rob Zombie Mike Myers would be friends with Tommy Jarvis from Friday part 4
2018 reboot mask was the best mask since the original and then Halloween 6 mask was a great 3rd 4th mask.
am i trippin or the michael head in the background was lookin at me a little wierd
