very educational and I enjoyed watching it from the first person perspective. Made it feel very real and thrilling when you did the wheelies haha. Thank you for this vid! Great work!
My dad always told me to apply some force to both handles for better stability in bumpy roads or off roading. it works very well. (you need to have some strenght if you want an atv in my opinion)
Leaning up on a hill is what you don’t want to do, if all your weight is in the front then there’s no way in the back to keep your tires on the ground firmly since those are the ones that are spinning; you want to sit in the front part of the seat to were the weight is evenly divided between the back part and the front to where the front end does not pop up and the back tires are firmly on the ground.
Hi just wanna ask cause my friends and I planning to have an atv ride rental this weekend.. but we never drive a 2 wheel motorcycle before and we also don't know how.. is atv easy to use like a bump car on theme parks? Or we should learn 1st how to drive a motorcycle?
Motorcycles and dirtbikes operate the same as the atv shown in the video. The biggest thing is they're awkward to balance on when you ride them for the first time. If you have the choice. I would choose the atv.
I have only ridden dirtbikes a handfull of times and I don't feel comfortable on them. Probably because I've ridden quads for over 10 years. The thing for me is it feels like a bicycle, which I'm used to, but when you accelerate it feels like your out of control and unbalanced the whole time. Eventually you get used to it, but quads are definitely easier to ride.
Just brought my first ATV after riding sports bikes for years and being petrified of gravel and mud 🤣 can't believe how top heavy they are on slops, minor ones at that. Any tips on picking one up? Or how to jump off it when it starts to go 😱
I don't know if you guys still check this page, but I'm writing a novel and I had some questions about ATVs. Is it hypothetically possibly to hotwire one and make it run on its own for a few hundred yards? Like, brick on the petal, tape on a switch, sort of thing...?
captainunload Hmm. Yes you can hotwire atvs. Many are stolen and used that way. If you tape the throttle down and your not on it its not gonna go very fast lol unless its automatic or you start it out in 3 gear or so and jump off so it builds up speed
Nice. Thanks for getting back to me so fast. So, if it was was running on its own, would you have to stabilize the handles? Would it drive all over in circles or flip over otherwise?
Ok first of all, great video, but a few tips, don't lean over 1 wheel, 2 is better, if its not holding your quad down then lean a little further, and adjust slightly forward and back, and a top tip for the beginners here, lean when going into corners.
Hold front brake and lean forward to get the weight off the rear end and gas it. Donuts are the same idea just gotta turn and start out while rolling at a low speed
Ive been riding it for 9 years. Well aware. I used the clutch because the majority of sport atvs dont have the sport clutch and wanted the video to show how it would work. I always used the clutch anyways. I now have a TRX450R with a real clutch

Your 4 wheeler will sound a lot louder, and it feels like you are not going any faster, that's when you shift. 1st gear wont last very long at all. If you look at the 8:16 mark in the video you can see me go through the gears at a high acceleration. One thing to remember, just because your in say 4th gear, doesn't mean you have to be going at that high speed. Sometimes when i go down my road I will be in 4th gear and i'm barley on the throttle to keep my atv quite because its not at higher rpm's. At that same speed I could be in 3rd if I wanted to but it would be louder. Generally lower gears are for lower speeds and higher gears are for higher speeds. Its just something you have to work with and get used to
Ya boy If you are starting out I would recommend starting with a 250 cc so long as you are old enough. The one I'm riding in this video is a 250. Its a good one to start with because it has some good power but you won't get out of control on it. It will reach about 55-60 miles an hour. As for brands such as Honda or Yamaha, I'm biased on this but I would choose Honda because mine has went through some serious stuff and its still going. I would buy a used one that's newer than a 2006 personally unless its in good shape. I wouldnt spend a bunch on a new atv cause you might not like it but thats your choice. If you want something reliable, dont spend less than $2000 because anything listed thst low might have some problems. Just get on your local Craigslist in your area in the ATV section and see what all is out there
Anthony Pitcock Down shifting is the same as shift up gears but the other way around. If your in 5 gear and you need to slow way down and turn around you downshift into a lower gear
@marsh1998 so not only is it a cheap ass helmet to begin with but it's 20 years old and has hit the ground before. Helmets should be replaced every 5 years or after an impact. May not be from Amazon but still a cheap ass helmet that won't properly prevent TBIs from happening. But if you wanna trust your life to a garbage helmet and no actual protective gear be my guest. Been riding 22 years and seen what happens to people that don't invest in safety and its usually some type of paralysis. Proper gear and a nice quality helmet can reduce the chances of fucking yourself up for life. If you think that shits just to look the part then sell your shit and get the fuck out of the sport all together. That's the kind of shit that'll get quads banned just like the trikes did in the 80s.
