It was recently brought to my attention that at 3:02 I referred to other riders as thugs. This is simply not the case. Listen carefully and you can hear me clearly saying "folks." If you haven't already noticed this is a clean channel. Also, "folks" is a term I use often on my channel. I have to admit, playing the video back it did sound similar to the word thugs, but if you pay close attention you can hear the sound "ks" at the end of the word, confirming that I in fact said folks. I remember filming this video like it was yesterday and I know what I said. Also my accent can be hard at times, causing the words that I'm saying to sound a bit different than what you're used to. I'm making it clear now to everyone that I did not say thugs. I'm surprised that someone would consider I would say that considering my reputation on this channel has always been to keep things clean and enjoyable for all walks of life. I'm not upset that someone would point this out, however, I'm a bit disappointed that they would think that I would call fellow riders thugs on this channel, I don't stand for that, and I hope you don't either.

I’d never ridden a quad before today and I decided this day was the day that I took that hard earned money and got my dream machine...a banshee. Greatest thing I’ve owned to date. This tutorial is helping me get along a little smoother but releasing the clutch without gas isn’t cutting it. My bike needs a little throttle love to get going.
Awesome congratulations on your new quad! Also welcome to the sport! The banshee is one of my favorite quads in fact I believe that's going to be my next buy for the channel. Banshees lack that lower end torque that those high performance four strokes have so in most cases you do have to motivate the engine a little with a little bit of throttle. It's awesome to hear that this tutorial helped you along! Thank you for your support! Have fun riding and be safe!
Ever since I started four wheeling, my Father has been telling me that I need to know how to drive Clutch and this was mad helpful! Thank you so much for the tips!
Just got my first quad yesterday I was having problems with clutch but I will try again today and I saved ur video so I can go over it again before riding thanks for the vid
Just bought a 2003 660 raptor with big bored and all that. First ‘fast’ quad ever, needed to learn, this seems like a good video! I can’t wait to drive her
This was really helpful when I first started to learn but I think you should let people know that not every quad just takes off when you let go of the clutch without giving it gas
Thank you! Glad I was able to help! I mentioned in the video that depending on the amount of torque that the engine delivers will determine whether it can take off like that or not.
This is great, I bought a Raptor 350 not knowing how to ride manual and watching this video made it alot easy to ride it. Still need a bit more practice but I'm able to actually ride it now instead of just sitting on it and stalling the bike lol
Great way to teach starting in first! Have used the method many times when teaching new riders. If not they wanna rev the piss out of it let the clutch fly out.
Thank you for the lesson. I just bought my first atv Kawasaki KFX 400 and it’s tricky the first time. Good advice. Now I got to go to a open field to learn. Will be my first time to use a atv.

