Thanks for putting this together and helping me connect with what Jesse Welles was referring to. I now see the roots of that cool lick and some of the reason why Jesse made all these references to this amazing Japanese guitarist. Appreciate all you did here. Thanks again.
Had no idea about this connection! Been a huge Welles fan lately and I also love Takanaka's stuff. Can't believe I didn't put two and two together. Great video
I'm pretty sure I was only recommended Jesse Welles because of how much Takanaka I listen to. This is the first song of his that showed up and I knew the riff instantly.
this is so perfect i had just been trying to learn the tengo suerte riff because i recognised it in Jesse's song and i was inspired and i immediately got this video recommended to me from a live performance by takanaka
Very interesting! With the incredible amount of banger songs Jesse has been pumping out lately, I really wondered if he could have been fast tracking things by using riffs from old music. This confirms my suspicions. This does not take away from his mind blowing talent in any way. If anything it ads to his genius and his respect shows with the nod to Takanaka in his lyrics!
@@crunchmaster4536 Sorry but I am not the man in the video. His name is Jesse Welles, he has his own youtube channel. I recommend listening to "The Whales" by Jesse Welles if you enjoyed this song.
I will be honest- your title and especially video description should reference that. I was confused too when initially coming here and had to edit my comment

That’s literally what good guitarists/musicians do. You should listen to the hippies talk about stealing their guitar riffs from Miles Davis.
SWEET
Really cool thank you
This is really great man. You did the song justice
we need more people like you
I love takanaka
This was awesome
Keep on grooving
What a wonderful ambiance! also, great playing and singing!

Tu Ingles es ok!

AWESOME ALSO YOUR HAIR IS SO COOL
The second song is itself heavily influenced by "Breezin'" by Gabor Szabo and Bobby Womack
This is brilliant
❤
You are absolutely talented. Your playing is beautiful and your singing is satisfyingly rough (and on pitch). Really well done, I hope to see more!
