    Awesome video, full of helpful information. I also use my HTP as padding on the ground when I do lunges and split squats (so I don't bang my knees into the ground). Thanks for the shout out!

    I’ve tried using foam rolls, aka pool noodles, and they work very well for about one set, after that they just start ripping into shreds

    I put in a search for this item in RUclips and you're the first one that pops up I'm like whoa, That's too many hip thrusts in one video lol But I think I'll be getting this pad myself as I now have a hip thrust pad attachment for my rack from Eleiko that I'm loving

    Always great content! Keep these awesome videos coming. Random question, in some of your videos, you mentioned of a silicone spray lubricant that you use for your moving parts in your equipment. What silicone spray do you recommend? I just got a used lat pulldown machine and it's guide rods could use some lube. Thank you kind sir,

    So Mr Hacky focuses on the small stuff in this world 😃Training your buttocks is important. Not only for the cosmetic balance of your body, but also because a well-developed butt helps you perform many other exercises for other muscle groups better. Personally, I tilt my legs forward to avoid strain on the hamstrings as much as possible and so most of the weight is lifted through my butt. Nice gadget!
    Ps. Those bloopers are hilarious.
    Me to my wife: honey, you need to help me
    She: with what?
    Me: you'll see….

    I use a squat pad when I do hip thrusts and yeah, it's not the most comfortable. This seems like a better option for someone who does a lot of glute bridges and hip thrusts.

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  2 года назад +1

      Agreed. I’ve found a yoga mat or squat pad is okay for anything at 4 45s and below. For 6 45s and up this seems much better. It’s also nice to only have material on one side of the bar.

  • @briand5047

    Good review. Best hip machine I've used was the Hammer Strength Hip and Glut (P-L). Not too common. Where I had access to one, they got rid of it. No one ever used it, except me. Back then, except for HIT people, not many were doing glut exercises, unless on a pulley or in an aerobics class. H.S. leg curls with H.S. H+G is great hamstring pre-X.

      Thank you, BD! I would love to have a dedicated Hip Thrust Machine like the HS or even the plate loaded Nautilus, I’m just not sure I can give up the floor space.

    • @briand5047
      @briand5047 2 года назад

      @@HomeGymHacksandReviews Versatility per square foot is pretty low on those. The H-S machine I was referring to has the pads beneath the knees and you are lying on your back. Similar to the original Nautilus Hip and Back, but extend both sides at once.

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  2 года назад +1

      @@briand5047 interesting! Yeah, I agree, not too much versatility for the space required and the IM 2000 bar is a great place to perform the exercise because the bar can lock into place unlike most smith machines.

      @@HomeGymHacksandReviews That H.S. strength machine I referred to - on his recent video of a glute and ham workout, Nick Walker tries it and says "f this thing, but it looks cool". He was nowhere close to lined up properly. I wasn't sure if he just didn't know how to use it or if his legs are too damn big to fit into it.

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews

      I haven’t had a chance to use a balance pad for anything. I will say, I use the HTP for quite a few things, most notably, my seated calf raise hack on the Levergym.

    I'm not a jerk and I want to say this as nice as I can and it is just my opinion and I have been wrong before. I'm just an old school lifter that has years of experience and I have seen almost every invention that people have come up with in the fitness industry and these abmat products seem to me to be fly by night items like the thigh master or the ab belt that vibrates and is supposed to melt fat away. These products seem to be for the women who will buy every new item that comes out and claims it is the greatest thing ever invented. Again not being a jerk just giving an honest opinion. I love your channel and watch all your videos and I feel u want us subs to be honest with u so I was. Also, I dont understand how the cut outs in the pads would help with making the bar feel better

    • @HomeGymHacksandReviews
      @HomeGymHacksandReviews  2 года назад +1

      Hey! I appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching this video and my other ones. By no means is this an essential product and I was reluctant to do this review because I typically stick to machines and bigger ticket items.
      I will say, the HTP makes this exercise much more comfortable and if it helps to increase the weight I can lift by even making the exercise slightly more comfortable then I think it’s worth it.
      I am not an affiliate for AbMat so I’m not trying to sell anyone anything. As I said in this video, I could make my own or get by fine with a yoga mat, but this is better.
      Also, being this is a review channel, I hope this review is helpful to anyone who is considering purchasing this product.
      The holes in the middle pads help to trap the bar in place. Again, thanks so much and I greatly appreciate your support.

      @@HomeGymHacksandReviews Nothing against U, U are a reviewer and are supposed to review all equipment. U did as always a Great job. As I said maybe I'm wrong but it kind of seems like some guys got together and said let's sew some pads inside a vinyl covering and market it as a must have product, people will buy it. If it helps then that's good but it sure ain't rocket science, what they came up with is equivalent to a baseball cap with beer huggers attached to the sides. U did your job, all I'm saying is I'm not in favor of this particular piece. I'm just not an abmat fan
      but I am a fan of U

      @@bobbyhunt3009 Your comment makes absolutely no sense.. this product doesn’t promise to do anything like “melt fat away”, it’s not advertising to be the next big thing, next great thing, or some necessary revolutionary product that makes empty promises.. all it’s advertised as is a pad for hip thrusts.. one of many companies who make them. Nowhere is any of that other stuff even insinuated by abmat or any of the people I’ve seen review this product. So random 😂
