A most excellent tutorial. My OCD, or whatever the acronym is, would be to vacuum that dash! Subbed!!!

    Thank you for this video.
I was chasing an issue with my truck's automatic lighting always turning on the lights, even on the middle of the day.
Following your video on lifting the dash pad, I discovered the sensor that I could see want connected to anything, and another was connected and laying down between the ductwork.
Reinstalling the sensor in the empty hole and testing it resulted in a functional automatic lighting system.

Thanks ... worked great ... ours had just fallen down so put it back ... used a zip tie to prevent it from twisting and falling the future - cut the end of a 2nd zip tie and put at the bottom so one of the curious kids doesn't just pull it out but left about an inch so if we ever need to cut later will be easy.
Next we need to check into the heater blower as seems to only work on setting 5 .... not sure if the blower itself or the controller.

Once you replace the sensor do you have to do any kind of reset on the system? If so, what has to be done?

I can't find the sensor for my 2005 Silverado anywhere! Not in the stores, not online. I need the two prong version, not four. Any help would be appreciated

Question, can't that also fit a Sonoma? I have a 98 Sonoma that has that too it looks 100 percent like that too but I can't find "the one that fits" my truck.

Absolutely insane engineering, absolutely ludicrous what the engineers thinking. All this needs to be is push snap or forward mount. Charge an arm and a leg for a photoresistor, tear your whole dash apart. Did I say its insane?

If this is not working would it make your cruise control not work.
