Hey man! I got mine last week! Thanks to you guys its a welcomed addition to my home gym. Great invention
Awesome! Great to hear. I appreciate the support!
Looks like a great product. Congratulations, Kyle!
Thank you brother, hopefully it’s the first of many innovative collabs with AbMat
You have been a God send with your great ideas keep up the good work Bro !
Thank you so much! I’ve still got plenty of gas in the tank.
Wow, this pad is versatile like few other training utensils! 👍
Also, I find it wonderful that it is the product of a collaboration.
Thanks! I am also a fan of versatility and collaboration.
I use my SSB for hip thrusts, already has the built-in pad, and it has been absolutely awesome
That’s a great idea. I’ve never seen that done before.
@@KaizenDIYGym It's very helpful, definitely protects in all the right areas, firmly affixed, the camber on the bar makes it easy to roll off yourself compared to a straight barbell, its a win all around (assuming one already owns a SSB)
nothing beats the ssb pad for hip thrusts.
+1 for the ssb!
Great idea going to do this!
Very cool. Congrats!
Thank you! Cheers!
A few years ago I took my airex pad and duck-tapped it to my multi-bar. It worked ok but this looks better and is easier to move around👍🏻I might give this a try.
Great! At some point I’ll be posting the DIY tutorial too
Congratulations good job Kyle
Thank you so much!
Yep!
Thanks buddy!
CONGRADS K !!!!!
Thank you so much! This is a pretty exciting launch!
Pretty cool man, I’m sure this has great potential to sell well. While this piece of equipment isn’t specifically something I would use for my home gym, I’m excited to see what you got in store for the future with your creativity. With that in mind, have you considered a cost effective home solution for reverse hyper extensions? I use one side of my squat rack where I put my hips on the safeties with a pad for comfort. Then, I use a bench to brace myself in front by holding my torso still and load with a resistance band folded in half and attach weight to the middle and put my feet through. It works, but I know there’s gotta be a better way. What are your thoughts? Thank you!
Thank you for the kind words! I personally can't do reverse hypers due to a stomach injury, so I haven't spent much time thinking about them. I'll put the idea on the back burner and see if I can come up with anything.
We need a nice metal wall storage bc this is a must on the wall more important that the ab mat in my opinion. We need a wall metal solution to show off please
That is something I included in this video: ruclips.net/video/I_BUkvApmZ4/видео.html
I used these garage hooks: amzn.to/47LVDhY
If it has more than one use, its good enough for me 🙂
Awesome! It did some of those additional exercises pretty well. Not too shabby.
Exactly
I have discovered you today and i love your chanels, but i just have a drill. You should make a vid with the necesary items to starting with Diy. Really thanks
Thanks for the idea! I’ll add it to my to-do list!
Hey mate, just jumped on the website link for your products.
Are you making a hip belt squat attachment soon also?
Also, is the website link above the only page with your creations?
Or do you also sell them on a different website...
Be cool to include your link below every vid you've created as people would be very keen to buy your products
Keep up the great work mate
I do have a belt squat belt in the works and another related piece.
I’ve done multiple products with a few different companies, I have them on my site but it would be a good idea to put everything together in a single link. Thanks for the suggestion.
@@KaizenDIYGym can you tell me your website that sells your home gym equipment inventions?
Thanks
What’s the video about? I was looking at the tats the whole time. Looking good my man!!
Ha! Thanks! Maybe I should do a dedicated tat video. I’m pretty much covered from head to toe, minus my right leg.
@@KaizenDIYGym please do! They are stunning. I have no tats, but damn I love em.
How high off the ground is it typically set up? I ask because the lowest I can get my j-cups is around 18” from the floor. With the bar and pad thickness added to that, would the total height be too high for someone 5’ 6” tall to keep proper form?
I'm not an expert, I just tried different heights until I found what was comfortable
Been debating on selling my BC Strength pad bar for this pad to save space 🤔
Yeah, if you’ve already got a 2nd bar, it makes sense. Though I’m not sure if how much the BC thruster would sell for in the used marketplace.
Nice thing!
I wonder how long would it last on a Texas power bar...!
That would be a fun experiment
@@KaizenDIYGym but I have a crappy knurl barbell for that kind of purpose... And I prefer to use an axle for the actual hip trust barbell, it's more comfy. Do you know if Rogue will resell this product in their store?
Looks like it might work with a safety pipe also?
Yes, any 1 inch bar that is strong enough to handle the weight
Why didn't you make a video on the hip thrust you made for other that can't afford to buy almost 200+
It’s in the works
Can it be used effectively for donkey calf raises on a smith machine?
Haven’t tried that yet
Can I use the pivot pad on a smith machine bar on my rack?
Yes, the pad rotates around the bar. It’ll work on a smith machine
Ok dude. I just ordered this. You may force me to sell my signature fitness hip thrust machine and free up more room in my garage.
Awesome, thank you for the support by buying my products! This one is definitely a space saver if you already have the rack and 2 barbells.
I've never done these.
It’s worth a try sometime
@@KaizenDIYGym I just might 🏋♂️
I'm thinking seated calve raises
I bet that would work
Nice invention but i think its too expensive so many people will say pass probably!
Totally understandable. There’s definitely a niche for it. Even if that doesn’t mean millions of units sold I’m still proud to have my name attached to it
@@KaizenDIYGym of course, congratulations for your involvement in this and it should be nice if you'll put on the market other devices you worked on! By the way, you didnt gave me the measurements i asked for that perfect calf block on your video about it! Or sell me one and send it to me here in eastern Europe, i just love to do calves and to get a crazy painful burn on them!
How did you guys come up with the price on this thing? $135 for some foam and plastic? How much does it cost to make 3 dollars?
There are a lot of things that contribute to the final pricing. Injection molded foam with a solid plastic core seems simple to people who are not familiar with injection molding. It is actually a very complicated process and took almost a year of trying and failing and trying again to get it right. All of that time and the materials used factor into the “product development cost”. A company selling a product needs to be able to recoup product development investments through the sale of that product. A company that does not do this won’t be in business long.
Another thing to consider is that this is an American made product, supporting American jobs. The people involved work in safe environments and receive a fair living wage. This is not the case for many inexpensive items made overseas.
Thanks for asking. Hopefully this helps you understand. Have a great day.
This is great. I’ve had the BC Strength version for a year and regret getting it because Brett Contreras is a terrible person. Would rather much support you and AbMat.
Why is he a terrible person?
I don’t know much about Brett but I appreciate the kind words
@@jeremy242 there are just reports of him being gross to women. Not really shocking for someone who calls himself the Glute Guy. The video “Brett Contreras exposed” has some info and there’s more on Reddit and other places on the internet.
@@jamestonbellajo hmm haven't heard any of that but he did make an entire career out of building women's glutes.
I am a big Bret Contreras fan from before he was famous I have been a follower since 2010 before he became the glute guy. In my opinion, he is a stand-up guy with a lot of integrity for fitness and toward people. There are always haters no matter who you are once you get a certain amount of recognition. I have met him and he is a lovely man. I personally do not like to comment on people's character that I have not met or dealt with in some way. Since I have had the privilege of dealing with him I can say from my personal experience Bret Contreras is one of the good guys.
$135 for a piece of foam? 😂
Yup but I am open to suggestions if you’re familiar with injection molding, product distribution, and running a profitable business in general. I can tell by your comment you are very knowledgeable.
