IMHO she actually has a really distinct signature with both instruments, violin being mostly present in the unknown related tracks. Another one of her signature composition moves that I love about her battle tracks is the way she uses strings and brass instruments to mark the rhythmic parts

The writing for Xemnas has to be one my favorites like out of all the villains, his dialogue is just amazing. “As your flesh…bares the sigil, so your name shall be known as that, of a recusant.” The recusant sigil on his chest will become a part of him when he becomes their 13th vessel, meaning his name will have it too. Making him essentially named after the rebel who betrayed them (Roxas) again, but also having the sigil that is recognized to be part of Organization XIII, and Xehanorts obsession with the X-blade. Xemnas, always at it with the clever wordplay.

I think it makes Dream Drop Distance more darker than it looks to be. For a KH game with dreams as the main theme, I've never expected it to go to this level. I swear I got slight depression after beating DDD at the idea that would've happened to Sora should he fail
The amazing segment in 1:50 is haunting, tragic and sinister. It’s like how Sora is so wrapped up in whooping Xemnas’s ass for his atrocities he has committed, but he’s so caught up in his darkness that he doesn’t realize he’s falling further and further into the trap. The organ at 2:01 was like Xehanort’s tentacles wrapping tighter and tighter around Sora as he tries and fails to escape.
2:00 - 2:05 that part right there is so haunting all by it's self. It's like the little hint of madness deep down in the mind of Xemnas (or rather the original Xehanort's madness).
i dont know many times segment 1:20 - 1:50 has been used on the Kingdom Hearts ost since Kingdom Hearts 2 but god dammit i always love listening to it in every single one!
The notes don't exactly match up, but the consistent rhythm matches up exactly with Terra's theme. Which I think is interesting. Everybody usually thinks of Ansem and Xemnas as the heartless and nobody of Xehanort, but in reality they're the heartless and nobody of TERRANORT. The familiar rhythm but distorted notes of Terra's theme in Xemnas' music is a cool way of expressing that connection between Terra and Xemnas. It's still Terra, but twisted nearly beyond recognition.

Gotta love how discordant and broken this feels compared to the original 'Darkness of the Unknown'. It's essentially an embodiment of all the doubts Xemnas ever felt throughout his journey. I think this went to Xemnas' battle with Sora in KH3D. A tricky fight as far as I saw when my little bro did it. I read on another vid you liked the bosses that switched their tactics better in KH games. I think KH2 they did that the most. Especially with the O13 members.
the Xemnas fight in KH3D is not that hard, the one against Ansem when your riku is way herder, all the bosses after that are nowhere near as hard in my opinion, and your right, they did have alot of tactic switching in KH2, and thats why its one of my favorite games given you can't really tell whats going to happen. and i didn't say it about KH, it was about HK2.
really? the boss i had the hardest time against was ansum while in that long ass corridor. you know, the one where he fired those lazers at you after he smacked you to the other end of the room.

I thought I'd never see the word "Xemnas", "monotone" and "voice" in the same sentence that does not include "doesn't have a". Sure, he's not as hammy as Ansem, but he's still overly dramatic. There's no better feeling than making sure the music lines up at 2:00 while you're dashing across skyscrapers to pound Xemnas' ass after he just tossed a dozen of them at you.
Because Xemnas is the same kind of Nobody as Roxas and Naminé; he is made of the essence of the original being, but has a mind and will of his own. Being the Nobody of someone who never truly existed made him what he is. "Ansem" (or Xehanort's Heartless, as I usually call him) is Master Xehanort in Heartless form; when he broke free from Terra's body, the remaining scraps of Xehanort's essence haphazardly combined with Terra's still-hijacked body to form Xemnas.
Ansem is also technically Terra's Heartless too. Especially since the Guardian is Terra's trapped heart, now part of Ansem SoD. The mixed circumstances essentially made Ansem SoD and Xemnas their own beings than just Xehanort's Heartless and Nobody. Same scenario with Roxas and Namine. Ultimately their own beings due to the strange circumstances

Just beat this game on proud mode and this is by far my favorite soundtrack of this game considering it reused the same elements of xemnas's old OST in kh2 such a beautiful game
I believe that this truly is the real theme for Xemnas During the entire track you can feel how Xemnas feels and I can't help but dislike the Re:Mind version BECAUSE it removed all of the emotion In Re:Mind it just feels like boss music but the version from 3D truly does feel like it belongs to Xemnas.
even though this is Xemnas theme, this feels likes Sora's theme for feeling even more emboldened to fight for his friends. even if he wasn't the chosen one, Sora doesn't need to be special to protect his friends
Not really sure if it contains all of those themes, but I do think that the heavy string section in the background is a nod to Terra, since Xemnas has all of his memories.

idk why, but that bit has always been my favorite thing about Xemnas' theme
even though this is Xemnas theme, this feels likes Sora's theme for feeling even more emboldened to fight for his friends. even if he wasn't the chosen one, Sora doesn't need to be special to protect his friends