Just saw this hope to get my first ATV I’m excited watched your vids and this made me feel way more confident and not over think and it’s all timing and being careful
Great explanation! I will now keep my rappy in neutral when starting. Now just curious, does the same concept of starting off on 1st gear apply to a modified one? The one I just bought has a full exhaust and a EFI tuner. I was taught to always give a tad bit of throttle when starting out in 1st gear.
What I was demonstrating here was best way possible to learn how to take off without stalling or burning the clutch however once you become a more experienced rider and more confident releasing the clutch while increasing the throttle is the ideal way to take off. But until you understand the mechanics of the bike it's often difficult to tell people how to do that without them either stalling all the time or reving too high and burning your clutch. So if you've already got the hang of it and you feel more confident by all means give it a little bit of throttle while releasing the clutch.
Thank you a lot for you help we’re going camping this weekend and I’ve had my quad for like 3 years and my anxiety gets so bad that I don’t ever like to ride it. This video helped A LOT thank you so much I never new it was that easy.
Dude I literally rode for the first time yesterday using YOUR INSTRUCTIONS! Im obsessed now!!! Sharing your video to all my friends who wanna learn! Including one of my sons! Thank u so much for this 💯
Thank you for the kind words... If you're interested in a more advanced riding video I'll have that on the channel around the start of the new year. In the meantime be safe and have fun riding!
Very nice video! Road my first quad today and I didn’t notice you can be in 1st gear and slowly letting go the clutch and still move. I kept giving it throttle which gave me a jumpy start! But overall it was really fun and now I know! Thank you! 👊
I've shifted down gears without a clutch my whole life and never ran into a problem, your luck may vary but I'm gonna continue to do this knowing eventually I'll need to replace the clutch no matter what.
So it's all about timing and if you are experienced enough to shift without a clutch without grinding the gears then by all means I see no reason why you should shift any differently.
It's probably still in gear which will prevent it from turning on so rock the quad forward and back a little bit while pressing the gear shifter down in order to place it back into neutral. Once in neutral try starting it up again. If this doesn't work let me know and we'll keep brain storming 👍
@@ivantorres8322 awesome! I'm so happy I was able to help you out! That's why I created this channel to help folks and to bring them some awesome entertainment! 🤘
@@miguelarvizu8864 It is best to turn them off in neutral so that way you don't accidentally start it up in gear. But most quads also have a safety switch which will prevent them from starting in gear unless your clutch is disengaged.
You just made me LMAO 🤣 That's so awesome to have such great feedback! Thanks brother! 🤘 I'm glad I was able to help you brother! Have fun riding and be safe 👍
Yes, that's called cruising and you can stay in that gear as long as you want or as long as the engine allows. If the engine starts to struggle then it would probably be a good time to shift down.
@@JoelAlvarez-wy3rr really you can stay in any gear as long as you want as long as you're not lugging the engine or over revving. Typically though people will go into final gear and remain in that one longer than most other gears simply because usually in order to get up to a nice cruising speed you're going to be in one of the higher gears which is usually 4th or 5th, or 6th if you have a 6-speed gear case.
i have a 2007 suzuki ltr 450 and i didnt know that you had to let go of the clutch slowly, i always gave it gas and then let go my clutch slowly, im going to try the way you taught in this video. thanks
I apologize for not seeing this until now but no the only time you release the clutch slowly is when you're taking off so that way you don't flip back. Once you're shifting into any other gear you can pop the clutch out or release it quickly.
It's best just to release the clutch quickly as possible basically just by releasing it in such a way that it snaps back to its resting position. This will prevent the clutch from burning which will occur if you release the clutch slowly.
@@jesusochoa684 okay I understand now. So what you're saying is when you press the throttle, sometimes it doesn't return to it's original position. This can be caused by a few different things but commonly it's either a throttle cable that needs to be lubricated or replaced or it could be a sticky throttle slide inside the carburetor. Check those two things out first and then go from there.
My brother just bought a quad and it was my birthday the next day after he bought it and I been wanting one so it got one and I watched this video it really seems easy to ride it now but he's gonna get another one so we can both have fun
Definitely subbing, my dad hasn't drove a quad since a kid and told me to give a little gas and let go of the clutch, didnt know you can move without giving gas, need to get my shift lever adjusted, I wear size 13 and can't get my foot under the shift, you can see in my pfp I got the 2021 YFZ450R SE, would hate to damage it in less than a couple years because I'm new at Quads, used to have an RZR but are extremely expensive and take up alot of room

Haha thanks brother! I appreciate the kind words! Be safe and have fun riding!
You're a perfect teacher 😙
Thank you to help me how to drive ❤
Thank you for the kind words... If you're interested in a more advanced riding video I'll have that on the channel around the start of the new year. In the meantime be safe and have fun riding!
@@justineeivaan2122 typo?
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL I don't know if it's the same on the raptor but I only ever drive Honda's, I drive a Honda TRX 700XX
@@Kuledoob it is 👍 Also the 700XX is a beast!
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL ikr thank you
Thank u my little brother wanted to learn how to ride my quad nut he didn't know so I saw that he watched your videos and he knew so much more than me
Haha! That's awesome!! Glad I was able to help!
1:00 this man in the purge
😱😂😂😂
found a rlly nice quad that was standard and this taught me how to ride standard thank you.
Awesome! Glad I was able to help! 🤘😎
Great video very informative!
This is the reason I prefer the electric shift though, much easier.
Thanks I appreciate it! 💯 Electric shift is awesome!
Brother tried to explain it to me but I really wasn’t grasping the concept but u explained this so well thank youuuu
Awesome! I'm glad I was able to help! Have fun riding and be safe! 😎🤘

