Saw another video where he took out the radio to allow access to the sensor. Just as an fyi thing... also, is it necessary to remove the vent ducts or would they follow the dash panel when removed? Or would they get caught up on something... asking before I replace that small item.
I had also seen videos showing removing the radio, but in my truck, removing the radio would not have given me enough room. And yes, I had to remove the vent ducts first. They came out and went back in very easily though. Good luck with yours.
El sensor es sensible a la luz o tiene que recibir rayos del sol? en mi Chevrolet Silverado 2004 tiene que ser intensa la luz del cielo para que funcione. En tu camioneta como reacciona?
The sensor should work with both sunlight or bright lights. On cloudy days though my truck has always switched over to the nighttime lights. It evidently needs to be very bright in order for it to go into the daytime lights.

Thanks!
this helpful video made an expensive job; do-able;
car audio shops stated “horribly expensive; just deal with it”

Thats some bullshit just to change that. Why cant it just twist out like a bulb
Because that's typical mid 2000s GM logic 😂😂🤷
While watching this video took me 10 seconds to remove due to dryrotted brittle dashboard lmfao
as soon as i saw dash had to be removed i ran far away. no way im going to take apart a 23 year old dash and not have it fall apart on me.
You can replace it by takin the radio out its less space but its better then takin whole damn bash
@@Modz_Loko good to know. thanks. my dash is pretty brittle from being in the Arizona sun.
