    The yellowish plants he's standing in is one of the worst plants in the Southeast. Chinese Bushclover (Lespedeza cuneata) was introduced in the late 1800s by federal and state agencies for use in, erosion control, cattle forage, hay and other purposes. Because it forms dense stands that outcompete native plants, produces tons of long-lasting seeds, has deep roots that access water and nutrients others can't, releases chemicals that inhibit nearby growth, and alters soil chemistry by fixing nitrogen it domminates other grassland plants. These traits make it one of the worst invasive plants for grasslands.

Would be cool to be able to find those somewhere!

    He is like some Robert Johnson crossroads kind of stuff. From a talented punk rocker who goes away for a while and comes back as the premier singer songwriter of a generation (or maybe ever!). I spent the 70s unraveling and trying to interpret Ian Anderson, Geezer Butler…. In those guys whole careers they never put out as much culturally significant heavy sh** as Jesse. “Wow, Heaaaavy Maaan”

    Whew! As a sometime depressed, often cranky and sarcastic person blessed with a partner who isn’t wired that way- I’d say this hits a lot closer to home than some of the others.
    Reminds me of a line from another old favorite song, “Seven Waves” - “keeping my head down like I always do / when you walk in with the blues”

      I think these songs are better just as they are. Over complicating them would detract from the very personal nature of them. It's kind of like the Mashup snack trend of the early 2000's. Sometimes you just want a simple candy bar so you can enjoy & appreciate the flavor. Adding every ingredient under the sun makes for a unique flavor, but doing so obliterates the individual flavors.