The one video that actually teaches good I just got a new four wheeler with clutch and you answerd a ton of my questions!
This really helped me becouse last time I burned the clutch😂😂
Oh no 😬 Glad I was able to help!
Thank you so much for your good teacher 🎉❤
My trx 250ex won’t start n it stopped turning on when I think I turned it off in gear any suggestions on what I should do ??
It's probably still in gear which will prevent it from turning on so rock the quad forward and back a little bit while pressing the gear shifter down in order to place it back into neutral. Once in neutral try starting it up again. If this doesn't work let me know and we'll keep brain storming 👍
QUADNATION 929 it worked ‼️ the next day I just put it down to neutral n it started right up. Very appreciated tho
@@ivantorres8322 awesome! I'm so happy I was able to help you out! That's why I created this channel to help folks and to bring them some awesome entertainment! 🤘
You got a problem because most quads need to be turned off in neutral
@@miguelarvizu8864 It is best to turn them off in neutral so that way you don't accidentally start it up in gear. But most quads also have a safety switch which will prevent them from starting in gear unless your clutch is disengaged.
Thxs for the help I got my quad today and never know how to ride it after I watch this vid I became better and improved thxs alot
anyone else already know 100% how to drive a bike with a clutch but still watching?
😂😂😂 I've actually done the same thing!
Yeah. Ive been guilty of riding the clutch a little too much for me to admit tho lol
Your a goat not gonna lie I thought this was super difficult u just made it so simple.
You just made me LMAO 🤣 That's so awesome to have such great feedback! Thanks brother! 🤘 I'm glad I was able to help you brother! Have fun riding and be safe 👍
If I’m on the last gear can I stay on it and just ride or do I have to shift down to keep the quad going
Yes, that's called cruising and you can stay in that gear as long as you want or as long as the engine allows. If the engine starts to struggle then it would probably be a good time to shift down.
QUADNATION 929 u can only stay as long has u want on the last one?
@@JoelAlvarez-wy3rr really you can stay in any gear as long as you want as long as you're not lugging the engine or over revving. Typically though people will go into final gear and remain in that one longer than most other gears simply because usually in order to get up to a nice cruising speed you're going to be in one of the higher gears which is usually 4th or 5th, or 6th if you have a 6-speed gear case.
QUADNATION 929 thank you so much I’m getting an atv soon and don’t know much about them but this video was amazing on helping
@@JoelAlvarez-wy3rr I'm so glad I was able to help you! I appreciate the kind words! 👍 Have fun on your new quad and be safe!
God damn that helped me out so much. Thank you dude! Bought my first quad yesterday. Yamaha yfm 660r. Cant wait to collect it next week..
Who els here just thought it was going to be like the yfz 450
i have a 2007 suzuki ltr 450 and i didnt know that you had to let go of the clutch slowly, i always gave it gas and then let go my clutch slowly, im going to try the way you taught in this video. thanks
I’m gonna own this video until i have my very own 4 wheeler... each free time I get I’m gonna keep practicing studying 📖 🧐
Haha I really appreciate the enthusiasm and kind words! I'll glad I was able to provide a tutorial that you are responsive to 👍
Thank you for this! I’m getting a 2001 Honda trx400ex and this is going to be a major help!
Awesome! Glad I was able to help! 👍
i’m getting a 04 and i’m scared i’m not gonna be good at shifting gears is it hard
Do you have to let go slowly off the clutch when u are in 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 th when shifting a gear up ?
I apologize for not seeing this until now but no the only time you release the clutch slowly is when you're taking off so that way you don't flip back. Once you're shifting into any other gear you can pop the clutch out or release it quickly.
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL so like on 1 and 2 gear i release the clutch slowly?
This helped me a lot as I just got a Suzuki 230 quad runner and I didn’t know how to drive clutch thanks a lot now I know I’m gonna subscribe
*06:07* Is their any control required on the clutch release once shifted into gear? (Obviously not referring to movement from standstill)
It's best just to release the clutch quickly as possible basically just by releasing it in such a way that it snaps back to its resting position. This will prevent the clutch from burning which will occur if you release the clutch slowly.
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL Fantastic. Thank You
Great video brother keep doing your thing young man and may GOD keep blessing you and your family Amen
Thank you so much Midwest fisherman! 🙏🙏 Bless you and yours as well!
I already know hot to drive a clutch idk even know why I’m watching maybe because I like atv
🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the support bro!
Best tutorial I have ever seen.
Awesome!!! Thank you for the great feedback!! 🤘😎
My bombardier 650 sometime doesn’t want to turn on and when it does the clutch gets stuck
Can you describe exactly what's happening. The clutch gets stuck in what way?
Sorry not the clutch it’s the throttle when I turn it on and give it gas it doesn’t comes back to places. And some time I have a hard time turn it on
@@jesusochoa684 okay I understand now.
Okay thank you
This is the best atv training video ever 💯
Haha! I'm not sure if I deserve that much credit but I am very thankful for your gratitude!! 🙏🙏
Its jus like a dirt bike guys
Thanks bru finally someone is actually doing something great and helping us thanks bra👍👍👍👍👍👍

I’m getting a raptor 700r and omg the way u explained down shifting was amazing thx man
My brother just bought a quad and it was my birthday the next day after he bought it and I been wanting one so it got one and I watched this video it really seems easy to ride it now but he's gonna get another one so we can both have fun
That's awesome!!! Glad I was able to help! Oh yeah riding two machines is much more awesome!!
Awesome man! I appreciate the support 👊😎 Your YFZ looks sick! Have fun riding brother!
