    yeah ngl your struggle to gather is a skill issue it was not hard at all

      I think it was the amount of time it takes up 🤔 like watching a cut scene every time you want to pick a flower

      @@okgamergirl yeah thats fair enough, it became like a mini game objective every time, it could of been a small left hand screen gimmick

      I really liked the gathering mechanic, as well as resources being limited to different biomes/locations, and that you actually had to look at the Hunter's Guide. That's really immersive and cool for an Avatar game where your connection to nature plays a big role.

    • @okgamergirl
      @okgamergirl  Месяц назад +1

      Oh ya the different biomes and flora and fauna was a really great detail! And the fact that you had to read up on what you were trying to find was fun, definitely added to the immersion!

    If I'm going to be honest, I feel like your gathering skills is more so due to a lack of patience for the activity than anything. If you actually pay attention to how the gathering control scheme works, isn't hard at all.
    I played this game on my PS5, so for me, what I did was slightly press down on the R2 button while moving around the Left Analog stick in any direction. Whenever the stick no longer vibrated, that was my que to keep pushing in that direction, and then, I could fully press down on R2, allowing me to get the ingredient I needed in pristine condition.

      @okgamergirl  Месяц назад +2

      Oh ya, it's definitely a time thing! At first I thought it was cool and immersive, but after playing for a few hours, I found constantly stopping to play a mini game was a bit draining...like it interrupted my flow when running to a mission or something. It's not a bad mechanic, I've just been spoiled by games that let you hit a button to gather as you're running past 😆

    You could’ve used Sid for taking out facilities quietly, and later on in the game when you take out your first big base you get a shotgun. There are also resting spots where you can skip from day to dusk and so on, that’s how I always gather materials. And one last thing! In your settings you can change the gathering settings, that way a little helping animation comes up and it makes it easier to gather (same goes for Sid, you can choose to auto complete the puzzles in your settings) I get where you’re coming from though but I still will say that you must give it a try again when you’re bored! (Sorry for my bad English lolll 😅)

    • @okgamergirl
      @okgamergirl  2 месяца назад +4

      Your English is great! 😊 I might give it another chance with your advice and see if it makes things a little more engaging! Didn't know there was an auto complete, that will save me a lot of grief 😆

      I'll just add that you can get a shotgun way sooner, there is a box in the location where you save So'lek at the beginning of the game, that you can open only with SID. So after getting SID you can just come back and take the shotgun.

    I think the reason I want to play Frontiers so bad is because I've never played a Far Cry game before. I hear people comparing the two, but as someone who never played the franchise, I think I'd love Frontiers more than the average person would

    • @okgamergirl
      @okgamergirl  2 месяца назад +1

      Ooh that's a great position to be in, coz you have nothing to compare Frontiers to! Definitely play it before any Far Cry games (if you do go on to play any!) and enjoy it as a unique experience 😁

  • @Paynrr01
    @Paynrr01 2 месяца назад +8

    This is just a side note, not criticism, but there is a setting AFOP that makes the gathering a button click, incase you feel like giving it another chance in the future. The only downside to it is that you don’t get any stat bonuses.
    There’s a few settings like that to make the game easier and more enjoyable if you don’t like certain mechanics, like gathering and the SID mazes.

  • @SmallishPoppy6

    One thing with frontiers with the gathering problem. You can change the difficulty on it to automatic. You can do that for hacking and memory paintings too. I got annoyed with memory paintings because of directional dyslexia (left and right). However frontiers didn’t do a good job at explaining how to get perfect gathering initially.
    I never got to play the 2009 game so I guess my favorite is frontiers by default.

    • @okgamergirl
      @okgamergirl  Месяц назад +1

      Oh I forgot about the paintings coz I didn't enjoy the puzzle, so was avoiding them 😆 I'll definitely go back and adjust the settings, and maybe it will make the whole game a little more streamlined for me! Thanks for the tip 😁

    Haven’t played Frontiers of Pandora yet but what makes me believe 2009’s is better is that the campaign allows you to pick a side of the conflict meaning you can be the bad guys and stick with the RDA if you wanted, and then on top of that had a surprisingly fun asymmetrical multiplayer mode that for the time felt really grand in scale

    • @okgamergirl
      @okgamergirl  4 дня назад

      Ooh good point, we don't always get the chance to play both sides of a conflict in games! We're usually told which side is good, and stick to them and their stories rather than explore the other side of the coin

    • @JumpingJiraffe
      @JumpingJiraffe 4 дня назад

      @@okgamergirl yes also, in case you never went back and replayed the RDA campaign you get another chance to join the Na’vi at the final act and betray the RDA but this time you stay human. So it’s pretty neat that there’s basically 3 storylines to that game.

    frontier is more exploration openworld game, this is how most of open world game works, certain weather changes how you interact.
    original avatar is more toward shoot and scoot, like the shooting games from CoD or Medal of honors
