Just the person I am looking for. I wanted to ask whether we can downsize the front rim of thr Himalayan to 18 inches ? The reduction of 3 inches will affect in what ways ?
Hey thanks for coming here Yes the effect will be evident. FIRST MAJOR CON:- ABS calibration can go for a toss. You might need to check how it works for ABS in RE. Many motorcycles show ABS error if you do that. Also Speedo Calibration goes wrong. A 21 inch rim does fewer rotations than 18inch rim for the same distance covered. Also less rotations for same motorcycle speed. If you do lot of Offroad and Highway Riding, its counter productive. Your Ride quality will suffer a bit and motorcycle will feel less stable. PROS:- Easier Turning and Maneuverability in City Speeds and Traffic. Cornering will show decent improvement. I suggest AVOID IT! Every parameter will be affected like ground clearance, etc.
Thank you for sharing this valuable information! Would you recommend to downsize the rear tyre of my Suzuki Vstrom 250? The stock size is 140mm and I am planning to bring it down to 130mm. Kindly advise.
Thank you for the kind reply. I advise against downsizing on tubeless rims. Since the tire is narrower it fits slightly less tight on the rim and you might get air leaks where the tire sits on the rim. Also honestly there are more dual option tires in 140mm size than 130mm
Amazing insights man. I have an MT 15 V2 and the front tires are honestly garbage, they're very cheap and not even radial. However there are very limited options in the market for the size 100/80 - 17. So I'm thinking of switching to a 110/70 - 17 size Apollo Alpha H1. The speedo error will be 1-2% which is negligible. I hope I don't face any other issues in doing so
Thanks a lot Yes you can upsize as 80mm profile vs 77mm profile is a small difference. Do check if there is sufficient clearance at the mudguard. Minor Speedo error will be present. ABS sensor won't show any problem.
For pulsar 220f which is the best tyre in front . I use Apollo but i am not happy with it's grip and stopping. Back tyre i recently changed to mrf zapper soon I will need to change front too. A few more rubber to reach the wear indicator. For the front I am willing to spend up to 3k. Please suggest a good tyre.
I haven't changed the tires on my Pulsar in a while, so I am not updated with whats in market in 90/90-17. But I am using MRF Masetter which I really like so far. Rear you can slightly upsize to Rev-S 130/70-17 that come on R15.
I will Explain How Rim Size affects your motorcycle in todays video. Its not very convenient to upsize or downsize rim because Speedo and ABS calibration gets affected. Best done for custom or race motorcycles or other very specific purposes.
Bhai aspect ratio wise kia rahega like for cbr 250r if i use the 140/60 over 140/70 , so the diff is 14 mm, ican reach better upto the ground any prblm in doing so?

@@sagaronwheels Excellent advice Sir. Back to the drawing board then. But something must be done. This giraffe of a motorcycle will bow down. It must.

Thank you for Suggestion. Nakki Discuss karu pudchya parts madhe
Can i down size my bike's tyre from 140/60-17 to 130/70-17 ?is there any problem if i do so?
For tube tire hardly any issue. But with tubeless undersizing you might get leaks on the rim seal.

Bro kindly explain rim size upsizing and downsizing also.
